The American version, ALP-46, is derived from the DBAG Class 101. The first locomotive we see is a The ES64F and the two in double traction are ES64F4's (multi-voltage loco's), newer versions of the class 101. So in a sense, the ALP-46 and the locomotives seen in this video do have a common ancestor, and they do look similar... however, if you look closely at pics or vids of both types of locomotives you'll see that they are clearly not identical.
I wish I could drive trains in Germany :( It'd be such a great job during the summer, inbeween teaching. Especially in Bavaria... oh Bavaria, how I miss thee...

I do believe I run the American version of the Cargo locomotives her in the US. We call them ALP-46s and use them in passenger service.
