i have this one but my media controlls are missing and its a peice of crap always freezing and about 4months after purchase it major errors and then you have to take it in to best buy and have them run a harddrive test and mine now works never heats up but not very good for gameing oh and battery life lasts 2and a half with only text programs runing and the wifi intena turned off only about an hour with everything running in power save

i have this and i totally love it and recommend it! BUT.....when i got it it didnt detect the battery...and the mount for the ac adapter came loose and the metal part of the actual adapter got stuck in the computer :( had to get a new part for that (thank you for warranty!) and now its totally fine and awesome and detecting the battery aND i recommend it!!!!!!!!

i have the Toshiba Satellite L305-S5970 and i LOVE it...its the same dark blue as in the video. Everythings perfect, but its a crazy fingerprint magnet! /

mine cost about $696 from Costco...maybe its cuz of the 2 year warranty or not...

i have this exact same laptop, and regardless of what he says about the 3d gaming, it can run 3d games such as counter strike VERY smooth, at around 70 fps.

I've had a Toshiba Satellite for 1 full year, now. Fantastic machince for the price! If you don't want your computer to overheat, don't sit it on a soft surface. I believe that is mentioned in the manual. Overheating due to improper usage is not restricted to just Toshiba laptops.

They have vents on the bottom. I bet you're the type to sit it on your lap, bed, or carpet without sufficient air flow. If you cover the vents, yes it will overheat. That's any computer.

I've had a Satellite L305-S5919 for about a year, dropped it twice (from about 2 ft.) and it still works perfectly. Running Windows 7 on it now with no problems. Definitely worth the $400 I paid for it. So don't bash Toshiba just because you had a bad experience.

Just be extra careful with the power cable or you'll snap it where it connects to the laptop. I've had my L305-S5917 for 4 mos now and my power connector is a little wobbly.

when they mean games, that means full feature games, not the online flash games or Pogo, popcap etc etc. They mean intensive, high quality games..

hl2 runs fine, doom 3 might lag, and most new games are unplayable unless you get a better graphics card.

I want this so bad I need me new laptop and my nephew has a satelite one like this I think and I like his. Plus it's cheap it's like $250 at best buy so that's a great deal. To say that it has alot more features than the small laptops and it has a nice size screen plus it's light. So I'm definetly going to get it. : )

well i bought mine about 2 months ago at office depot for 600 dollars

its pretty good, i use it for vedio games,

its not the best but its not the worst, it gets the work doen, 1-10 i'd rate it a 8

and i haven't seen any at walmart, they have toshiba's with camer's though.

I bought the same one but with a 17 inch display. It's a very good pc. The 4 gigs of ram is very nice. It only has 128MB of Dedicated memory for its video card so its not that much for newer games but I knew it would be fine for me cause I dont play new games. It's a good laptop and worth the price.

I have this and it works great for student work, still runs some games too. the only downside was that it was assembled really poorly. some keys had to be fixed by best buy right out of the box. some weird threads were sticking out of the casing that i cut away, and some of the plastic was not on straight :S

the laptop preforms well, but look it over before you buy it!

I have this same laptop except that it has only 3GB of ram and only b/g wireless. I have the same graphics card and it actually runs World of Warcraft pretty well. I have Vista service pack 1 and it also runs good. I'd recommend this laptop to everybody. Toshiba rules!

this happened to me, right out of the box some of the keys were f'd up. the guy at best buy just pryed it up very carefully with a screw driver and removed some excess plastic that was on the backside of the key, maybe this is what is wrong with yours as well

no webcam, no firewire, analog volume regulator, external audio connectors is in front of you, under the mouse pad, and it very bad location. No base station connector, led indicators of power and HDD looking as on '80s laptops.

I can get much more suitable laptop with the same technical parameters at the same price.

Do your research first, the L305-S5907, does not have firewire, but other than that you are wrong.

It has a webcam, the blue activity led light is bright and kinda bothers me though. It also has a mic. It does face recognition for login if you want.

The indicators are very modern looking in design, and the caps lock is in a great place.

The volume control is not analog, it is digital, the wheel is optical and the one in windows tracks with it. A simple bump of the wheel wont disturb it.

I've been looking for a new laptop and my price range is between 600 to 750 dollars. while I can find a studio 15 for a good price ($684) although I had to downgrade the memory and ram to 2gb and 160gb, I've also found a Toshiba satelite for slightly less (about $634) on sale (I think) at a local store, supposedly sporting 4gb ram and 320gb memory.

Anybody got an opinion which would be the better buy.
