It isn't about experience. George W. had one term of experience of actually being president, and he did worse the second time. The issue is the readiness and temper-control to take the responsibilities of being the leader of the free world. Neither McCain nor Palin have a reasonable temperament for the complexities of the 21st-Century political landscape, and their "readiness" consists plainly of a sense of greedy entitlement. Who will be sensible? This is the question for rational voters.

Right judgement, deep knowledge and brightness are more critical than experience. Palin is maybe smart as a hockymom but not bright as VP or P. She has no knowledge, and has scary decisiveness and wrong experience.

The real question of experience is economics. The system is out of control and has been allowed to descend without real oversight. Everything else in this election is a distraction. As usual the voters are just being left to shoot in the dark. An in-depth discussion of economic issues is de facto off the table. The possibility of having a real democracy where people make informed decisions is sadly tattered if not dead.
