  • Larry definitely looks better as an old man. And I'd rather be bald than have a frizzy Jewfro...

  • lol. yeah its the rabbi. I dont think people can see the forest through the trees :P

  • The acting is terrible. The guy talking to Larry doesn't feel real at all.

  • @ADollsHouse420 your a stupid asshole. jews are a race you fucking idiot. dont glorify someone who gassed millions of woman and children.

  • penos

  • huh.... larry david got cuter as he got older.

  • @ADollsHouse420 Hitler was kickass? God the ignorance on Youtube is amazing.

  • What year was this?

  • @lurch321 I think this was back in either 1981-1982. I remember this skit when I was a kid. Fridays was to be ABC's copycat answer to SNL. It didn't last long, I think 2 seasons, as SNL has endured today.

  • @ADollsHouse420 Yeah, its called racism.

  • That's the rabbi from Seinfeld that likes Elaine lol he's funny glad to see Larry hooked him up with a job again after all these years

  • @ADollsHouse420 Well... that's kind of the point of the sketch.

  • Fridays was better than SNL.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • it's just doody dunking lol

  • this is, essentially, shit. however, the repetition of "mr doody" and the twisted humour of the punch bowl bit is definitely larry david. and not just larry david trying to be woody allen

  • "Right this way. Mr. Doody" 1000 points to the person who can name the reference

  • @mmeyer1 as in, kramer's line in seinfeld? is that what youre getting at?

  • @louiecostello you, sir, win the prize

  • Classic idiosyncratic Larry David. He knows what's funny and he doesn't water it down for anyone.

  • r they saying Mr. Penis?? WTF!! I'm Gay !!!hahaha

  • Lame lame lame. Nothing here that would hint at the greatness to come. Fridays was such a bad show.

  • @drumgold23

Yeah WTF was this supposed to be funny? It sucked. No wonder Fridays went off the air after one season what a shit show.

  • @TheJomogogo the only thing that sucks is your tiny mouth on a popsicle. supple, wet lips.unggghhh

  • This & all the things that Andy Kaufman did on this program were the ONLY funny things about Fridays.

  • its called a jewfro i think

  • What would you call LD's hairstyle here?

    Jewish Afro Birdsnest

  • Mr. Doodie.

  • I remember everyone from the cast being on Seinfeld except Darrow Igus, Maryedith Burrell was the Fat free yogurt shop owners wife, Blankfield was the clown in the Paliacci episode, Melanie Chartoff was George's girlfriend in the Eric the Clown one, Bruce Mahler (the guy in this sketch) was the Rabbi who told everyone Elaine was jealous of George getting married-maybe Larry and Darrow didnt get along-who knows? The musical guests were killer, brought Punk to Middle America

  • He was very funny as the Rabbi, with a crazy little voice

  • There was no rabbi.

  • amazing clip, thank for the upload

  • reminds of kramer

  • yeh, me too

  • your right...the one where kramer is describing married life to jerry

  • "Fridays" was a fairly awesome show back in the day which began the careers of not only Larry ("Seinfeld" co-creator "Curb your Enthusiasm") David, but also Michael(Kramer from "Seinfeld") Richards as well.

  • Right this way Mr. Doody.

  • Classic early Larry David. rofl.

  • The Rabbi from Seinfeld?

    Anybody got a name?

  • Rabbi Glickman, portrayed by Bruce Mahler. And yes it's him.

  • haha it is!

    sorry no name

  • Oy vey

  • Aside from the fro, his mannerisms & voice are still the same haha

  • that's the rabbi from seinfeld!!

  • Bruce Mahler.

  • so? whats your point

  • I was just about to enjoy a nice warm glass of christian baby blood when I read this comment and nearly spilled all over myself but then I was suddenly distracted because I heard the distinct sound of someone dropping a penny outside my door. So I got to go because it's my turn to run the Bank's into the ground so I can own the world.

  • hollywood.....oy..bubela that's just where it starts!

  • they stole this joke from Monty Python! it's from the "Very Interesting People"sketch.

  • "im not gonna have any Psuedo-doody on my conscience"

    haha

  • Comment removed

  • SO FUCKING WHAT?

Do you really think the world is that simple that you can just judge people on that basis?

  • I'm not judging anyone, I'm just saying that there are a lot of jews in this vid...it's a matter of fact.

  • there are a lot of certificates in frames on the walls. why not mention those?

  • speedy ronan on myspace. check it.

  • is it my imagination or does he sound like the charachter kramer around 1.30

  • This is one of the funniest sketches of all time. To this day, when one of the prima donnas I work with does something stupid I say "Oh Mr. _____, it's o.k. Mr. -------, keep on _______ Mr. ________"!

  • Larry David as Larry Fine doing Steinbrenner.

  • Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good!

  • I forgot how much this show SUCKED!!!

  • roots of steinbrenner, fo sho.

  • This sketch definitely had more of a "Kids in the Hall" feel to it than SNL, Seinfeld or CYE.

  • Wow. You can see the Seinfeld in this skit. I can picture Kramer trying to do something outrageous like this and George acting how Larry did in his roles. THanks for posting.

