  • These guys wants to be Opeth so bad......

  • @4stringedninja Dream Theater were writing great progressive metal back when Opeth was just starting out, and still doing it when Opeth was doing that death metal crap. So no, more like the other way around :P

  • My Reaction, 0:03 - 0:15

  • :ohgod:

  • the intro seriously gives me the worst case of suspense chills

  • I just noticed this, 00:52 of this song is the same sample as 39:40 from The Flower King's Garden Of Dreams

  • Comment removed

  • @MlKEPORNTOY boring...

  • OMGOMGOMG i love the ending where it goes a semitone lower than u expect soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo peng!

  • This is an amazing song! It may be the best on the album. The more I listen to this album the more I like it. I only wish all these idiots who keep saying Labrie isn't a good singer would put their heads back up their behinds where they belong and simply go away.

  • @skdesign98 so true labrie is fucking amazing, true sometimes live he does go a bit off but he's got a such a good voice for this band !!!!

  • Eargasm!

  • Die waren in der mitsubishi halle duesseldorf...das kam als intro das konzert war der hammer! Dream theater sind perfektionisten...wie die live spielen einfach wahnsinn hab och noch nie erlebt sowas

  • Best!

  • What type of music would that be called in the intro? when you hear all the people going.....ahhhhh ohhhhhhh....or something like that. :P

  • @TapOut111111 A-Capella\Choir music?

Or are you referring to the tribal chant at the bvery beginning?

  • @XxboVodxX umm, if I understand what you're saying, the part where it you hear a group of people singing those long note, at 0:46. I am wondering what type of music that is called.

  • @TapOut111111 gregorian chanting..catholic shit

  • @pifa4life

Gregorian chant actually far predates the style heard in this music. The text "agnus die" (lamb of God) originates from that period and started in the Catholic Mass, and is heard here in a more neo-romantic style. :)

  • @FCO0710 same shit different name

  • @pifa4life

Its actually completely different. Just thought someone might enjoy the music history behind it

  • @FCO0710 nope..just because of the way you delivered it..and because im having a bad day

  • the thing about dream theater is that you have to listen a LOT to the songs to get them know well and enjoy them, this is my favourite track of the new album =) I didn´t like Outcry when I first started to listen the album but know I like it, god stuff DT like always <3

  • κανας ελληνας ακουει ρε???

  • @paoki27 panta....

  • Best song on the new album

  • Morte et Tabo? 0:54. What? Asking Alexandria has a track called that and it starts exactly as 0:54 in this song. I might be stupid (?) but wow :D

  • :)

  • The chorus. :) ♥

  • I've been listening to them for years. This is one of their best albums to date!

  • @vandegriffjuggalo when i first bought this album. I wasn't sure what to think of it. I honestly didn't really like it. I don't know if i was just use to Mike Portnoy and his drumming or if it was his song writing but it started to grow on me. I went to see DT with the new drummer this past October and Mangini blew me away.

  • MASTERPIECE!!!

  • Killer song!!!

  • can't wait to see them in Budapest, Feb 17th!!!And this song...my favorite DT song ever!ROCK!!!!

  • i definitely LOVE this song *-*

  • Loving it! Bring on febuary 9th :D

  • @Sarcasticprick1 8th of february for me:D gonna be sweeeet!

  • ohh..this is kickass..(singer sings) ohh..this actually sucks

  • @pifa4life At least Labrie sounds decent on this cd. The rest of the band must have finally got him a voice coach.

  • @Ashterin No Portnoy telling him what to do has a lot to do with it I bet. He was responsible for the misuse of James' voice in that he wrote vocal lines out of JLB's comfort zone and a lot of parts and sections that were sort of just thrown in and didn't really flow. No coincidence that the songwriting are more cohesive and the vocals play to LaBrie's strengths.

  • @Ashterin its just really a shame you know? how do they not hear it?..youd think guys like this, who are so musically advanced, and who are such perfectionists, would have canned his ass a long time ago for someone with a good voice..a voice that actually fits. Hes what keeps alot of people who ive talked to, including me, from listening to dream theater and it sucks because theyd do a lot better without this screechy fuck.

  • @pifa4life A good band doesn't aim to please fans, but themselves. It could simply be they have good chemistry, and I like his voice; not for metal but for the straight prog stuff they occasionally do.

