@AmandacooL8 No, just the ones that are infected. The worm lays its eggs in grass that is near water & crickets & grasshoppers pick them up. The eggs turn into worms inside of them & when time to get out they make the cricket look for water then they burst out later laying their own eggs. This crickets was in a tiny puddle between the tiles which had almost completely dried up. Humans can't get them.

They grow inside the cricket as a parasite. I guess in the gut of the cricket. When it is time for them to mate, they affect the brain of the cricket & it causes the cricket to search for water. Once in a damp or watery place they leave the host cricket, then knot up together as they mate. They lay their eggs in the water for another cricket to come along.

They die on their own once they come out of the cricket unless the worm comes out where there is water. Then the worm finishes its life cycle in and near water.
