JazakaAllah kheir sister, i was a little jahilia on that topic. i only knew or heard that Aisha RA was teaching behind the veil. But alhamdulillah you have gain me some knowledge. however sister give me more detail on how to betified myself to be a goodwife to my husband. i have a great husband but i seemed to be a little less appriciating and look at physical attraction. make dua for me and my husband.
Asalam alaikum am a muslima Alhamdullillah my quetion is are woman allowed to give lectures in public such as our sister here. forgive me if am wrong. let me know please jazakaAllah
As long as the woman is covering her awrah and she is providing a beneficial knowledge there is no problem with a public discussion such as this. Remember that Our Mother Aishah (RA) was the first Scholar of Islam and frequently gave lectures and answered questions in a public discourse, the only time she spoke from behind a screen was when she was in her home.
(14) Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Apostle said, "You should listen to and obey, your ruler even if he was an Ethiopian (black) slave whose head looks like a raisin." (Book #89, Hadith #256)
"Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Mercifu."
"Men have authority over women because God has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because God has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them. Then if they obey you, take no further action against them. Surely God is high, supreme." (Dawood's version of the Koran, Quran, 4:34)
It is talking about when women are doing something wrong. Not about pure "obedience" like washing dishes or cooking a meal but more serious things.
There is a progression, the English translation quoted here is not completely accurate, but it says that if a wife transgresses that you should admonish her first. Meaning tell her that she did wrong and seek counsilling as a couple if need be.
Then, if they continue to do wrong and make an error again then you separate from one another.. trial separation so to speak. Then as a final step you SEND THEM AWAY. The Arabic word here can be translated several ways, it can mean "to beat" and it can also mean "to break apart from" or in modern English "To Divorce" Newer translations of the Qur'an are being published with this understanding at heart.
Women do not share the same rights 7 priviledges as men in Islam. If you cannot see that, then you have blinkered vision and its a result of being brainwashed. Take some time reading the translation of the Quran and sahih hadiths, and then come to the same objective conclusion.
Of course women do not have the SAME rights and privileges as men. Men and women are different, so the rights are different.
The concept of Gender EQUALITY is a myth of modern culture. The concept of Gender EQUITY is sound, solid and well-founded in logic and Islam.
A man has rights over his wife, but the wife also has a DIFFERENT set of rights over the husband. A man has rights in the community and the woman has a DIFFERENT set of rights in the community.
Your right, they dont share the same rights & priviledges.
A womens testimony in the law courts is worth half of that of a man. Its obvious to me that it was was written by 7th century Arab man, without any so-called divine intervention. I dont expect you to see through it, nor do I expect Hindus to stop worshipping clay idols. Best of luck to all of you anyway.
As long as you can find an interpretation that makes you a better person, its all fine with me.
so i don't think you understand Hinduism at all...Hindus DONT worship clay idols.
Let me give you a bit of a history lesson. When britishers came to India they tranlated sanksrittexts to English- but there are a LOT of words that don't have a direct translation to English- MURTI was one of them. it's not exactly an "idol." it's more like a symbol. the "symbol" symbolizes God. for examply. you see ganesh...he doesnt rlly have an elephant head...it a symbol for knowledge.
so you don't worship a "symbol." you try to remember what God is all about through it...you use the symbol to remind you of God's power and goodness and use use it to help you pray. you don't pray to the idol.
This may be true, but the same is true of all religions. Islam is a younger religion that Christianity or Judaism so it has not reached that stage in its evolution. Christianity used to allow for beating and burning of women. Look at the Salem witch trials in America or all the things that happened during the middle ages.
Wives have the same rights as the husbands have on them in accordance with gnerally known principals. Of course, men are a degree above them in status.
2:223
your women are your fields, so go into your fields whicher way you like
so these are not quotes from stories in the quran or anything. go to chapter 2 verse 228 and look at it your self..look at the quotes around it and you'll see it's not out of context, if you find that any of these are, please do tell me
The share of the male shall be twice that of a female (in inheritance) - In what context can it be quoted 'out of context' - or is thus something you parrot to anything you dont like the sound of in the Quran?
to quote something without explanation is misleading those who want to learn will see past these tactics...for those who dont know the rest of the quran it can be "taken out of context" you cant take parts of the quran it must be taken as a whole all things are in equal balance and proportion in the quran and with wisdom..so you must take everything in its entiriety...dont have time to explain right now but i will once i get a chance ...
out of the context of understanding would by my guess.
Obviously the male gets twice the share of the female, men in Islamic society are commanded to be the protectors and maintainers of women. Therefore the man gets twice the share because he has the far greater social responsibility.

I appreciate your quoting of Qur'anic verse.
Would you like to discuss what you have quoted?
By the way.. there are no "Versions" of the Qur'an. Anyone publishing a "version" ofthe Qur'an is not Muslim andit should be destroyed.
There is only one Qur'an... anything else is a translation.
Do you know the Arabic terms usedhere?
Do you know what this verse is talking about?

Which is part of the Hindu saying "All of the thousands and ten thousands of Gods are but One."
Many Hindu scholars are converting to Islam because there is increasing evidence that the coming of Muhammad was prophesied in older Hindu texts.
My own research leads me to believe that the Hindu religion was founded by a Messenger of Allah and then became distorted through the sands of time.

Allah makes us all better people when we submit ourselves to His divine plan.
Men are supposed to be the leaders in society. The problem is that you are looking upon the scriptures through "modern" eyes.
Eyes that have seen men become weak and useless.
Eyes that see men lazing about and forcing women to go work to support them.
Obviously it makes no sense for these useless excuses of men to have more validity in court than a woman.

Doesnt make it a religion for all time then does it? Are you also saying God couldnt predict these things in advance?

God did and God has prescribed laws against it. MAN has ignored those laws and has changed the religion of God once again.
Islam is perfect. Mankind is flawed.