  • @pifa4life James LaBrie is an amazing singer. He has one of the most versatile voices in the industry and also an amazing range. Ever heard the final track on Ayreon's "The Human Equation"? Or anything from the Awake era, when he had some epic gravel to his higher vocal parts? I'd be damned if you would say that after hearing him on either.

  • @XxboVodxX i dis agree with everything, especially with your claim of his versatility. I personally dont like high pitched voices anyway, but i find his to be very lack-luster. i feel his voice very mediocre, even within the talent pool of his own style. As far as him being versatile, could you hear him doing anything else but this type of music? Jazz? Big band? Funk? Blues? Hip hop? Modern R&B? Punk? Soul? Grunge? Disco? Folk Rock? Modern Gospel? Country? Blue Grass? Opera?

  • @pifa4life Mike Patton is the only man that can sing all of those genres

  • @civilsanity thank you. Because of you, i looked up mike patton, i know have found a completely new thing to love..i forgot he was the guy in faith no more. but now i found tomohawk..thank you

  • @XxboVodxX look..im really tired of shitting on this guy..you guys arent changing my mind and your not proving anything to me..and im not doing anything either, so come on..i have a life to live, i dont care about this guy, ive never even met him..so just let it go please

  • @pifa4life you actually suck balls

  • @MarianOctavarium no i dont

  • @pifa4life yes you are, the only thing I saw on your channel was you negative comments on several videos, you fucking suck balls on drums also so you suck balls =)

  • @MarianOctavarium you found videos of me when i had my drums for three days..you have shitty taste in singers..check

  • @MarianOctavarium oh..and all the negative comments on my guitar video(im the blonde guy) were by me..myself..ME..

  • Just samples man, from jr's keyboard. They say that in another vídeo :(

  • its like dimmu borgir - xibir ??

  • best part 7:08 - 7:56

  • I HAD AN ELEVEN MINUTES EARGASM.

  • @rushfacu hahahaha I'm the Buda in the beginning XD

  • Dream theater's music differs from before.. They were greater when portnoy was their drummer..

  • @diboladas im not sure, i personaly liked portnoys style more too but everyone seems to be liking mangini, and i dont blame them because hes still a realy good drummer, would have liked to hear mor from portnoy though.

  • Hey what do you know, I thought Portnoy wasn't going to be on this album, but I can hear him doing vocals in the intro! No, just kidding, this is a great song!

  • AWESOME!! LOVIN' IT!

  • Nine people got caught in the Shaman's Trance.

  • the best intro ever and one of the best songs ever

  • "Tuvan Throat Singing" maybe? It sounds pretty similar.

  • @JorGePerSe That IS what it is. You can find many samples on Omnisphere.

  • @JorGePerSe exactly

  • The intro is sung by a mongolian Tuva singer using the armonical chant tecnique

  • Sounds lioke Khomeii, the overtone singing of the Tuva-People. Search for Huun Huur Tu - "Prayer" and wait until you hear the singer. It is unbelievable. As this new Dream Theatre album us! Great Musik

  • Let me tell you about my experience on this song.

First I simply liked it, I wasn't fully satisfied cause I think it lacked of guitar and keyboard solos. Then I kinda disliked it, too short and "lack of solos man"...

But NOW, holy **** I can't even describe how epic this part is!!! (7:14) Fully epicness along with the choruses!

That 7:14 part does resemble "The Landing" from FF8, brings me a lot of nostalgia and satisfaction at same time.

Overall, one of the best songs I've ever heard.

  • @MaximumPayne12 Lol I was playing Final Fantasy VIII all week and I noticed it does sound like that part in the game

  • @MaximumPayne12 i totally agree with you! live at wembley when they got to that fucking amazing instrumental part (7:14) i literally cried ! unfuckingbelivable !!!!!!!! love dt

  • this... is... FANTASTIC!!!

  • me gusta

    demasiado

    :D

  • Chuck Norris is a hunter, but Chuck Norris does not hunt.

  • @McHugh3r3 "Visions come alive" The Bleeding Effect caused Desmond to see, in real life, things that he saw in the Animus. "Seeing through darkness with borrowed eyes" Desmond and the previous sixteen subjects used the Animus to relive their ancestors' memories. "Feeling myself slip away, suddenly dreaming awake" The Bleeding Effect drove Sixteen insane, and I'm guessing other subjects, and Desmond questioned his own sanity when the visions started. There's more, but I don't have room for them.

