@guanaguacoa I agree with the interrogation part, it almost certainly would have occurred under the Bush administration, but Barack needed an immediate boost to his popularity, and torturing a dangerous POW would have gone against the whole Guantanamo deal. However, on the part of it being illegal, it was on foreign soil where many people are publicly executed without a trial, so not illegal in their society, and it at least accomplished removing a major source of funding.

Killing him though prevents inconvenient questions from coming up like 'how good is the evidence that he pulled off 9/11', 'how long was he on the CIA payroll', 'who in government worked with him back in the day', etc, etc.

So to talk about the "rule of law," as though they should read him his Miranda rights, is silly.

However, on the part of it being illegal, it was on foreign soil where many people are publicly executed without a trial, so not illegal in their society, and it at least accomplished removing a major source of funding.

The civilian rules of law and militant rules of engagement are different. If Bin Laden was unarmed and willing to go peacefully Seal Team Six would have taken him captive. If he even appeared to be different, because he was a dangerous enemy combatant, they have the right to treat him as such and kill him, if they did any differently they would be risking their OWN lives. So to talk about the "rule of law," as though they should read him his Miranda rights, is silly.

HE took money from America, and then used it to help get rid of the Soviets who wanted to take over Afghanistan? Then, he decided he didn't like America and got a whole bunch of money from somewhere to start up Al Qaida. Then, with America's permission (?) he decided to bomb America - using some dopey Muslims (to do doing what America wanted) to start a war over...?

It was truly despicable on the part of The One. Have you ever had a manager who took the credit for your hard work & accomplishments? I have. I hated it. For two years and more this Clueless Suit (Obama) has been blaming everything on Bush, and, now that the Bush teams have killed Osama Bin Laden, Mr. Narcissist steps up to the plate and says "I did it."

@henrycate it wasn't the "bush team", seal team six has been around since the 80s, they weren't personally trained by the president himself. bush "cared" about capturing osama for the first couple months after 9/11 because the public needed him to care. he then let the bin laden family leave the country although the rest of america was grounded. the "bush team" even had a chance to catch him, having found his position in the mountains, but didn't go for it

@henrycate and obama gave credit to the intelligence that was built since 9/11, he said that "we went to war against Al Qaeda to protect our citizens, our friends, and our allies. Over the last ten years, thanks to the tireless and heroic work of our military and our counterterrorism professionals, we’ve made great strides in that effort." on may 2. he then reiterated thanking the intelligence staff of the past ten years the following day, since, there the ones who actually did the work.

Klavan hits a home run once again. Michael Moore and Nancy Pelosi can easily be identified as hypocrites and frauds with a bit of research and a minute application of common sense. However, Colbert is intelligent and a bit craftier. The video clip comparison of his responses to special ops outed the "comedian" as well. The sloppiness of The Comedy Central's Bill O'Reilly mock-man suprises me.

I have to agree with the fat guy on this one. Adolf Eichman caused the death of more people in a day, than Bin Laden had in his entire life, and still was granted a trial and a legal defense. If the USA wanted to become "the bigger person" in this picture, they should have captured Bin Laden and trial him for his crimes.

If President Obama saved Andrew Klavan's mother from a burning building he still wouldn't give him credit. In fact it was President Obama's decision NOT to bomb the compound but to indeed use Navy Seals to a) have bin Laden's body to prove he was dead and b) save the computers and info to prevent future al Qaeda attacks. The LORD still cares for Osama's soul, & we are to love our enemies, so Osama's death brings mixed emotions: His soul is unrecoverable, yet future victims are preserved. It is great news this evil has been thwarted & justice served, it is not great news that a soul has been lost. The LORD allowed Osama over 50 years to seek the God of love, yet he refused & sought the god of vengeance.
