  • its so nice to see that people still know what does a real music mean

  • @LifesRocknRoll

it means not giving a shit about what you think is 'not real music'.

    You have thus failed.

  • the band Om probably listens to this song every time they get ready to do another album.

  • @whosaidwhatwhen So true. :-|

  • Why is it that so much of the world's best music is furnished by the occult?

  • panteism

  • MY MAHA MANTRA...

  • one hell of a trip !

  • Used to play this song when I was a kid, my grandfather didn't like it because it made him think of WW2, the invasion of Saipan specifically, weird! Always gave me a pretty decent eargasm, like mdg mentioned!

  • This was one of the songs on the Laserium program at Griffith Park Observatory in the late 70s. Sober, sauced, or stoned, it was awesome.

  • Like if u r high !!!

  • Nice one captin, but an inappropriate moniker. I think we all know that insanity is the path for people who don't listen to Pink Floyd

  • Nice job on the visualisation.

  • I could listen to this all day, and I think I will.

  • my favorite pot smokin' tune.

  • Gosto do video Cilp .

  • May the 8 who didn't like the track suffer a coma for a hundred years or so only to wake up in a gloomy London like city where they are the only living humans in this city (all humans had moved to another planet) , the problem is that all of these left out souls have lost their breeding organs and above all this track is played over and over again in the back of their lives ...

  • @Zepplica911 lol shut the fuck up man, pink floyd is my favorite and all, and unbelievable things go through my mind as i listen to this but why should they suffer if they dont like it? silly fuck

    hotfile(dot)com/list/998266/b8d7e5d

  • the only pink floyd with all 5 members included :

Syd Barret, David Gilmour, Richard Wright, Roger Waters, Nick Mason.

    WOW!

  • this should be used as a motivation to quit drugs, it's a replacement!

  • great effort captininsanity - you're on the right track with this one... :-)

  • I am still trying to figure out what you were one to decide to use fish tank imagery to accompany a song about flying into the sun. It's freaking hilarious. Don't get me wrong.

  • The only Pink Floyd song that has all five members playing.

  • @Kylev2

probably but some are not sure

  • This is awesome but i wanna hear placebo's cover! They do fucking awesome covers ^.^ .

  • @Gnoma2345

You can't cover Pink Floyd's Songs This is aLaw

  • @TheJefferson1970

well i cover songs and love it

  • @Gnoma2345 placebo can suck a nut. NO ONE covers pink floyds songs and makes them good.

  • @DanielJoseDiego Dream theater :P

  • @TheCandygod mmm,,, nope. no one. Well, you can do a good cover, a different cover, but not "better" than Pink, that's what I meant. Sorry bout my previous comment.

  • @DanielJoseDiego Hey,it's ok ;)

Just thought i'd mix things up by mentioning one of the few bands I think is better than floyd.

Although yeah, DTs floyd covers aren't too great, the singer sounded quite tired, then again he had performed a whole show beforehand...

  • I'd swear that they used this drum-beat again in a similar way for "Time" later on in 1970's! Nick gives the drums a powerful, steady beat all the way through, increasing the intensity toward the end. David and Rodger give soft, subtle sounds w/guitars that imitate sitars; then with Rodger's seductive voice and Richard Wright's organ playing, gives a certain Oriental/Arabian feel to it, making it a bewitching/exotic brew!

  • :) i love this record :)

  • woow!! trippy homie, good work.

  • Shit, I'm jealous because I have not made this video, i really like it. Captaininsanity, you'r my hero!

  • I'm planning on making my own videos, If you have time can you explain what programs to use, and where you found some of these clips. Thanks!

  • this is great with weed

  • @MatthewFrazierr It's great without weed too :-)

  • @colouredmirrorball true true

  • i like to think that oysters transcend national barriers

  • Straight to Favorites. =D I just love these "home made" video to go with Pink Floyd songs. Specially all these psychedelic themes from their first 2 albums.

  • I first heard this tune on VH1 Classic a few years ago and I've loved it since. Definitely an underrated gem in the Pink Floyd catalog.

