  • This was beautiful!

  • I think this is somewhere north, maybe Hokkaido. I love all the background noise, thank god the uploader didn't spoil it by adding music.

  • fearfully rude... and asshole!

  • Comment removed

  • Well, for some people, doing what she did can be seen as a rude thing, but since the Owner and most of the people there weren't bothered by it, it's not that bad. I love the idea she had though. Keep it up!

  • This is the original video. Lost in a moment By: Shrift

  • Its like the famous long tracking shot in Goodfellas but without the gangsters.

  • You know.... if someone tried something like this in the US. People would probably get all bent out of shape about it.

"WHO ARE YOU!?! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO RECORD ME! I'M GONNA SUE YOUR ASS OFF, PAL!"

OR.... someone would probably grab the camera and shout out "HEY WHOSE CAMERA IS THIS?!! HEY!!!!.... IS THIS SOMEBODYS CAMERAAAA!?!?!!!!!!"

either way. we would've ruined it.

  • @underlinedbluetext I would watch THAT for sure ! As long as nobody takes it or turns it off. :D

  • @underlinedbluetext So true. Not to mention that someone would've likely stolen the camera.

  • That is the most adorable little girl I have ever seen at 3:52 :-)

  • XD i found this highly amusing XD though i agree with some of these people, maybe they didnt wanna be captured on footage

  • Well done. I can't say that I don't want to do this myself, but I'd have reservations about capturing footage of other customers without their consent.

  • im not that far into the vid and im already laughing cuz the ppl are like "qth is that going around?!?!"

  • sorry, but I think that that was kind of rude. I mean you are taking a video of people who may not even want to end up on Youtube, sure the owner or manager might have said you could, but you didn't take others into consideration... sorry to be hating on the video.

  • nice, clean and friendly, i would eat there too!!

  • Why did I watch all eight minutes????

  • Epic win to the staff for putting it back on the conveyor belt.

  • Japanese children are the cutest in the world.

  • @mythirdoi Most kids are, until they learn to speak and walk in on their older siblings watching R rated comedy movies and start quoting lines from it for years.

  • Most common word heard in this video: "Nani?" in various forms ("Nani kore", "kore nani", "nanda?"). Loose translation: "Wha?" and "What's that?"

My favourite part was where the kitchen staff had to decide what to do with it.

  • Japanese people are so nice, super nice. If you do that in my country your watch and camera will be stolen in no time !!! (I'm being sarcastic about the watch hehe, cuz everything valuable that out of supervision, will be stolen here).

I hope Japan will return to it's glory days like in the 80's and 90's.

  • Ah, finally, my camera sushi arrived. Took a while, too...

  • the kid at 1:50 is high as fuuuuuk

  • in the US that thing would've been stolen in 2 seconds!

  • Почему это видео так завораживает?

  • 7+min vid,

    counted 246 plates,

and like 4 pieces of food.

    I'm hungry.

  • @jostler27 It's not a slur. Gaijin simply means foreigner, and addin "-san" is a show of respect.

  • @MJRecession

Thanks for uploading,im amaze they didn't steal it.

  • cool thing it got back to you and didn't get stolen ^^

  • japanese ppl so cuuute^^

  • EPIC

  • great idea

  • Do air port luggage line next time. that'll be interesting. lol

  • Japanese Rosie O'donnell at 1:20 lol

  • why did i watch the whole thing???????? ?_?

  • @toshiru07 Why not??

  • People's reactions to it are so sweet

  • @CHADarK758 "Mmm, that's very good sushi, would you rike some more?"

  • 面白いけど

  • The Quiet Japanese

  • 3:45 there's no native japanese word for camera? huh.

  • @icannotfly There's no native american/english word for camera? huh.

  • @2:42 women uses the force to push camera

  • Brilliant! I was giving the 'peace' sign, hoping they would 'peace' back.

  • 理解があるお店とお客さんですね。

  • That was so cool. A snapshot at life!

