Where are the Billy Sundays of today? Just don't see or hear 'em, if they're even there at all. Too many preachers must enjoy their booze, beer, or wine to even talk about it. I've been an independent Baptist for 40 years and can count on one hand the sermons I've heard in which the preacher dared to tell his audience that alcohol and everything connected with it is wicked SIN! Many thousands are in Hell today simply because some boozer drove a car after a night of drinking and killed them!

I would agree that Sunday got the the gospel mixed with moralism. Sanctification is not conformity to a moral code but rather the working of God's grace in the heart to the conformity of the image of God's son. But apart of that work is the usage of appropiate and inappropiate language.

A long list of good and wonderful things can be written for those that live under the will of God and in obediance to God's Word. I cannot find one sacred or good thing that comes out of the consumption of alchohol... can you? Jesus Christ has been and always will be the only true way to Heaven.
