Tom Teeley - one of the finest musicians I have ever known and one of the most creative too! Joy Askew - a force of nature as well. What an amazing assemblage of talent in this video
Great vid. I just wish that there were some more album tracks in it, like "Trying to Cry," "It's All Too Much," "The Other Me," and the sublime "Stranger Than Fiction."
Saw Joe on the mini tour in Boston in September 1990 before they recorded Laughter. Was great to see them working through the new songs before the album was recorded.
@evelynmh It was nice to see Graham grooving along to The Old Songs @4:15, one of my favourites from this album, which is, ironically, now 20 years old.
"Play us another one, Play us the hopes and dreams of 20 years ago, They're all over the bloody radio"
I get the "rice cake" quip at 4:30 but wonder about the rack of lamb line of inquiry. Maybe Graham's dental dilemma @7:30 was caused by a lamb cutlet?

20 years later, not too late, I finally get some picture of this great album. Thanks.

@6:30 assuming a standard champagne bottle = 750ml, then the answer is 6.75 litres, not a lot if shared between all those people.

I wonder what Joe had for breakfast? Just the champagne maybe?

I loved this "behind the scenes" home movie. Thanks for uploading. Hope there's more instalments.

@twisteddsister looks like everyone had a great time making this recording...esp Joe and his champagne

@evelynmh Maybe it was a case of "let's drink champagne 'fore they bring back Prohibition"

@evelynmh I've solved a dozen cases lately. There weren't too many clues. It was a leg of lamb. One just has to be patient now.