  • This is one of the most fasinating videos I have ever seen. Well done! :D

  • I love this video!!! I know it's rude but so fun to watch and it was great to see so many laugh at it going nani?? ha ha what great sports the chefs were putting it back too! Japanese kids are so kawaiiiii !!!

  • Love this video!! lol I know it's rude but such fun to watch and the chefs are such great sports putting it back he he Japanese children are too kawaiiii !!!

  • I actually show this video to my English students. They love it. So do the Japanese teachers.

  • You should have asked for their permission first, not just film them eating

  • Why am I so amazed by this...?

  • in Brazil the camera will be stolen before you take it off your purse.

  • Awsome! This is what youtube is supposed to be for! Not this freakshow stuff!

  • boobs

  • Kudos to you!! I wouldn't have the guts to do it!

  • aajjajaja good

  • Be careful this could be censored by SOPA

  • hipster would probably film this in hd and put some vignetting on it... maybe some tilt shit effect

  • wowww! this actually makes me feel something mesmerizing.. the combination of the slow movement of the camera and how it captures the sushi restaurant and also the atmosphere and the people in it.. so great!!!

sorry for the messed up words.

  • very nice!

  • That was BRILLIANT! I love the kitchen's reactions. I was actually concerned that they were going to keep it for a minute! Great idea!!!

  • こういうことするの止めて。

  • Good work! Ive been there!

  • People are complaining about this video being 240p? Aren't they kinda missing the point... (and I thought the quality was actually pretty good - gotta love the steady nonstop horizontal motion thing)

  • Peace Out! Nah....

  • haha this is so cool! i love it!

  • This was wonderful to see. Thanks for sharing.

  • Awesome idea and I can't believe they let you do that!!!

  • fascinating.

  • There is something in this video.. that made me watch it entirely..

  • @lMobiuscidl japanese people

  • @lMobiuscidl Right? There's something about it. The transition from viewer to participant in this wonderful journey is subtle. I find it strange that I begin to care for the sake of the camera as much as I do. Or maybe, I want only to further my entertainment from this video. But is it so wrong to want? Maybe it depends on what you want? To want a connection with another human being? Perhaps this isn't the place to get that connection, but I can’t help but feel connected as I watch.

  • @hamsterdoom360 you think too much

  • @lMobiuscidl same here and I dont know why i did

  • My favorite one was the guy at 4:35, just eating with his mouth full =P

  • o_o I watched the whole thing...

  • To all the people who are complaining about the quality and all this 240p thing, i think this video was filmed like 15 years ago, just look at how people are dressed.. o.O Even in Slovenia noone dresses like that anymore, let alone Japan.. :D

  • If I were in this video, I would make youtube to erase this shit movie.

  • @mixifunnydays I'm curious why you would want them to erase it? The name of the restaurant is not given, nor is its location in Japan. I'm assuming you're out in public or eating at restaurants all the time where random strangers who don't know you see you. They're not YT partners, so they're not making money from this video. It's just human interest. But I realize that some people think it's rude. Do you feel this way?

  • @myargonauts Fire alarm box, tobacco vending machine, hearing only Japanese language, 水 on wall, no hispanic, black, white other than the kids, melon soda, sitting on floor eating sushi, Please tell me if this is not taken in Japan.

The Restaurant name is on a kitchen worker's apron.

Each person has a right of likeness. And this is also violating privacy of each person. If these kids were filming on a street and I was in it, I wouldnt mind. But this camera directly facing individual.

  • @myargonauts Look at their faces. Almost all are not smiling. As I am a Japanese person, I consider this so annoying to public.

People from western culture never consider others. If they are fun, that is justice. If they bother other people, that is ok if they themselves are fun. I dont know your nationality. But you would never understand if you are one of them. It is not I am out of public or eating at blah blah blah.

