Nutria are also the only rodents larger than cats, and a cat's hunting style isn't shaking the head once latched onto prey, that's dogs. Cats have extremely weak jaws, the only thing enabling them to win a fight is agility, speed, and leg strength. Back to the rat, my dogs went out there, found my cat, and it ended with chunks of that damn rat all over my yard. No one touches kitty! :D

Also, rats don't come in a sole white variety- they can be large-eared dumbo rats, black and white rats, agouti rats, tan rats, hairless rats and so much more. Also, rats are invasive because of us, who have spawned more contagious diseases than rats. The plague was a disease that was not solely infesting rats.