  • very cool

  • who needs drugs when you have pink floyd?? :) :)

  • @worldidiot0

    me.........lol

  • @worldidiot0 why not combine both

  • @worldidiot0

    Why not combine it;)

  • @HerbalistNL - the last time i did that, the middle bit of echoes gave me some crazy (but not in a good way) trips.

  • @worldidiot0 How about drugs and pink floyd

  • @worldidiot0 why wouldnt you have both?? :) :)

  • @worldidiot0

    yep

  • @worldidiot0 who needs pink floyd when uv got drugs?............or better still "who needs anything if uv got pink floyd & drugs?...........

  • @worldidiot0 and drugs + pink floyd is a great combo!

  • @worldidiot0 you are right man!!!!!!!

  • cant we have both. they do go together pretty well.

  • @worldidiot0 Ironically I belive the answer to that question is pink floyd

  • @worldidiot0

Well, as Otto the bus driver said in a Simpsons episode: "I don't need drugs to enjoy this.... - just to enhance it"

  • @worldidiot0 i totally agree!!

  • ok, speaking of mind-altering stuff to go along w/this outstanding song, I have to admit I'm halfway thru a bottle of vodka (out of pot, and done w/harder drugs...bummer, yes) and this is heaven on earth to me. I'm just trying to find a nice youtube version of this tune to put on my myspace page, then it's back to my ummagumma version w/headphones to help me drift off to a blissful sleep. If I die tonight, I'll die a happy man. Cheers...

  • Some music gives you eargasms. Pink Floyd gives me a fucking Mind-gasm.

  • Almost every Pink Floyd song gives me a mindfuck! I could listen 2 a song like Atom Heart Mother and doze off into a trip!

  • Nice Dude, very nice!!

  • Woaw.......@_@

  • its the only one of their tunes to every feature all five members on it.

  • That movie is fucking my brain. xD

  • First time I heard this song, fell in love with it. Try listening to this song at 2:00am with a bottle of wine.

    FUCK ME STUPID!

  • ha ha...been there done that!

  • lol. I'd rather listen to it at 5am with half a ten strip on my tongue ;)

  • thats sick!! I first listened 2 this song at 1:00 AM. Such an amazing experience with this song!

  • scarying music ! two tumbs up !

  • i dont think a dimebag would last thorugh a pink floyd album ud need at leat a an eigth as long as their shit goes and if u watch live at pompeii everysongs longer but its a good thing

  • I bet you have listened to them albums like piper at the gates of dawn, meddle obscured by clouds and atom heart mother. the only floyd album I don't like is more, even the name more just sounds as if the whole album is a filler. greatest band of all time .

  • I can see through time

  • Speaking as one of the greatest Pink Floyd fans I can say that you have done this song justice with your video

    Long live Floyd ....

  • the best Music ............PINK FLOYD

  • the heart of the sun,the heasrt of the sun, heart of sun!!!!

  • this video + a dime bag, and o what a night you will have

  • Supreme psychedelia!

  • Ahh, nothing like some good old Pink Floyd after a hard day's work.

    5/5!

  • exacllyy

    pish

  • i fucking love this song/trip!

  • PURE ACID TRIPP

  • Pink Floyd is, without a doubt, my favorite band. But I've never listened to anything earlier than Dark Side of the Moon. Now I know, I was missing same damned good stuff!

  • you need to do some serious listening, they had 7 great albums even before dark side of the moon.

  • Nice vid man, thx alot!

  • It is because it is in locrian mode, the least used and most unusual of the medieval modes.

  • after syd barrett was gone....

  • I agree that this is a fantastic album, possibly their best. That being said, you cannot discount the stuff made after their 'commercialization'. There's a reason Dark Side still charts, and that's because it's an amazing album. And of course you also have Wish You Were Here and The Wall. They're certainly very different when compared to Piper's (though Syd probably has something to do with that) or Atom Heart Mother. All their albums have strong and weak points. But Saucerful is AMAZING!

  • I think they were pretty aware of their commercial phase and dont really think its unfortunate. They even acknowledge that their real goal (everybody's goal) was to get rich XD

  • If you're gonna write a stupid-ass comment like this, can you at least do it right? It's Astronomy Domine. Asshole.

  • To ThatMiserableCat: "The Dark Side od of the moon" was the last good lp by Pink Floyd. After that Lp fiinished their geniality. The best one was the first, with Syd. Anyway, I agree with you. Bye & kisses to everyone.

