  • @purpleparadisex3 I feel the same way, but i end up doing breast kick instead of flutter

  • i already know how to do that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how do you swim

  • I know what I did wrong, I forgot to wave my hands to the sides before pushing myself up. The consequence is that my butterfly strokes were too fast and the arms rhythm didn't match with the legs.

  • okay

  • my best stroke<3

  • i wish i was good at swimming

  • @SpicyTaco362 I think the verb you are looking for is 'were'. Not was.

  • I know how to do it in my swimming class already.

  • will get awful cramp on hamstring trying to follow this kind of techniques...sigh~

  • thanks, I can't quite put the stroke together with the kick. I was only doing one kick before, but now I'm going to have to hit the pool and practice more!

  • @imyournewstepdad try to make two different kicks, one big and a small. With the big one you push yourself out of the water to pull your arms in front of you

  • where is expert village

  • There are 2 ways to swim butterfly, both of which are very similar. This is the way you should absolutely NOT swim butterfly if you're a beginner. Both ways are excellent, and prove to be equal. I've been swimming for approximately 10 years. Once your arms enter the water, after circling above the water, you hold your arms out in front, and mimic the dolphin glide for about 1/4 - 1/2 of a second, and then pull to complete a stroke. Hard to explain, but if you see ppl doing it, you'll get it

  • wth i just found out about this lolll ughhhhh i hav no clue how to do this!!!

  • notice how he uses his arm to demonstrate actions you use with your leg 0.0

  • please contact your local Swimming Expert lmfao XD

  • i swim the 100 butterfly, 100 freestyle, and the 100 IM..thats nothing :D

  • did u slipped at 0:51?

  • My Nose Keeps Bleeding Everytime i Go In The Water. Heeelp!

  • @CossMyNameStephanie My best friend had the same problem. Her problem was that the water made her nose dry so it caused it to bleed. Try putting vaceline in the nostrils, thats what she did and it helped her TONS. Now she doesnt have nose bleeds when she swims.:) And if that doesnt work try getting nose plugs, their only like a dollar or 2. Hope this helps!

And btw my name is stephanie too!;)

  • why the fuck am i watching this

  • @pwnJOOface i was just trying to find a video to help me critique and this isnt helping..

  • when i tried doing this,i almost drowned

  • oh and the dead man's float

  • why do they call it the butterfly?

its more of a fucking dolphins

i bet it was you americans

  • The butterfly stroke is very tiring!!! But cool!! :D

  • flyers are the best

  • jammers piss me off

  • This is tourture watching him swim this.it's like watching a spasing out dolphin.

  • I think he should play him swimming in slow-motion and do a voice over to point out exactly what he's doing

  • Finally got the sequence..yesterday...so now I have plenty of energy left. =.="

Though I have no idea if you are supposed to raise your head up when you come up for a breath.

  • this is my favorite stroke :)

  • i am 11 years old kid i am learning to swim like him!!!!!!

  • no wonder he didnt make it to the olympics he doesnt even have the kick right

  • my coach taught me the easiest way possible and I learned to swim butterfly in a couple months

  • which is faster, butterfly stroke or freestyle?

  • @maruyama87 I personally say freestyle but depends which one you train more on

  • @maruyama87 butterfly are the fastest stroke i was once a swimmer the best one and i still swimm my best butterfly stroke. if it your first time doing it you might want to take some time to do it that way you dnt over due it. it my favorite stroke of all i did 100 yard in Nov. came in 2nd place that was my last competition i miss it so much :)

  • BUTTERFLY IS AWESOME

  • i've been swimming for a year and still can't learn butterfly. ugh.

  • fly should be called hummingbird cause thats what it looks like lol

  • butterfly is really very difficult but fun to learn with.. ^^

  • just get ur head down when ur arms go over, i do 30 secs for 50m fly, 1:02 for 100m...its easy once u get the rythum

  • PULL PULL

  • Yay! I love butterfly! I'll post some videos of me doing butterfly soon. But, my coach told me over and over that your kick shouldn't be too big. If you bend your knees too much, you go too deep in the water and it takes a lot of energy to bring your body back up.

  • he's using his knees too much. you're supposed to use your hips...

  • i can only swim the freestyle stroke very good!!

Than the crawl, and the butterfly...

  • my butterfly stroke is difficult because my coach said that fly like a butterfly

  • I have a difficulty doing the first kick, i.e when the arms are entering the water. When I do 333-butterfly drill, I can do it with one arm stroke, but when I do it both arms, the problem occurs again. I have watched several videos, incl. Dennis Pankratov video; it seems easy to follow, but when it comes into practice, it is very difficult.

