It is so thin that it would overheat if it would lie flat, the speakers are very decent and the screen is the average size of an ultralight, It is that small on purpose because most people dont want to lug around 17 inches of laptop with them.
Bad review but if you're someone who doesn't need a powerful laptop but needs portability I see the point. I would buy it. But it is a bit too expensive.

All in all, regular performance in windows should be very good, where games and/or demanding programs (like photoshop) won't do as well at that low frequency.

I have a collection of 300-400 DvD's, and I like to watch movies, since I live at something called an "after school" and we're not allowed TVs but computers. And I don't use steam either, so I have quite a few games where using the CD is required to play the game.

oh no i used to care about specs when i used PCs but now idc. the apple OS X does an amazing job at being fast without much specs and the interface is so nice to use and all the nice features it comes with and its amazingly simple exterior design as well as nice accesories (super thin keyboard) and it doesnt come with junk trialware right out of the box like a PC. it has amazing photo/movie/music/web/everything you need and can think of right out of the box

Before i owned a mac, i didn't care much for Apple myself. But i've owned an iPhone for a time and I saved for a macbook and i must say I've been quite satisfied with both experiences! that's why i like them.
They're not a perfect company, and they're quite expensive (overpriced, i admit it) but I think they are also highly innovative and they make products that their users enjoy (#1 in customer satisfaction).

When you compare exact hardware, they are not THAT overpriced. Most PC's in the same performance category are just a couple hundred dollars cheaper. With the mac you get seamless integration with the hardware and OS. Better quality materials etc.

800 to 720 isn't much of a difference, 800p is used in 16:10 displays and 720p/768p is used in 16:9 displays. So the Vaio X having 80 more pixels isn't much of an achievement being the netbook that it is.

The specifications speak for themselves. So yes, the Macbook Air dominates the Adamo XPS.
On the topic of games, the XPS can run games...while not very well in comparison to the MBA...but it can run games; despite the 4500M HD integrated graphics. e.g. CoD4.
However, the XPS also has more USB ports, a lower clocked CPU, a less-power hungry CPU and due to the Intel graphics, I suspect it would not heat up as much as the Air.

Ultraportable laptops aren't for everyone, especially not non-tech-educated people who just look at "GHz" and "GB" to determine how good a laptop is. Camera phone manufacturers love people like that, happily adding 5 and 8MP sensors to their phones because "bigger is always better".
That's actually true. 8MP is not necessarily better than 3mp. The Nikon D40 is a DSLR camera with only 6MP while today's cellphones have cameras that are at 12MP. Megapixel is abused as a marketing term, like gigahertz (remember 3.6 Ghz Pentium 4's?).
@Entropy56, I use the Latitude XT2 with the same processor. You might be surprised with what it can do. Also keep in mind that the Hertz is not everything. If you do benchmarks the 1.4 GHz processor in this laptop is faster than the earlier Core Duo 2.0 GHz processor.
typing on this will be worse than typing on a flat surface -- you should be typing on a NEGATIVE incline. The ergonomics of this thing is terrible!

oh no i used to care about specs when i used PCs but now idc. the apple OS X does an amazing job at being fast without much specs and the interface is so nice to use and all the nice features it comes with and its amazingly simple exterior design as well as nice accesories (super thin keyboard) and it doesnt come with junk trialware right out of the box like a PC. it has amazing photo/movie/music/web/everything you need and can think of right out of the box

i have a 32 gb ipod touch, an env touch, and i just got a ps3 for christmas. my father drives a lexus gs 07, and my mother drives a landcruiser07. they just bought my sister the honda accord coupe (2009) for 28k. and i asked for an h3. also good luck with maintnence on the benz when you move out. those things are tin cans. oh and for the record, i live on 215 via foresta lane in williamsville, new york. axes once again 15k. home itself 1.4m. not poor. fortunately i realise that im on my own

nice we recently got the bose lifestyle v30! 5.1 its amazing!!!! and im done arguing macs just work out best for me with my lifestyle and PCs to you and both are better in their own way and to be honest the last PC i used is the ancient XP home!!! but yeah we got the bose system set up with a projector HT system.. it kiks ass! and its about 250inches the only thing i disagree with is mac users being liars.. i for one am not. and yeh benz is gonna kill with maintenance but the E class is amazing

i know apple didn't "invent" touch screens, or app stores. but they did them 10x better then any competition.
before the iPhone, touch screens were much less user-friendly. many still used styluses. multi-touch changed that!
if you think Apple's App Store is nothing special, take a look to where all the money is being made. take a look where all the developers are flocking. the App Store for iPhone is doing much better then ANY competition. even the android store pales in comparison!

Before i owned a mac, i didn't care much for Apple myself. But i've owned an iPhone for a time and I saved for a macbook and i must say I've been quite satisfied with both experiences! that's why i like them.
They're not a perfect company, and they're quite expensive (overpriced, i admit it) but I think they are also highly innovative and they make products that their users enjoy (#1 in customer satisfaction).

When you compare exact hardware, they are not THAT overpriced. Most PC's in the same performance category are just a couple hundred dollars cheaper. With the mac you get seamless integration with the hardware and OS. Better quality materials etc.

adamo xps is the thinnest laptop yet the biggest failure at the same time
a macbook air has 2.13ghz 6mb cache vs 1.4ghz and 3mb, has way batter graphics, better screen and better resolution (800 vs 720 horizontal), way better design, smaller footprint, and guess what 0.2 lbs lighter
wake up Dell,Sony vaio X is 50% the weight of this gimmick laptop, has HIGHER resolution, and is less expensive

Yes, because the Vaio X uses an Atom processor. Wrong class comparison.
800 to 720 isn't much of a difference, 800p is used in 16:10 displays and 720p/768p is used in 16:9 displays. So the Vaio X having 80 more pixels isn't much of an achievement being the netbook that it is.
Kudos to Dell for innovating new design and not churning out the same thing every year like Sony does.

well the 2.13ghz processor crushes the 1.4ghz on the xps, and the 9400M is maybe 20 time more powerful than the integrated graphics

The specifications speak for themselves. So yes, the Macbook Air dominates the Adamo XPS.
On the topic of games, the XPS can run games...while not very well in comparison to the MBA...but it can run games; despite the 4500M HD integrated graphics. e.g. CoD4.
However, the XPS also has more USB ports, a lower clocked CPU, a less-power hungry CPU and due to the Intel graphics, I suspect it would not heat up as much as the Air.

There's no need to change the battery let alone upgrade the memory (on a mobile phone?? wtf?), millions of people use and love iTunes, you can change the homepage layout AND, if you jailbreak, the background (though that's blatantly just not that big a deal =|). The camera's not the absolute best in the world but the video on it is pretty astounding.
You're being a bit of an idiot. The iPhone (though mainly thanks to its Apps) is obviously one of the most useful portable devices conceivable.

Ultraportable laptops aren't for everyone, especially not non-tech-educated people who just look at "GHz" and "GB" to determine how good a laptop is. Camera phone manufacturers love people like that, happily adding 5 and 8MP sensors to their phones because "bigger is always better".

That's actually true. 8MP is not necessarily better than 3mp. The Nikon D40 is a DSLR camera with only 6MP while today's cellphones have cameras that are at 12MP. Megapixel is abused as a marketing term, like gigahertz (remember 3.6 Ghz Pentium 4's?).

@Entropy56, I use the Latitude XT2 with the same processor. You might be surprised with what it can do. Also keep in mind that the Hertz is not everything. If you do benchmarks the 1.4 GHz processor in this laptop is faster than the earlier Core Duo 2.0 GHz processor.
