What did you use as your base for your village? I am wondering too what you used for the snow it looks so great. You did a wonderful job......Merry Christmas!
@whatchinthetube The Bases is a combination of wood, foam, and fold out tables. The top two levels (houses) are wooden tables that we built. The levels below those are fold out tables that you can buy at home depot. We used foam (also bought at home depot) to create the different elevations. The snow is department 56's fresh fallen snow, we also used cotton to fill the larger areas. Merry Christmas
I set up my own village every year and seeing your display just blew me away!!! Every detail is absolutely perfectly done. How many year has it taken you to aquire everything??
it's only 6 november, and i'm already looking forward to christmas, because i love snow and christmas lights, and wish that someone would built a real village as in the video, because i would love to spend the holydays there. i'm also sure that i would attract millions of people, so why didn't someome came up with the idea to built a christmas theme park?
I like the way you have the figurines interact with each other and relate to the buildings. That adds to the unique flavor of your own village and adds tons of personality.
Good filming technique. Slow, steady and low to the ground.
And you got a LOT of buildings in this set-up. Wowee wow wow.
Neat!! My boss has some Department 56 buildings at his store that he would like to get rid of at half-price. If anyone wants a list, please send me a message.
also around 4:21 it looks like a park with the tree in the middle and the fence and steps around it. is that one piece or a few put together? If so, what piece? it looks great, i wouldnt mind doing something like that myself
To raise the buildings I used foam boards. And the piece at 4:21 is Department 56 "All Around the Park". But the tree does not come with lights so you need to get those separately and put them.
Also, the figures in the park don't come with the set. The set includes the big tree, several small trees and bushes, a bench, the fence, and some animated figures (not displayed).
