  • is it true that the writing in chinese does not have letters but every word has special design that you only need to memerize how to draw that word unlike the other languages that need to put letters to make one word>?

  • @moe80ca Basically. Most other languages are phonetic, meaning their writing systems spell out certain sounds. Chinese characters are pictograms (they symbolize objects or concepts) and the pronunciation can not be picked out of characters unless you have already memorized them.

  • @52849266 It's somewhat similiar to English tbh It's like when you use get got got/gotten you understand the meaning of get/got/gotten by the rest of the sentence.

  • Good Morning isn't NI ZAO!It's in fact ZAO AN!

  • @GintokisGirl95 hi im a native chinese ,learning english now . if anyone want to chat with me add me .my skype name is yamahooya.add me pls.we can help with each other.

  • @yamahooya I don't have a Skype, but if I did, then I would've.

  • I found some good teaching material on the internet. Google "Ferd'nand".

These are wordless cartoons. I have the students describe the situation trying to use all the important structures. Then I have the students role play the situation.

I've had a lot of success with this. It's the fastest way I've seen to give them a good command of important structures.

This is good material for language exchanges too. It's good for any language.

  • ni hao ni ţao ni hao hau ma uo hăn hao hau şieşie ni nă uo ie hăn hao saiţien

  • WORNG THIS IS PUTONGHUA

  • Tones are everything in pronuncing Chinese, which is why they should always be included! After all, Chinese is not alphabetical based on sounds but a pictographic language based on object representation and meaning!

  • ughh.... i'm so tired of learning chinese, i wish they had an alphabet instead of thousands of unnecessarily complex hanzi, it's so tonal and unemotional but i have to move to taiwan i HAVE to, i gotta go back uhuhuhhh...

  • if they ave alphabet instd of thousand of hanzi..

den dat wuldn't b called ''chinese''.

    lolx

    so gud luck~~

    x

  • if they switched to completely to pinyin or at some point in the past made developed an alphabet rather than using combinations pictograph characters and radicals.

  • it would still be chinese

  • xDD

    srly..

i fink korean wuld b d hardest instd of chinese..

    bt still dat's chinese lorhx~~

    so..

    加油??

    can u read??

    xPP

    x

  • haha no, the second one looks familiar. i remember more japanese written and spoken i learned four years ago in highschool than i do chinese i learned a few weeks ago. i think korean would be easier, coz you can kinda spell things out. you can write down what you hear. in chinese you can't write down what you hear if it's a word you don't know.;

  • okie den means u can read korean??

so actually 加油is sumfink lyk 아자??

    o_0

even korean says korean is quite difficult for 'em..

    u're so confidence huh??

    xDD

bt chinese u can wryt in pinyin if in ur situation..

    lollolx

  • no. i only said that i think korean would be easier. nor do i know korean. sure i can write pinyin, pinyin is easy shit, if i hear it i can write it down without mistake like 90% of the time.

    How do u study chinese?

I would very much appreciated it if u could post it up for everyone to learn. Thank u. :)

  • 学中文,呵呵好啊

    learning Chinese,that's great

  • you got the tones of HEN wrong its rising not falling rising.

and ni hao ma doesnt not translate into HOW ARE YOU.. it mostly used when there is some concern.

  • really? becuase i go to a Chinese church and they say ni hao ma all the time..

  • I live in China, so maybe its out of politeness.

  • oh, i see

  • Actually, "hen" is a third tone (falling rising). However, before another third tone it changes into the second tone (rising) and you can hear that she is pronouncing it like that. The pinyin transcription remains in the third tone...

Popular example: Ni hao. Spoken: Ni(2) hao(3), written: Ni(3) hao (3).

  • Just a link to a pay site?

  • Ni hao Wo shi le qi er... zao shang hao... zai jian x mwah x
