  • I've known for at least 20 years that Stravinsky was a genius, but this just confirmed it. How can something that looks so damned messed up sound so effing good!

  • Stravinsky + Malinowski=

    pretty freaking cool

  • @AndrusPr8 Challenge denied. No way in helllll that's gonna happen. O.O

  • Bravo ceci est une véritable re-création à partir de la musique Disney est jaloux.. merci!

  • I think what attracts me to this piece is that it is by no means beautiful... rather, it makes me feel several emotions one right after another, as if telling a story as background music for whatever tale it is trying to tell. Oddly enough, though, I can't picture exactly what the story is...

  • the animation looks like a really big molecule of something really, really unstable...

  • my ears!!!!!

  • Why Stravinsky born music?

  • The effort is noticed and appreciated; but this piece is far too great to be butchered by such a monotone synthesized program.

  • I was wondering since this is so awesome if you could do the Firebird suite? please :) its my favorite

  • what did you use to make this?

  • @IAMWHOGODMADEME M.A.M. player coded by S. Malinowski.

  • Holy Cow! Waaaay too much fun. Actually the midi is kind of cool because it makes it a little easier to hear all of the "instruments" individually.

  • uhhhhhhhhhhh im nauseous, im feeling sick this is MADNESS!!!!!

  • this is so chaotic O.O looks like it would be fun but really hard to play :PP haha

  • RUN charlie! TAKE THAT GOLDEN TICKET and DONT' STOP RUNNING!

  • this is baadass

  • This is one of my favourite pieces of music ever. I think probably because I watched Fantasia when I was young so fell in love with it then. Not the best recording, of course, because it's midi. But a wonderful video because, again, it makes you appreciate just how much is going on in this piece.

  • I think the computer software / video is even more awesome and amazing than the music itself! :)

  • Igor Stravinsky clearly had no idea what he was doing.

    (just kidding)

  • This song has too many notes. :P But I like it and the video is fun.

  • hi lvbandmore! may i share this on my facebook page? I think it is awesome. I love this!!!

  • @ponlur , thanks. I actually like my "rock" and "8-bit" versions better but I'm glad you like this too :)

  • @lvbandmore I´ll check out the rock and 8-bit too... so may I then recommend this on facebook ?

  • @ponlur Yes, thanks!

  • OH YES! SPLENDID!

  • I honestly, don't know why I love this!! I wonder if we share some type of similar genetics for capricious assertive music! at least I interpreted this song that way. I Don't understand why i like this?? Thanks alot!!

  • I'm glad I resisted the impulse to click off after five seconds; this borders on fascinating.

  • I easily get sucked into your pieces! u r rlly talented to be able to do dis. great talent! :)

this piece is rlly unique... it doesn't make much sense to me, but wen u put it like this to me, its startin to make a tiny bit of sense in my mind. :)

  • Lag at 13:12 :D

  • skeleton ! ! ! good

  • This will be appreciated some day as Beethoven's Große Fuge was.

  • 9:32

  • I think this is v interesting - all the elements of the music are there very clearly.

  • Sounds and looks like I'm on an acid trip

  • Muy bueno, pero en midi suena del nabo u.u

  • I like it because it seems to annoy so many people. It must be good ;) keep it up

  • Fantastic. I have to ask, is this"as is written" from the original score? I hear more going on, and even some different notes, than I'm used to; but then, hearing it on vinyl, with lots of loud instruments is another ball game. I hear the original tempos were too fast for most orchestras to play (although it's been done). You got a great thing going here, I must say. Thanks for posting.

  • @realself1 Thanks! I also find that "electronic" realizations of certain classical works reveal more individual voices and figures than live recordings. Recording an orchestra will always weight certain instruments more than others, but with a version like this I can balance out the voices. Of course that may not be the intention of the composer but it's an interesting "x-ray" view imho...

  • @lvbandmore "It's an interesting x ray viwimho..."

Musically this sounds horrible, but I like your metaphor. This does indeed reveal voices and textures that an aesthetically potable rendition does not (rather like an x-ray of an Old Master painting).

  • Holy crap....what a trainwreck of a song!!! I wouldn't have thought there could be HORRIBLE classical music....but here it is.....p.s. my bone is with stravinsky not the person who posted it.

  • @LV07TSK Horrible classical music to me is Johann Strauss Jr, but different strokes I guess....

  • @LV07TSK You need to listen to an ACTUAL recording of the Rite of Spring before you denounce it on a crappy MIDI recording. If you saw Disney's Fantasia at any point of your life, I'm pretty sure you didn't say out right "This music is a train wreck." The whole dinosaur sequence has music from the Stravinsky's Rite.

