While you are quite a good drummer, can't argue with that, this isn't really accurate. It does sound similar, but you have really "overdone" it in most places (especially cymbals), while other parts sound very different from the song.

A job well done, nevertheless.

Ok, keep in mind that this is not-drummer -comment. You do play this song extremely well and i could not even compete with that, but there's something missing. I find your playing bit too light. It's like you touch the drums, but do not hit them. I am pretty sure that i am going to be beaten by drumsticks after saying this :D.

i wont beat you with drumstick but as a drummer i will point out that in order to play fast you need to play closer to the head and with quick deliberate movements, finesse has alot of use in death metal drumming as in jazz. it also makes sense in terms of conserving energy over such a long peice. you could never play that whole song with all your might all the way through, at that speed. if you watch death metal dummers the best ones barely move at all.

very good, buddy! I think some of the songs on Ziltoids are virtually unplayable for a human being. I cant remember their names now, but there are some parts on those songs that Devin only could write with drumkits form hell. the double kick is just too darn fast.

You'd be surprised actually considering that every piece of the drumkit from hell software is actually from a recording session with an actual real-life drummer.

The individual hits are Tomas Haake (Meshuggah). However, the method of recording has nothing to do with how you program the drums. It is certainly possible to program impossible drums with DFH. However, Gene Hoglan and several others could probably play all of Ziltoid. And I'd love to see it!

Not all of. There is some stuff that would take two drummers to do. It is rare to hear it on the album, but there are bits where three arms are pretty much required. xD

Thanks alot! I guess you could call what I do more of a 'project' of sorts... If you head over to my profile you'll see a vid me and my friend put together covering 'Fan Song' by Dethklok. We have some stuff on myspace at myspace . com/drmetalmusic if you want to check it out, but that stuff is friggin' OLD so don't use it to judge quality (i.e. it was all done in one take with very limited recording and mixing hardware).

Cheers, i'll check it out. Good luck, I hope you will or already are into drumming as a profession. Touring with bands, recording and that kind of stuff. You could definetly set up great drum classes. Or are you already involved in all these things?

Unfortunately, my profession has basically nothing to do with drumming (or music for that matter) I'm active duty Coast Guard; however, there are a couple people that I give lessons to on a regular basis. Not really as a job but just to help them out. Thanks again for the comments!