  • I am starting to remember this "obscure but well-rememberd joke" of "how are you doing Mr. Doody, Mr, Doody" etc etc. I watched most of this show Fridays.

Larry's hair looks like that one in The 3 Stooges.

  • isn't that the rabbi from Seinfeld?

  • yup!

  • No disrespect intended, but I didn't find this clip funny at all.

  • " What's with this coleslaw? It's disgusting" LOL!!! Even back in the day Larry was hilarious

  • look at that hair, lol it's like a afro. what happened??

  • You are correct larrybud, that is the Rabbi.

  • I think the guy that goes in to see Larry is the Rabbi from Seinfeld that can't keep a secret.

  • Yeah that is the Rabbi. His voice and voice rythm is exactly the same to his role in Seinfeld.

  • @larrybud Yes! You are right!

  • @larrybud Yeah, that's the same guy. I used to watch Friday's years ago.... I never realized Larry David was on it.

  • That hairstyle is called a "Jew-fro"

  • LD looks so much more normal these days, hahaha.

  • ...It's just doody dunking... Classic Larry David!!!!!

  • surreal

  • Just like people told George in a Seinfeld Episode :)

    LOL

    **

  • Boy, he really lost a LOT of hair ;)

  • No....Larry wudda never ate a calazone

  • Waita minute...that...that was Mutha Fuckin' Steinbrenner in these vids....I know his voice.

  • Indeed. Larry David = co-creator of Seinfeld = voice of Steinbrenner.

  • This rabbi tried to fuck Elaine. Larry shudda shoved his fucktcka down his bobtcka.

  • That wuz tha jew rabbi on Seinfeld

  • I'm so sick of those gentile rabbis.

  • lol

  • lol this is amazing

  • i dont get why you guys dont even acknolage other post that ar talking about somthing and thenm you go oh i just realised when the other person just said it

  • hahah oh my. i thought at the beginning it was going to be Larry ignoring the guy for four minutes. I was pleasantly surprised!

  • Doody Dunking!

  • That other guy played the Rabbi on Seinfeld.

  • pseudo-doody

  • Right this way Mr. Doody!

  • This was so funny when I was a kid. It still cracks me up today! Thanks for posting this clip. COMEDY!!!! Larry David was light years ahead of his time.

  • holy crap it's fackler from police academy. WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUCK

  • Larry's v/o monologue at the end reminds me of his George Steinbrenner on Seinfeld. Will anybody ever show this in reruns?

  • George Costanza.

  • I was talking about his George Steinbrenner character on Seinfeld. The surgeon changes the subject and and starts rambling on about potato salad much like Steinbrenner would do in the episodes where George works for the Yankees.

  • His real name is Jason Alexander and his name on the show is Geroge Costanza.

  • I'm not talking about Jason Alexander. The guy in this clip is Larry David who did the voice of George Steinbrenner on Seinfeld when George worked for the Yankees. David's Steinbrenner would often go rambling on about nothing the way the surgeon does about potato salad here.

  • oh.

  • The character of George Costanza was based on Larry David btw. That's why in season two of CYE Larry gets bugged when people say what a jerk George was. lol

  • Holy Crap!!! I just realized that the guy playing the patient is the same guy who played the big mouthed Rabi on Seinfeld

  • *okay* here I go, I'll say it slowly.

There was this TV show called SEINFELD.

The character George COSTANZA got a job with the Yankees, owned by George STEINBRENNER.

The VOICE of G.S. was done by LARRY DAVID.

    There, clear yet?

  • No way- that was the real Steinbrenner!!

  • i swear that guy opposite larry is the guy that plays the blind piano player in season four of Curb Your Enthusiasm - what do u rekkon?

  • different guy

  • didn't the actor opposite Larry David end up as the Rabbi on Seinfeld?

  • that is an amazing jew fro

  • Who knew? Seinfeld players were crafting their skills during much maligned and underappreciated Friday's, Thanks for making this clip available.

  • the howdy doody guy also played the Rabbi in Seinfeld who came onto Elaine

  • What the fuck was thinking about with that hair?

  • Not a bad sketch! But if this were on SCTV in 1980, despite their pitifully low budget, you'd have seen Doody's face courtesy of their brilliant makeup artists.

  • @curb1976:

seems like you misheard his quote just a bit, leaving out the key word:

"i'm not having this pseudo doody on my conscience"

  • More Fridays please!!!

  • Man...this is like a cross between "Seinfeld" and "The Twilight Zone."

  • superb

  • I'm not having this doody on my conconsience, best bit.

  • @curb1976:

seems like you misheard his quote just a bit, leaving out the key word:

"i'm not having this pseudo doody on my conscience"

  • Brillient comedy! I love the bit at the end where he talks about potato salad, and new york LOL. also the line "This is dooody dunking"

  • good stuff

  • such a funny skit, like it hangs on the seinfeld dialogue before it was even made. the night i watched this sketch i saw the epsiode where Elaine gets bitten by the dog, Jerry tried to find out if his gf kissed cousin jeffery "then it's howdy doody" and Kramer adds "Right this way mr Doody" hahaah i know there r others just didnt pay attn b4 i saw this

  • thats the rabi from seinfeld.

  • Yeah, the actor's name is Bruce Mahler.