P.S. It's not a song, it's a piece/composition/work (one of those three). Song implies that there is singing along with the music. There isn't any singing.

  • @LV07TSK

Trainwreck? This is considered one of the great works of genius ever conceived by human being. Go study your music and come back when you're ready to listen with open ears.

  • This sucks.

  • @dsadwarf I think if you go outside and try to make some friends instead of just whimpering at your computer screen then you will be a happier person. Your welcome.

  • @dsadwarf this guy probably took a lot of time to make this for us, so stop being such an ass. there are so many other recordings of this piece on youtube. if you don't like this one, find another one. nobody wants to read your ignorant comments

  • @jakefooskia it didn't take long to make this actually - but thanks for your positive support! :)

  • This could be the main theme to a zelda game if I've ever heard one

  • This is crap.

  • @162ALAN162 Thanks for your comment DUDE! I'm so glad you are digging my videos! Please LIKE this video and SUBSCRIBE to my channel! Tell all your friends! U R kOOl!

  • But why?

  • May be Bach Played in MIDI, May be the greatest Music in the world played in MIDI. Whatever, it makes me fell playing Old Video Games

  • @poveron7 This is not Bach, it's Stravinsky. Bach = Baroque Era. Stravinsky = 20th Century

  • I can see why people rioted to this haha hearing this song back in the day where music all had to be one way would probably get some people pretty angry.

  • 2.44 someone is gonna see that and think: "Challenge accepted"

  • @AndrusPr8 2:44 (just adding that so I can hit it)

  • crazy shit.

  • why the dislikes

  • reminds me of zelda

  • @btyremanable exactly what i was thinking

  • I feel like I just watched a 1960s Tom and Jerry orchestration come to life.

  • I feel like I just watched a 1960s Tom and Jerry orchestration come to life.

  • al pnxo kon esta cancion

  • Some crazy modern music is dumb, but Stravinsky was a genius. Plain 'n' simple. Listen to a real recording and it's clearer.

  • Wasn't this the music in "the grinch stole christmas" that made the grinch mad?

  • i miss my old nes

  • wtw how did i get from clair de lune to this? not that i dont like this vid...

  • 6:55 - 7:05 it's the best part

  • this is actually a pretty good representation of this song, can't say i'm a huge fan of the synthesizer or Stravinsky but this demonstrates how much of a nut he was.

  • I like it, it almost as if its from an SNES game or something.

  • amazing

  • sheet music..i don't understand anything in this melody..

  • One weird song

  • @lvbandmore and @Soler4485 Look guys, I'm 13 and I think both of you are acting like little children. Yes, in some parts this video doesn't catch up with the music, but at least it presents the music in a clear way and it is easy to listen to. This piece, in my opinion, incorporates many different styles and rhythms that other composers were too afraid to compose. So thumb this beautiful work of art up, and smile guys :D

  • @lilchopin1 thanks! I think I had too much coffee when I made that comeback to that dude, yes. lol

  • @lvbandmore Well you're welcome, Keep at it!

  • @lvbandmore YES MY THEORY IS GOOD! I KNEWED COFFE = AGRESSION AND BRUTAL VIOLENCE

  • @GrafiGumo and lots of urination

  • @lilchopin1 Why are they doing this to such a brilliant piece?

  • @DrsJorisSteenbakkers I don't mind the graphics, I think they help many who can't read get a better idea of what's going on - but how can they with that dreadful 'sound'?

This software can track an actual audio, though I think the labor is nightmarish intensive.

I've seen heard one of the Brahms C-minor piano quartet, andante - acoustic performance. This one sounds like and orchestra of kazoos made of rubber combs with tissue paper, and is less than funny or attractive.

  • @MuseDuCafe Thanks for the constructive comment. I have to disagree with your final statement tho. This is both funny AND attractive.

  • @lilchopin1 You just sat them down LOL:D

  • This is actually fantastic. Obviously, for listening "pleasure" it's not on par with a symphonic performance, but I think it captures the essence of Stravinsky, choppy video and all. And the MIDI format and visualization taught me things about the piece that I wouldn't have gotten from a regular recording without a score in front of me (not that I'm all that good at reading scores). Great video!

  • Makes me feel uncomfortable. Reminds me of the kind of music you'd hear playing in the background while you're trapped inside alternate world, as if you were on Are You Afraid of the Dark?

  • this is great! so many notes it almost crashed my damn laptop lol, you must have put a lot of effort into it.

  • So bad I had to laugh.

