  • Was fortunate enough to catch this live at a sound check with a small crowd of fifty others at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC last September. They said they were practicing it for the US tour - wow, blown away. They played Statues at the gig was which also very cool to hear live.

  • Quality. One of their best live performances.

  • I went to see Shrek at this venue a few months back and all I could think of was Andy & The boys performing one of the great gigs of the 80s in this very place. Unfortunate y I would have been only 10 1/2 when they were there, so I missed out.

  • Andy started the first verse two late--By time he finishes the 3rd line of the second verse the base synth kicks in--Didnt have time left to sing Stanlow--Who cares--Wonderful song and a great concert--Highlight for me is Statues middle part with Paul and Winston shrouded in white light.

  • Simply stunning, takes me right back to my youth, simply wonderful days never to be repeated musically...

  • Love this track...one of my favorites from Organisation..love this live version too..talk about creating ambiance

  • One of the greatest voices of the 20th century.

  • @ianoreilly Hah!! The same over here in the states. I saw them on the A and M tour in Detroit. Now, I had seen everyone from the Cramps to Shriekback to the Gang of Four and was ready for a "mellow" evening from OMD. They started with Stanlow. As the volume of the oil rig tape increased I started to look at my brother nervously. When the synths and kick drum hit, it was a brutal aural assault to our bodies. I have never before or since heard a louder show. We stayed in the door the whole gig!

  • Das geht unter die Haut! Kopfhörer und MAXIMUM Volium

    Sehr sehr schön

  • stanlow is an oil refinery at the south end of the wirral, omd are from a very quaint place called meols on the north shore of the wirral, close to the centre of the universe, liverpool and erics where they started...brilliant band.

  • @EVERTONIC And in Moels (pronounced Mells) is the telephone box they sing about in Red Frame, White Light" And I've actually been in it...................woohoo!!! LOL

  • Still sends shivers down my spine !! Classic

  • one of their best

  • The first five albums from OMD are their best and amongst the greatest 80's albums ever: OMITD, Organisation, Architecture & Morality, Dazzle Ships and Junk Culture.

  • the sound of dopamine flooding through my body.......

  • WOW!!! Esta es una de las canciones de mi vida, para mi la mejor del grupo, y ademas en este directo es que se salen!!!

  • I was at this gig, thanks for posting.

  • No way; it should had been amazing being in the early 80's over England listening to all these 80's bands.

  • How was your overall experience?

  • It was a great gig, the Theatre Royal is a lovely old theatre.

OMD really pumped it out too, I was surprised at how loud they were.

  • Best live version of this track I have seen.

    Great post

  • Love it! Thanks again felly!
