I have honestly killed alot of squirrels, and kind of feel bad for it. They don't harm anything around here, just eat acorns and make nests. There is quite an abundance of them, they make nests in the trees and we have never had an issue with them even in the attic. But that is in wisconsin, they may be worse elsewhere. Here we worry about stuff like coyotes and wolves,black bears, fishers, weasels, etc.... They all get the .338 win mag and .375 h&h treatment when it's necessary. It works

my computer kept screwin up i apoligze thats how my luck is too i was about to kill a squirrel with a 30-30 or a 30-06 they started making me mad because I didnt see any deer last year but 3 and a big buck but one i shot it was a 3 pointer but it was my first deer so i was happy.
the lr is referring to the size round it can fire. if im correct there just .22 rounds, .22lr and .22magnum. not positive about the last one but the first two i know of. thats the order they go in also. most common one nowadays are .22lr

Good video, nicely informative. I use a pellet gun with .177's, it has 1080, perfect for squirrels. It isn't too loud but will still startle the squirrels into hiding for a few min, but not as bad as a .22. I have a .22 but prefer the pellet gun.You can buy a squirrel call on Cabela's website for about $12, it work great. I am 14, go for small game and big game, and loving hunting!

This is pretty good and educational. I used to use a shotgun and .22
However I prefer bow hunting them now.
1. Improves your accuracy with the bow.
2. You need to stalk up closer.
3. Great tasty meat you process yourself.
4. Population control of the animal.
5. Small game hunting is used to help teach young new hunters how to hunt. And be a responsible hunter and not waste game animals for fun.

no, i use a 12 guage or 16, but i like the 12 guage with 7 1/2 shot, it doesnt massare them unless your real close but where i hunt its perfect.

The way my luck goes is...take a squirrel rifle or shotgun, and you see a huge deer and no squirrels. Take a deer rifle and you see nothing but squirrels. Take both and you're not gonna see anything. lol

my computer kept screwin up i apoligze thats how my luck is too i was about to kill a squirrel with a 30-30 or a 30-06 they started making me mad because I didnt see any deer last year but 3 and a big buck but one i shot it was a 3 pointer but it was my first deer so i was happy.

We call them cat squirrels in Louisiana. They're actually usually better than Fox squirrels because they're littler and more tender.

the lr is referring to the size round it can fire. if im correct there just .22 rounds, .22lr and .22magnum. not positive about the last one but the first two i know of. thats the order they go in also. most common one nowadays are .22lr

@presto1210 the lr in 22lr means long rifle. there is also 22 magnum, 22 hornet, 22 short, 22 long, and last the 22 long rifle. 22 means the diameter of the bullet in the cartridge. Some other popular centerfire rounds that shoot the 22 caliber are the .223, the 5.56x45, and 22-250

I am a ametuer hunter and i want to know what kind of gun would you need for rabbit and squirrel hunting. im getting an airsoft gun that shoots 600 fps with pellets but i dont know if that would kill anything. Can anyone help?

hey i would use a 17 hmr to hunt with but the bullets are a bit expensive, so i would go with a 22 long rifle, there small but powerful enough to kill bunnies and squirrel

well you can incresce your kill count by using any of the many models of 20 gauge pump action shotguns avalible on th market today
(your margin of missing the squirrel is greatly decreased)

Good video, nicely informative. I use a pellet gun with .177's, it has 1080, perfect for squirrels. It isn't too loud but will still startle the squirrels into hiding for a few min, but not as bad as a .22. I have a .22 but prefer the pellet gun.You can buy a squirrel call on Cabela's website for about $12, it work great. I am 14, go for small game and big game, and loving hunting!

during the fall they come out all the time gathering nuts and fruit... but during the winter when it's snowing and cold out their hibernating just like bears and will come out during the spring or in rare cases if they run outta food in the winter

Baked in a browning bag and then served with gravy.... Mmmmmm. They are really tender that way. How do you fix yours. Maybe that is why you are so grumpy. Try fixing them that way. Oh yeah, don't forget to add a little hot pepper and vinegar to the gravy. That really sets it off.
