If you know of anyone who is in hospital or homebound due to serious illness, the best thing you can bring them besides a dog or cat to sit with them is a mini-DVD player and a collection of Leslie Nielsen's work ("Airplane", "The Naked Gun" series, "Police Squad"; and maybe a copy "Forbidden Planet", which wasn't meant to be funny, but has it's moments). 2 days after my spleen was removed, I nearly popped the staples holding me together watching "The Naked Gun". I would have died laughing.
