i have a expander on the top of my mouth and i have to keep it in for 6 months then i will get one on the bottom.

it took me some weeks to get used to eating and talking with my top expaders

but i'm wondering:

- are the bottom expanders harder to get used to?

-is it harder to talk and eat with it?

- is it visible when you talk?

what i wanna know is if it's the same as the top ones or if it is harder to deal with :(

hi, i have a question... my dentist said i must extract 4 teeth in order to get braces to straighten my teeth because my jaw is too small .... i know there are many different device out there to "expand" jaw -- such as what u are wearing... is extracting teeth to make room or no extracting just wearing jaw expander the same result???

No extracting teeth, takes away from your tongue space, causes TMJ, possible sleep apnea, also makes you age faster, were an expander creates the room for your teeth in the arch, Carrie

My question is this: being do not here with the expansion of the lower teeth. The reason is that 23 years age. However, with the possible operation happening.

Is the lower jaw expander inserted by surgery? Orthodontists have searched but can not be extended in this way too, they say. However, with the possible operation happening. Can you help me I would be glad if you show me and the way.

@sexandcity2009 Hi, No surgery is needed for the installation of the lower expander, as shown in the video. But for full expansion you have to be young. I will post photos when my treatment is finished.

i actually have an upper(palatal) expander and a bottom arch, and the bottom arch is way more annoying than a bottom expander cuz i got the bottom one and then after it got the lower arch.......

wow i had a top expander and a headgear (night only) then i got my braces off yay! 1 and 1/2 year later.. braces on top and bottom now :( and before all this is had 2 retainers for about 5 years -.- YYYAY!

I just got my braces off and my ortho guy who is also related to me through marriage, and uncle or something talked about head gear and I flat out refused-although I would only have to wear it at home at night- but I didn't because my teeth weren't that bad. Just a gap in the front and crowding, now I have them off, braces was so worth it, and I think I had a top expander but I am really not sure! :) Love your accent, and Lucas grow the hell up...