  • @mixifunnydays I get your point, but maybe you're taking this whole privacy thing a bit too far. I think they all are surprised by seeing a camera rolling along with their food, but as little as I've heard of what these people say when they "discover" that camera, none of them complained.

There's not such thing as a threat to security here, just an experiment by three foreign girls who were as amazed with Japan as I would be!

    Smile, bro, don't stop playing!

  • @wontlieduck Yes, I took it extremely but I would be glad if you understand there are always people like me. Of course having a fun is highly welcomed but please make sure Japanese people have lived more than 2000 years caring & considering each other. I half enjoy but half dislike this video because of this caring others issue. I would feel much better if this uploader wrote something more in description such as how other customers and the restaurant took it.

  • @mixifunnydays I'm sorry, but you misunderstood my sentence - the name of the location in Japan is not given, meaning you don't know what town in Japan this video was shot in. It could be anywhere in Japan. But yeah, I know it's in Japan. I live in Japan too. I was just curious why people wouldn't want this shown. Thank you for your reasons. As I too make videos in Japan, I want to get all feedback about what people feel is appropriate. Peace.

  • @myargonauts Sorry about the misunderstanding.

As I currently live in the U.S., I dont want to mess up the local culture. I follow cultural rules and pay tips to waiter/waitresses. But a lot of Asians have been in the US and they never adopt American culture. I really believe people from foreign country should at least try to follow the local culture. you can refer to my other comment about this.

Anyway, glad to hear you are in Japan and enjoying.

  • @mixifunnydays: That's a very strange logic. USA is importing educated foreigners specifically to compensate for its own lack of culture. The country is crawling the world in desperate attempt to convince people from civilized world to come over. And it is quite an effort, since today the sentiment is negative - more civilized people are immigrating out of USA that coming in. Saying that foreigners coming to the USA should "adopt American culture" can only undermine that effort even further.

  • @ThatMontmorency I thought immigration is to compensate intellectual work force & pension system in a country. Those immigrants are highly educated people. They adopt American rules. However, people immigrated earlier are not educated well. like not speaking English, not (cant)following rules. They established exclusive communities. I dont say 100% adopt US culture, but follow it and do not bother local culture.

more people moving out is because the US are sucking well in economy. not cltr

  • @mixifunnydays: It is true that educated people don't normally form close isolated communities. Yet at the same time educated people usually consider themselves "expats", as opposed to "immigrants", i.e. they normally don't want to live in USA and don't want to stay in USA permanently. Living in USA is a pretty torturous experience for a person from Civilized World. For this reason, such people don't "adapt" to local culture here. They follow the rules, but they stay away from the "culture".

  • is that Kaneda at 1:46? :D

  • Oh, 240p we meet again.

  • @hockeystard89 ..I'm white

  • Only white people in whole restaurant: films all the asians

  • Lol I like the kids stack.

  • I love Japanese people! lol

  • I hope that the women who filmed this have sent a copy to the restaurant. You'd think they'd acknowledge, even thank, the restaurant by name, too. A bit rude not to, as they have taken a bit of a liberty, despite it being a very nice film.

  • Comment removed

  • Fuckin white people smh

  • @RayCharlesSanders suck my dick chink

  • 240p, we meet again. Ironically this is from Japan, a supposed technological powerhouse yet filmed with a potato.

  • Contrary to popular belief, there were no octopuses trying to rape hot Asian women !!!

  • I feel like sushi right now

  • great idea

  • 1:17 = Classic

  • This is pretty cool!

  • ugly girls!

  • it feels like my head on it going around creepy when they stare at you lol

  • what kind of potato was this filmed with?

  • genius!!!!

  • 240p? come on it's 2012

  • i wonder what the staff in the kitchen said, someone translate. great vid bytheway :)

  • Of course the word gaijin can be used in a negative context. But that is not at all the case here. Cool video by the way :)

  • Thanks for sharing this!

  • Awesome idea!

  • The waiters even turned it at the end to face the customers :D

  • I would've never thought of this. It's rather brilliant.