  • what was wrong with 'wish you were here' (their tribute to syd),animals and the wall?

  • im on the yellow cloud above the moon smoking the life pipe of space and time

  • Wonderful and dreamy, great PF song! ^_^

  • very well done, fits perfectly with the song! PINK FLOYD FOREVER!!!!

  • I love Pink Floyd ... a beautiful clip ... I am delighted...thank you...

  • this track alwayss gives me that deep gut feeling...fukng amazing lyrics and instruments and the visuals went perfect with it...GOLDEN

  • Hey, a great vid. Five stars and the sun from me !

  • hahahaha

  • And you see, I think that great music should always have some power, transcendent and cultural rhythm going in order to inspire people to open their minds to life more. Music is too much of a sacred and unique medium and it bothers me that it is being abused so much. So I'm not knocking your comment much at all. I think that great music is going to make a revival though. You just need to be intuitive that it will happen.

  • Pink Floyd is the greatest band that will ever exist.

  • Ah, my favorite pink Floyd song.

  • wonderful,weird images on a great song,5/5 !!!!

  • The 1349 cover is incredible

  • nice visualization and cool synchronizing!

  • Pink Floyd started off as a psychedelic band in the 60s. Songs like this and Interstellar Overdrive pioneered the 'space rock' genre of the 70s,inspiring the likes of Hawkwind, early Tangerine Dream,Amon Duu II,Magma

    and Ashra Tempel.

  • It's so hypnotic... @_@

  • I almost can not believe that Norwegian black metal band 1349 did a coverversion of this on their forthcoming album.

  • their version kicks ass... Christraping Dark Evil Black Metal !

  • the number one

  • This album help christen the many new FM stations springing up back then.

  • i have this album and its very psychedelic and awesome lol.

  • good job, cap.lol

  • take a lil trip with me..

  • polu xasimo ayto to kommati mages !!

  • i cant say enough about your video great job . thanks

  • "My visualisation to Set the controls by pink floyd. If you listen to pink floyd u'll enjoy it."

    I did.

  • Pink Floyd and King Crimsoms music is soul reaching genius loved it in the 70s as a teen and now....It too good to be shelved away from the mainstream

  • for some reason I cant post the link to their official video sorry. But dear god does Mason look SICK on the drums in that video.

  • rfw45 yes it is 60's here a link to their official video. Pink Floyd were ahead of their times and by far the greatest and most important band of all time.

  • Not now, man. I'm kicking it to the Floyd.

  • its funny how we say ahead of their time, im still waiting for music like this today lol

*crosses fingers for a few more years*

doubt it, so many bands have forgoten about the music and just want money *sigh*

  • If we have a few more years of waiting left.

  • yup thats wat all the bands are about. Money, money, money. Theres NO originality watsoever with the style!

  • Oh don't be such a pessimist! Ever heard of bands like Tool or the Mars Volta or Porcupine Tree? Those bands are just as visionary as PF ever were. Just because they aren't "classic" doesn't mean they are a bunch of hammerhead sharks out to get a paycheck! I agree that the state of music today is somewhat worse today than it was then. But then again EVERY DECADE has produced some bad eggs. Understand???

  • if ud actually read what I said TODAYS band, tool,m mars volta are all good but they didnt come out in the past 2 years all bands these past 2 years that have started are almost all sellouts.

I never said all of them were, Look at the crap like Jonas brothers, Fall out boy, hannon montan etc, all sell out.

  • Well one thing I absolutely miss in today's music is not just great music but great IDEOLOGIES that drive artists to make great music. What made Pink Floyd's early stuff so mind-blowing was that it was inspired by holistic arts like I Ching and Jung depth psychology. I mean Tool integrate those things into their music but not to the depth and imagination that PF did. STCFTHOTS, for example was inspired by the I Ching just like Chapter 24 from PATGOD.

  • nowhere near pink floyd

  • Who are you referring to? Do you mean the bands that I mentioned?

  • yea

  • according to an interview (or someone fucking with me on wikipedia) apparently roger waters said they made this song by taking the lyric out of a chinese poem book

    whatever this shit is great