  • I belched coordinated with the guy at the beginnig. Now I can die peacfuly.

  • I just noticed- the intro is essentially Omnisphere patches: Vertigen Shake and Tuvan Male Raspy 5.

  • If this is what church music sounded like, I'd go.

  • @Sasuwesu I still wouldn't. But I'd download bootleg recordings of church services.

  • Epic!!!

  • The voice in th intro sounds like my geography teacher :D

  • the only explination for the intro is myung speakig

  • @MlKEPORNTOY Haha!

  • Comment removed

  • I can burp the Shamen's voice in the same way. Damn I'm talented!

  • Dream Theater feat. Marge Simpson

  • 0:48 - 1:28 reminds me of the Howard Shore's work on the LOTR soundtrack

  • Every time I hear that 7 string riffage I cream myself. Fucking love this song, its up there with ACOS, Take the Time, Metropolis Pt1+2, and Octavarium

  • @vbdude006 Have you seen it live yet? I was blessed to see the second live performance of this song in history (to my knowledge) at their Sept. 25th show in LA. They opened with it and it was one of the most amazing things I've witnessed, even at a DT concert.

  • @sosaysthelegend i was in the tabbernaclen in atlanta when they opend with this song omg was it good right after trivum was done hahah that was in october man when they played lie i was fliping out!

  • @redvrszach2009 I'm jealous you got to see 'Lie'. Both times I saw them they played 'Caught in a Web', which is a great song, but I want variety and I also prefer 'Lie' to begin with (as far as 'Awake' tracks are concerned).

  • @sosaysthelegend haha great album nither the less right?

  • @redvrszach2009 'Awake'? Yeah, of course. EVERY Dream Theater album is great (including 'When Dream and Day Unite' and 'Falling Into Infinity'). To be honest, 'Awake' never got me the same way as many of their albums, though it has grown on me and there are certainly some amazing tracks ('Erotomania' and 'Space-Dye Vest' come to mind).

  • @sosaysthelegend Unfortunately no :( I saw em last year but I can't see them this year. I did see a bootleg of Bridges with the intro live and it gave me chills. It was beyond epic! :D

  • @vbdude006 That's fucking awesome. I saw it live at their second US show with Manging (EVER!) in LA in September and then two nights ago at The Grove of Anaheim, by far the smallest venue I've ever seen them at. I was about 20 feet from Petrucci. Jesus Christ. So incredible. Even though the setlist was identical (with the exception of adding 'Outcry' to it, which was just mind-blowing and brought me to the verge of tears at the end). This album is unreal. Dream Theater just keeps getting better.

  • @sosaysthelegend Hahaha. Oops, I actually intended this comment for the guy below. It's NOT awesome that you haven't seen it live! But it does show how powerful it is that even a bootleg would have that effect on you. See them as soon as you can even if you have to travel!

  • @sosaysthelegend Haha thanks for rubbing it in bro ;)

    No worries haha

  • @vbdude006 I know, I'm a bastard.

  • @blackt00thgrin69 I wouldn't say their pussy, have you seen their muscles or scary faces? D:

  • aaauuuuummmmm.... check out the flower kings space revolver, they use the same vocal aum sound, kinda cool....

  • Mangini losing his day job = dramatic turn of cements

  • @MlKEPORNTOY Greatest troll ever.

  • @tomekmatus212 Yo, did you realize his name was Mike PORN-TOY :)

  • @GuitarAndWow Haha no xD

  • @GuitarAndWow haahahahahahahah

  • @GuitarAndWow LMAO XD

  • @MlKEPORNTOY u frighten me....

  • sun come shine way

  • Take the Time + Panic Attack + Home + A Nightmare to Remember + The Count of Tuscany = Bridges in the Sky.

    :)

  • I literally can't describe this song..it makes me cry :) brings back old DT memories :(

  • Fucking incredible

  • agarra tus audifonos con los dedos y haz el BUAHHHH!!!

  • From 0:48 to 1:25 I thought Enya was doing the guest vocals

  • this album did not disappoint....AT all

  • this album did not disappoint....AT all

  • good ol dream theater... always givin me such epic tunes to listen to :)

  • Can someone with a good music background (because I dont have one) tell me what Johns guitar is Tuned to?..and what is the chord/note progression from 3:53 - 4:03 ? that chorus part..thanks ppl!

