Lol they should start airmail carriers with these giant r/c planes as the new way to save on fuel from the airlines. use the first person view cameras 180degree turn radious and fly as a new career lol. use the militaries signal to carry out the aircraft to different states like the drones and be able to fuel stop at the airports u need for refuel.. i wonder if this be a way to save on gas lol....I sure love that job you sit at home while flying it on computor lol
@DaChris2368 Dude ofcourse I know its real, I hadn't seen anyone comment like that so I thought I would be a first, no need to get all PMSy, btw, I used a 360.
thats really cool sounds like the ones a work on when they do the fly overs i want ONE so bad, but i will have to settle on working on the USAF 130's for now.
Saw this plane flying at RAF Lyneham yesterday and chatted with the guys who operate it. Power comes from 4 2-stroke engines. Asked about turbines but the pilot said they would give the model too much power.
Hey guys i was saying to : 9682482 and those others who caommented saying this are toys, im a R/C Flyer my self and i have a 1/6 Scale F-16 and i hate when people calls then "Toys"
Oh my god did u guys just take a real c130 and put it in a shrinking machine?! that is the best and most accurate scale aircraft that i have ever seen!
Have you got a full article on this model elsewhere? - it would be great to hear how you built it and what engins & control gear are installed. - Superb model!
It sounds like a real aircraft... just not a real C-130. during the flight and landing, the engine sounds were the ONLY thing to give away it wasn't a real Herc.
Wow, impressive. is it 3003 or 2003? We have a 2003 HC130J, but no such thing as a 3003 bird. You going to add extrenal fuel tanks to it? I know we started out with no externals, but now they all have em.
i no the owner i help him sometimes refule it and i have to hold it back wen it is on full power powerfull thing good fun though me and the owner r in smac so thats how i know him he drops men out of the back that is at
it's probably hard to do but i have yet to see a large RC like that landing like the real thing. it still looks like a toy bouncing on touchdown. but yes this RC is really really nice.
very nice, just about to start building a 120 inch c-130. to the knob who said 'how funny if it crashed', think about your house on fire.not real funny is it?
That is absolutely amazing! Looks great! I see C-130s every day, and this thing looks very accurate even down to the landing and taxi lights. Great job to the builders!
i'd like to know what set of plans this came from and was it scaled up. i feel some turbo props coming on. was going to do a 777, but this looks much better.
did i hear reversing pitch props?!?!i want 1!try wat i did with a few smaller planes,i made a huge model carrier out of balsa wood, added cables and a gun powder fuel cat,and tried carrier take offs and landings, later that day my friend wanted to trie it,he crashed and fuel spilt,it burnt to the framework,so sad
assuming this is in the uk, I saw this model at raf fairford stood next to its real uscg counterpart.
I think if I remember right too, they actually had a button to open the cargo door and perform an air drop too. but it screwed up half way thru the drop and the chute was left dragging, then fell off as they were about to pull up, was only a toy landrover, but a damn good display.
I'm really waiting to see one with 4 actual turbine powered turboprops just like the life-size version. I've only seen a couple of rc's with turbine powered props, two of which you can find here on youtube. they're both single engine rc's though. would be nice to see multi-engined turbine props. Would you know of any in existence or are you planning on building one? Really Nice plane though.
Generally speaking, the larger the RC airplane is, the eaisier it is to fly. This c130 should be very easy to fly (assumming you are an experienced RC pilot)
its happend to me once when my a-10 had to belly land. keep flaps down while flying at near full speed. keeep tail wings up to he plane level. gently have it touch the ground and hit the brakes

it has something away from the real turbo props

TOMMYVERCETTI1 4 years ago
no you do not need faa approval but you do need a permit from the A.M.A with an inspector to watch every step of the build for planes heavier than 50 lbs.
crazyryan 4 years ago
Did you need "FAA" approval to fly that???lol
VSOPkiller 4 years ago
If you plan to build and fly a model in the UK which weighs over 20kg then it is mandatory (a requirement of the CAA) that the aircraft is built, inspected and flight proven using the scheme operated by the LMA on behalf of the CAA.
