so is it actively curing in the oven? so it is cured in 2 hours and ready to use?

With the added heat from the oven and the pot it is in, saponification takes less time. The soap goes through the custard stage, really thick and hard to stir, the the gel stage, it look translucent or almost see through and sticks to the sides of the pot when stirred and then finally the mashed potato stage, the soap should resemble light and buttery mashed potatos and look fluffy. Total time to make is 2 hours. Cure time in oven is 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes MAX.

What is the difference between melt and pour soap and this way of making it?

Melt and pour is glycerin soap. It is made in clear and opaque (white) bricks. Glycerin soap is meltable in the microwave and then you can add oils and colors to it. This process I show in the vids, involves lye, water and oils ONLY (additives can be put in at the end). THIS is how you make soap and from this process they get glycerin. If you don't separate the glycerin out it stays in the soap and that is what makes your skin soft and moisturized :-)

My husband did say that this was a unique method. I have seen people do what they "call" oven process but they pour the cp into a wooden mold and then stick the WHOLE mold into an oven set at 170 degrees. But they only let it cook for 30 minutes and then let it sit in the oven overnight. They say it still has to cure that way but it is only 2 weeks instead of 6 to 8I SAY: If I can get a cured soap in about 2 total hours from start to finish, I will take that over a week of curing lol :-)