  • creery grudge faces...

  • So cool, I always wondered what it was liked in a restaurant that has a sushi conveyor.

  • I'm Japanese and let me tell you,"gaijin" IS "foreigner". When people say "gaijin-san", there is no racist context there unless the way they phrase it is intentionally malicious (or sarcastic, or whatever). It's true that we as a ppl tend to distance ourselves from foreigners, but that's more of a wonder/doubt of the unknown. The only reason Japanese ppl would have a negative impression of foreigners is because of the jerks and idiots who aren't respectful of the culture when they come to visit.

  • @mari1127 I study Japanese at university and the way I understand the whole thing around "gaijin" is as follows:

The correct term is gaikokujin, which just means "outside country person" --> inhabitant of a foreign country --> foreigner.

Whereas gaijin simply means "outside person" --> outsider/alien person.

gaijin however is usually used when referring to foreigners, it is less polite than gaikokujin and sometimes considered an offense, but adding -san kinda makes up for it

  • @MrReaperInc honourific/casual. take offence if u feel offended lol

  • @mari1127 also I tend to refer to myself a gaijin simply because it is shorter than gaikokujin... I think a lot of Japanese people also use that logic :P

  • lol that's cool

  • In America the camera will be stolen before it comes back to you. Only in Japan....

  • @vanderley3 Lol

  • @vanderley3 i'm guessing you do not live in america, or live in a very bad part. that would never happen where i live. please remember that there are 300 million people in the united states. the criminals are the minority.

  • I like/love this video and all the haters that don't ... well, obviously you are weird ^o^

  • So THAT'S what it looks like back there...

  • you should have pretended to eat it at the end

  • second person after the kitchen looks like an asian boh3m3, just saying

  • 1: That would make a kick-ass music video

2: I wonder why no one nicked it

3: I wish you could european restaurant owners to allow this stuff

    3: GENIOUS !!!

oh yeah, and also something about spaghetti, i guess

  • @BADtimmay Interesting thought - that would make a kickass music video

  • @volleyball994pimp or flip it off

  • After the camera reached the kitchen the staff took it off the belt because the thought someone left it behind (forgot it) by accident but then the waiter came by and explained that a Gaijin (Foreigner) customer put it on there on purpose so he put it back. Hmm... at least she payed to have it go around.

  • Try that shit in america you will have a stolen camera. : )

  • that was awesome.. someone should translate what everyone says and they put it in annotations :)

  • Cool idea!

    This short movie deserves Oscar!!!

  • lmfao!!

damn i woulda snatched that shit!!!

  • pretty unsanitary

  • Haha most of the Japanese people were nice and so was the owner and waiter of the sushi place!

  • That was fun and an amazing idea!

  • these girls are not hot enough to pull this shit.

  • The owner of the sushi place was ok with it so you cant really argue.

  • You could get some really unflattering candid shots of people eating haha

  • Most of the japanese patrons do not seem to mind it so not sure why people are like OOO bad move. lol

  • Haha its cute! But if i was there i wouldnt have wanted to be filmed..heh but there was such nice people there! Its nice to see regular people of japan~having a nice lunch out~

  • This has been done before. like 2 years ago or so. it went viral but i can't seem to find the video of the orginal.

  • son cojoneses estos japonudos.......

  • Japan's kitchen habits seem a lot more sanitary than America's. Plus if someone took a camera into a kitchen without the manager knowing they would have had a shit fit.

  • I love how no one Turned it off :D

  • Fucking rude gaijin...

  • This is first normal video from Japan I see

  • haha god bless japan

  • boobs. neeext

  • i love the old lady at 1:02 who doesn't even notice the camera lol

  • damit...back into the hands of the white man...><

  • I love the part where the woman says, "なんで?意味を分かった。” I also like when the kid flashes a peace sign and her sister stares and eventually laughs. Awww too cute and funny!
