I "do" MOMS MABEY as a comedy act. This is the album of jokes which I learned first. Thanks for reminding me of the first Moms' jokes I tiold about 30 years ago. Still doing it based in Chicago.

i remember when my parents would b n the kitchen w/their guests listenin 2 richard pryor , redd foxx, moms mabley, wildman steve, pigmenat markham, oh i can go on. but i think moms mabley was their favorite cause she was played alot.

This clip and the album shown here are both from Moms Mabley's debut album for Chess Records. Moms produced a great catalogue of recorded performances for both Chess and another Chicago major label, Mercury Records, ending with her last recordings for the Stax Records subsidiary, Partee Records.