  • @maldrifterxxx I'm not sure but... I bet my hat he is using a 7 string guitar there... so the open air seventh string plays B. I don't think John has tuned it down anymore.

  • @irivero1000 Yes he is using a seven string on this song, i think it's the only one too this one and maybe another one.

  • @maldrifterxxx or maybe drop D, idk. Try both if you can.

  • @maldrifterxxx John uses a 7 string on Bridges in the Sky and Outcry if Im not mistaken

  • for the longest time I've sworn off Dream Theater and I've really really tried to get away from metal, especially for the progressive elements that everyone overdoes. But I've listened to just two songs form this album and I am FLOORED.

I am for sure gonna buy this once I set aside some cash after years of writing these guys off. I hope someone in Dream Theater reads this, you guys really, really, really kicked ass on this

  • Anyone remember the Budweiser frogs? Beginning sounds like they downed a six-pack of warm Coke! Seriously tho, one of my top 5 favorite DT songs! Mangini is unfreakin' real! Just saw 'em last month in Chicago for the eighth time and once again they were amazing!

  • oh my god this is SO FUCKING GOOD.. UGH.

  • There is no description available, for this is indescribable. :3

  • Besides the awesome beginning, all I really need from this song is 7:14 to 10:07 on repeat.

  • The intro is way to similar to the intro of Xibir song from Dimmu Borgir..

  • So if the begging part is Petrucci in the bathroom then that sounds 100x better than anything Justin Beiber has ever done. Sorry to mention the J word just though I would say that.

  • 1:35

    thumbs up

    Yw

  • Maravilhosa execução. :)

  • Epic riff 10:06 - 10:34

  • this is... atmospheric.

  • Am I the only one that finds this voice at the begining and the end of the song creapy and disturbing? I love dream theater and every single of their records, but that voice really creaps me out. :S

  • @satyrludi you should hear it live with all of the lights off

  • @satyrludi its aum (ohm) friend..

  • well at least they use to write good music

  • @BrooKsCarries Well, at least people used to know proper grammar mechanics and punctuation.

  • this song,,,,,,,,,,, is possibly one of my favorite DT songs ever,, and Mangini is a Breast on drums,, hard to believe he was never picked up by a huge band before

  • @tutoch Mike Mangini is tits?! :)))

  • @tutoch rofl you said breast.

  • The voice in the intro sounds like my mom

  • @Uxhenik and like my mom burping too XD

  • @Uxhenik :O tu mama a de ser gigante O_O

  • @Uxhenik I am actually pissing myself with laughter right now. Bravo, sir, bravo. Upvote.

  • to everyone asking about the sound in the intro ... sounds to me kinda like tuvan monk throat singing

  • 7:15 wait... final fantasy VIII?

  • 0:00

Aragorn: We have time. Every day Frodo moves closer to Mordor.

    Gandalf: Do we know that?

Aragorn: What does your heart tell you?

Gandalf: That Frodo is alive. Yes. Yes, he's alive.

    1:33

  • best song ever???=] i think so!

  • This in a Vynil blows my house

  • I can't stop listening to this song.. I love the Chorus and the guitar/keyboard solos!

    Good album..

  • Awesome that they used Tuvan throat singing in the beginning.

  • Hearing the double foot peadl in this song makes me think on DT stepping on Justin Biebers face for some reason.

  • @HotakXvi was it necesary to name justin bieber here? -.-

  • Head bang much?! =)

  • myung on vocals at the beginning... haha

  • @friendOFaNOTfatGUY well, that explains why we never heard it before... heh heh

  • This album sounds like Sabbath in the 80s.

  • yoi dhh

  • My eyes got so big they bulged out of their sockets when i heard the opening O_O

  • The fabric of my vocal cords is TEEAARRRING apart.

  • @MlKEPORNTOY Holy feckin' scheisse, will you please stop hating on every Dream Theater video there is? Seriously, it's obnoxious.

  • @randomchaoticmadness He's a successful DT troll, ignore him if it bothers you so much! I personally find him quite amusing. :D

  • Favorite song.

  • intro is similar to abrahadabra -dimmu

  • they obviously took the song from frank zappa, dio fa for that intro.. check this out.. /watch?v=KS-5Dxhp4OE .. inspiration DT? :(

  • at least adreniline mob spawned out of all this

  • dude i swear in the beginning itsounds likea relly freakin big bull frog...........or a indian