  • @SammysWhammy what if you got no abs

  • Try not to bend your legs too much underwater because it can create some drag. I think it's better to watch the everybodyswim video.

  • your feet are too much apart...but nice tutorial..tnx ive learned a lot ; )

  • he's lip-synching

  • u suck at butterfly.I'm practicing swimming for 7 years in croatia. I'm better than u.

  • put some videos and prove it.

  • @hitwoo prove it asswhole

  • I think your feet are too much apart when you're doing the dolphing kicks...

  • I did not see timing of butterfly.

    kick,and arm,breath.

I only use power to swim by foece.

  • butterfly is very difficult for me to learn :((

  • @kitaru22 dont worry i thought it was impossible for me to learn but then i learned and its really easy after learning it ^-^

  • @xxmattnumxx nice .. thanks for cheering :)

  • @xxmattnumxx wow nice :) so how was the feeling doing this stroke?

  • @kitaru22 well it felt really 'funky' doing it, but after a while I noticed I started to move a lot more than usual :P then after a while I got so use to it that it seems like its the only stroke I can do haha :]

  • @xxmattnumxx hahahaha nice :D

  • @kitaru22 not just very difficult for you, but for everyone...

  • @hafdin1 i see >.< im very frustrated in this stroke..

  • @kitaru22 its difficult for everyone to learn. you're not alone. =)

  • @craziidefence yeah right hahahaha

  • @kitaru22

    Same .-.

  • @Peroxide055 :")

  • @kitaru22 maybe because u arent fat. i saw fat people learning that stroke pretty quickly.

  • @Meowws really? so i need to be fat first to learn this stroke :D

hahaha just kidding .. maybe in time i can do this butterfly ..

  • @kitaru22 yeah it is hard but it is supposed to be hard i mean its the FASTEST stroke in the pool!

  • @southparkfan10000000 your right! its the fastest that's why i want to learn this stroke :D

  • @kitaru22 :D

  • i learned it in one day

  • @skullhead56 Yeah, 24 hours.

  • After learning about 5-6 times, I can swim butterfly. My problem now is that my body is not lifted high enough above the water during the exit phase, although I have done powerful kick during the entry and exit phase.

  • The underwater kicks are so important in this stroke and this is a pretty good video to get idea of what the ideal kick is. Good job!

  • Really helpful vid! thanks!!!

  • looks hard...... :(

  • it is hard

  • Going from 2 : 30 to 2 : 00 for 100 isn't really impressive, and 50 fly isn't really enough. It gets you used to the pull sure, but I swim about a 500 fly when I practice it. (1000 yard set, twenty 50's, 25 fly 25 free)

  • *is

  • this stroke its hard... it takes time to do it properly...

  • For me it's easier to breathe form the left side

  • There is really no exact way to swim this stroke. Even though there is a basic idea to the overall stroke, it's ultimately up to the swimmer to practice and tweak their personal style. I think this is a great video outlining the stroke.

For people learning the stroke, it's all trial and error, but mostly importantly, practice.

  • the freestyle is like.. the fastest right? But I like this style way more, looks so awesome and fun.. lol. Although you will last longer in the water while doing freestyle right?

  • but this way requires you more stamina and strength than the other strokes

  • I swim only the butterfly with my "duck-feet", 40year olds diving feet. But i remember when i was in a competition with others.. i could both win and loose if i dident have the speed before i was ofbove the water.

  • For me i got the dolphin kick no problem, but then adding the stroke throws me off so bad

  • that happens to me too!! im in level five and i cant do it! ughh! soo hard!!

  • me too!

  • this always reminds me of michael phelps

  • I suck at this stroke so much... D: Can't get the legs right. >_>

  • r U a mermaid..?Hahaha..:P

  • @philctabten merMAN ;)

  • I love butterfly, even the way it sounds in the water. I so much want to do it correctly. Thanks!!!

  • i suck art butterfly.I swim competivly, and our coach never actully 'tought' anyone how to do it correctly so because i am one of the only ones who can do it correctly then i have to. i dont like butterfly.

  • how the hell do u do the dolphin thing i can't do tht its so friggin hard for me

  • I hate butterfly. I swim competivly (SP) But I suck at butterfly.

  • ....

  • The butterfly is my best stroke, but it took a long time to master it! This video helped me a little more....=]

  • i kick ass at butterfly this video made me better @it!

  • Im awesome at fly, and this is very correct

  • Comment removed
