This was my very first zone I leveled in with my wizard Erudite in Dec '99. I was completely lost, confused and died constantly. I spent a lot of time the first few days medding by the guards because I needed them to finish off the beetles and spiders & skels from training my self so many times

Once in a while a level 30-40 would pass through from the druid gate and buff me. Suddenly I was able to level easily. I thought they were gods. =p

I was an Erudite Paladin. Would have liked to play a bard before the nerfs. My favorite class race combos-Druid Halfling & Iksar Monk (Human oldschool) I didn't get into the Monk until the Iksar though. I enjoyed Blackburrow so much during my first time through there and then the Karanas! My first "That guy was uber" moment, was seeing a Dwarvish paladin slay a hill giant. I very much enjoyed the rare ALL ALL illusions in-game. Guise of Deciever I had to win from Gambling.

heh my 1st character was an erudite necromancer. only problem was not being able to leave the island...heh so i spent tons of time in the forest where this music would play. kept me sane and immersed in the game.

At least back then... when we were playing in EQ1, we COULD listen to the beautiful music. Now you can't cuz u got to listen to people talk in vent. :( Lazy typers you all are! And I want my EQ1 back... but I can't go back, I don't have my account anymore /cry.

EQ1 is like my first love, I always feel sad when I heard that name.

/cry What a great game it was. Best ever and forever! (Unfortunately) because since EQ1, I can't find another MMORPG wich satisfy me as much as EQ1 did for me.

@theborg1981 One of the (many) things that i really enjoyed about eq1 was the fact that there WAS NO VENT. I really dont like listening to people talk while im trying to play a game, it takes away from the ability to become really immersed. Sadly, this is the type of gennie i fear wont ever go back in the bottle /cry

@theborg1981 dudei totally relate to you but EQ is still great and if people continue leaving EQ will be dead and we'll all mourn. We cant go back to the past but we can make sure the future is bright so come on back to EQ and join your old friends or make new ones and bring some others along with you

lol same here. one of my biggest regrets is i didn't play a necromancer when i first played. by the time i did it the game had already started to die down and i loved the class =/

Best song in the whole game--always turned the music up on this one while running along the river on those bank runs from South Karana to Qeynos.
