When Rorion Gracie began to tell the world about BJJ through UFC which he created, Rorion deliberately omitted the truth about his uncle Carlos, and his role in bringing BJJ to the Gracie family. So Carlos is barely spoken of when you talk about Jiu-Jitsu which is a Japanese art. Helio added some things but it's still Japanese Jiu-Jitsu with a Brazilian twist. Carlos Gracie is the Father of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Helio help revolutionize it but he is not the Father

Helio did not create MMA, he revolutionized JIu-Jitsu. His system was that it could beat any system, it was not MMA it was Jiu-Jitsu. And all though I give Helio much respect for what he contributed, he is not the father of BJJ Carlos Gracie is, Helio added some things but for the most the BJJ we know today is a cornicopia of many men who added many things, Rolls added aspect of wrestling, the half guard was created by a Gracie Barra student.