  • @ThousandFarts Laugh all you want, just stop with the farting please.

  • @ThousandFarts it was actually written this way by a Russian composer every note is exact although i dislike the tonality Stravinsky would prolly like it

  • :| I didnt think it was too bad XD

not the BEST, but Soler4485 there is either a real snob or just an ass XD

  • @TheTonyTigar Thx. It's funny...I KNOW this is not exactly a Bruce Fairbairn production, it's just for fun and took a minute to put together - but some people seem to get really riled up. Ahh..it's the internet, where everybody's an "expert" LOL

  • theme song in heck, no really it was good.

  • Love it, for real :)

  • Horrible! Nauseating! Awful!

    I love it! :-)

  • This is REALLY BAD REALLY!! SOOOOOOOO BAD! I understand you tried with the M.A.M. Player but this would really make Igor toss and turn in his grave. It sounds like the soundtrack to an early episode of south park. PLEASE IMPROVE BEFORE I CRY!

  • @Soler4485 Dude. Early South Park totally rocks. Early South Park takes current South Park and...well there's bestiality involved, OK?

Oh yeah, if I can make you cry I will DEFINITELY NOT change a thing here. In fact I may post multiple copies of this video under false aliases so that more men-children such as yourself might get in touch with their feminine sides.

  • @lvbandmore Look guys, I'm 13 and I think both of you are acting like little children.

  • Jesus Christ.....what is this garbage? Lol.

  • More praise from an esteemed peer.

  • What is the name of the software used to make this?

  • @Andrewvw100 The video was created using MAM Player. The sound is straight MIDI thru Quicktime I think

  • Stephen- very cool. you rock

  • the song is pretty cool actually :D

  • Thumbs up if you sat through the whole thing thing with some sort of weird crossbreed Tom and Jerry/Tasmanian Devil/Marvin the Martian/Final Fantasy/Star Wars/Star Trek/ Pokemon/Pacman/Monty Python/Legend of Zelda/ Baseball/explosion-flavored bubble gum/Mr. Rogers's turtleneck/Super Mario/Chinese sweatshop/falling off the monkeybars/throwing a brick in the dryer/pencil sharpener/He-Man nostalgia that you've never had before.

    Seriously. Wtf. This was awesome.

  • @SamuraiMasenko LOL - You nailed it :)

  • @SamuraiMasenko I know it is kinda ridiculous, but your comment pretty much sums up how I felt about this video. This isn't something that I would listen to a whole lot, but I definitely like it quite a bit as a diversion and break from the mediocrity that is so omnipresent.

  • Is this dodecafonic music?.

  • @TheRowlhion well, it's fonic.

(just in case you were not making a joke, dodecaphonic music is 12-tone music where notes are evenly distributed around the chromatic scale in a row (with several rulebook variations). "Rite" is more like "modern primitive" where Igor extracted folk tune melodies and harmonies and subjected them to jarring rhythmic changes)

  • @lvbandmore I wasn't, sorry for my oblivion..

  • @TheRowlhion Oh don't be sorry, no problem. I get lots of "funny" comments so I try to cater to both crowds...(?)

  • amm, one more thing i was talking about the movement that was created on the Modernism years. Dodecafonic music.

  • @TheRowlhion Yeah, dodecaphonic ("ph" not "f") is just what I wrote above. Y'know the father of dodecaphonic music, Schoenberg, was the arch-enemy of the Stravinsky who wrote "Rite". But many many years later Stravinsky DID try doing dodecaphonic music...

  • @lvbandmore this was the most badass reply I've read in a while.

  • I wish the lines between notes with multiple voicings hadn't gotten mixed up

  • Ya know, some people just don't appreciate Midi. That's fine, but I like it. It bring me back to my favorite old games.

  • @Secruss Thanks. You should check out my 8-bit remixes on my channel...

  • way to freeze my computer at 2:47

  • @KINGOFMETAL3592 weird. upgrade your Flash. That should help.

  • This is really beautiful

  • For a few minutes this video just looked like climactic confusion.

However, I did enjoy this song.

  • awesome, I am definitely putting this on my short list of MAM videos to make (after I do a few Beethoven videos!)

  • @TheAPAnderson I did quite a few Beethoven ones myself, tho they're actually transcriptions...drop me a line when you put up yours...

  • I think I just googled "rite of spring" and "midi". There's a few versions out there...

  • It's wrong in some places :P

  • Where did you get the file?

  • what program is this?

  • @williamgoughmusician The Music animation machine midi file player

  • I'll redo this once I get a better computer...
