i would love to do something like that but we have nowhere like that where i come from the pony is gorgeous, er... constructive advice that u probably already know u point ur toes out violently try doing what horse ball people do and tie a lead rope round both stirrups so ur toes dont turn out but it does feel odd but i wouldnt try doing it x country =P

@showjumpingirl21 I don't think this lil girl is to big either. They look cute doing their x-country thing together. AWE! :) But just fyi Shetlands can PULL that much in a cart. Not carry. Big difference. They r very strong, but their backs can bend easily from being riden w/to much weight rather than drove. Sway back horses/ponies usually end up in slaughters or rescues too. So please be careful what you say! :) NOT TRYING TO B UGLY!! =)))

@showjumpingirl21 It's all good! :) I just didn't want the other person u responded to to actually put 200lbs on a tiny lil pony! ha ha that would be so sad! lol Just for future reference, it is the same rule of thumb for weight limits, from shetlands to clysdales, 20% of the horses body weight is a safe number of lbs they can carry. or the horses body weight( in lbs) devided by 6. Hope this info helps you out someday! =)

@ItsTheHood they can carry up to 200 lbs in good shape. it really depends on the pony.

@ItsTheHood No. It could PULL them in a cart easily though! :) A rough guide to how much weight a horse can carry is to take the horse's weight (in lbs) and divide it by six. This equals the total weight the horse can carry, including tack.

Or the 20% Rule: 1000 lb horse can carry 200 pounds.
