@madloz76 So what exactly ARE they doing? I'm guessing (yes I know) :) there's a type of food over there eaten charred black? Or what is that on the grill?
@madloz76 I just figured you'd be able to explain half of what's going on there with the grill and picnic being from there. :) Are there things that are actually served that way by you? ....Cultural thing maybe, I figured?
Sorry, now I get you. The men are drinking and no doubt are talking about sport. The women would be catching up on the latest gossip.
As this happens the food ends up burnt. This has happened. So you go hungry or you try to eat it.
Things have changed, thankfully. As long as someone is watching over the grill the food shouldn't end up burnt. Then again it depends on how much the cook is drinking. No one wants burnt food.
No, originally I figured that, but when I read your comment about figuring out Australia I'm like; "Is there something I'm missing?" I mean, when you make corn on the cob on the grill, even though you soak the cobs for several hours first, the husks get black, so I figured it maybe was something along that line that was meant to get (well) done.
As an Australian I tend to cringe when other cultures (especially American's), try to guess what we are like as a culture.
This is pretty spot on. It made me laugh. I miss Fraggle Rock.

It looks to be a mix of sausages, lamb chops and steak. When there that badly burnt it's hard to tell.

I am about as familiar with that expression as Travelling Matt is. But then again I'm from Indiana.
