im planning get a colorado as yours..but need advice... u have the v8... and u recomend the 4,5, or v8 engin? are the v8 a gas monster consumer or not...
The V8 uses just a little more gas than the 5 cylinder. Which uses more than the 4 cylinder.
If you want torque and power, it's worth the little bit of gas mileage loss to get the V8. And, if you drive it conservatively, you can still get decent mileage with the V8.
Lol, Trucks are meant to be noisy I was just fuckin around. I love your badass truck. I want one. But I'm doomed to drive a 135i around for the time being. I just want a toy car that you dont have to fuss with cause you know its built to be rough with. This is it. :]
I was still being nice to it.. since as you can see, there was less than 200 miles on it. They have 300 hp, 320 ft/lbs of torque. But the torque management in the PCMs is unbelievable.. the amount it reduces the power when you kick it down is unreal. That, and the rear gearing isn't that for quick take-offs... 3.42's. Not bad, but 4.10s would make a big difference as well.
Yeah, a lot of guys get gears, and I'm sure I will too. Hehe. It's easy and cheap. And hell.. with whatever I plan to do with it in the future.. I'll be sacrificing mileage anyways. Hehe
Gears make a TON of difference...I learned that early lol. If I wasn't planning on selling the Mustang within the next year, I would definitely have a 2.1L Kenne Bell supercharger on order...You CANNOT beat the sound of a supercharger turning high rpms.
well. .when you kicked it downthgere at the end i figured it go like hell.. being smal with the v8.. but it didnt.. do they have like a low hp v8 in these? i honestly didnt know they started makign them with v8s til lthis video

It's still getting better, so it's still loosening up. I have about 3,000 miles on it. The best I've gotten so far is 19 with mixed driving.

@LeechyKyle My theory: 4.10's belong stock in every V8 equipped domestic vehicle.
When I had my 01 Trans Am...first mod = 4.10's, when I bought my 02 GT Mustang, first mod= 4.10's.
When I buy a new Silverado or F150 (I like both GM and Ford, the hell with Dodge lol) next year, if it's 2wd, first mod=4.10's.
