Nearly finished my masterpiece. I was just wondering if in the keyframe process, you could gradually make the person shrink as he gets further away from the camera?
We do not produce content about Windows Movie Maker. In our view, it is too low-end and limited in its features. Starting around $100 you can choose from several excellent programs out there that are perfect for videographers just starting out. A link to our most recent Software Buyer's Guide has been posted in the description for this clip (top right). We strongly suggest you consider upgrading to a more powerful program, you won't regret it! Good luck!
@bouchandre Well after effects is good for special effects but not really standard editing as its quite a demanding program so sony vegas makes a good standard editing one. Or premier if you want
I am using sony vegas 7, and when i drag the picture off the screen( to mimic person getting hit) it goes further then the video. Like it is dragged into some of the black parts after the video footage border ends. In the Vegas video preview box this is not a problem. Wondering if you could help.
It looks cool! However I would use a different reaction because it looks a little fake. For example at 2:23 you bend over before the truck even hits you, so as a result it looks a little off. But other than that it looks good! ^^
That actually looked good. i guess i didn't know you could do it like that. I did another way but this looks easier and i can actually do it with my editing software.
what the heck?!?! You dont need to use photoshop for anything here. the could just use a still frame and masking, which can all be done in premiere!!!!!!!!!
Yes, it would make a difference, since Photoshop is better at masking. However, the subject is only visible for a few frames, so if you just do some blur on it, Premiere would be fine.
I would definitely use Premiere for something as simple as this, but that doesn't mean that Photoshop still would do a slightly better job.
Erfa90: if you shoot this in HD you have a lot less room for "fudging". And even in SD, blurring doesn't fool anyone and your FX ends up looking cheap.
Since the footage of the actor "flying off" is only a few frames, I'd take the time to film him in motion (like flaying his arms) and masking each frame in Photoshop.
Another great tip using compressed perspective. Another way to do the first take, and perhaps yield more realistic results, would be using a stunt dummy hit by the truck in the second footage - of course, you want the cooperation of the driver :-) The dummy will bounce off more realistically and flay like a real person. Just cut from the perosn footage to the dummy footage, and no one will notice.
that's just what i need for sound and edit. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

I have to laugh at some of these ridiculous comments, these are some fab tips for amateur film makers and at the very least gives some great ideas.
Yet looking at some of these comments it seems people expect Steven Spielberg type special effects.
What makes me laugh is that most of the comments are from idiots who have never even uploaded a video of their own.
Nice work guys, keep up the excellent videos. Ignore the users who only seem intent on logging in & slagging off other users videos.

True, but Photoshops tools are much better for doing that.
Erfa90 3 years ago
well for this it would make no difference, it's only masking. it would be alot faster to just use it in premiere.
