The amount of work that goes into just a couple-three-four seconds of actual filmed action of any kind is just amazing! This behind-the-scenes video clip demonstrates that. Who knew? Right? Absolutely astounding. Hats off to everybody in this clip. Bravo! :D
waaaaait a minute... I just read the whole book last night and nobody got torched in starter fluid... must be something added in for the movie :P (I like it though)
THIS ACUALLY WORKS!!!! 1.)say the name of your crush 2 times 2.)say the name of your bestfriend 5 times 3.)post this onto 5 other videos and then press f8 and then ur crushes name will appear on the screen.!!!
Many people liked it. Some people didn't. Everyone has different opinions and different tastes. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean you have to thumb them down or try to sound hateful/rude to them. All the director of this movie was trying to do was to emulate the 50's B-movie style, because that's how King envisioned his story, in the first place. So if you see some bad acting, it's merely on purpose. Just open your mind a bit more and try to understand the reasons.
The short story is a definite good read. I'm in the middle of it right now which is hilarious because I was an extra in the film when it was made. But the props folks bought every single copy in town for the movie and I haven't been able to get a copy until recently. Don't worry about the ending. I have a feeling it will be different than the book.
If you haven't already, check out our website on myspace - themistextras. It was an honor for me to be one of the core extras who worked on this film for almost a month.
That's cool. I only noticed "The Shining", I didn't really know it was all his books (I guess the reason why I only noticed "The Shining" was because of how the cover was). Anyways, I'm sure Mr. Darabont is going to do the story justice. I mean, he did "Shawshank Redemption" and "Green Mile". Kinda makes me wish he would also do "Dolan's Cadillac".
If you pay close attention to the video at 1:56-2:04, you can spot a copy of Stephen King's "The Shining" on the book rack (the more recent publication of the novel).
An interesting fact about the book rack: The book rack was filled with all Stephen King's books and at one point in the movie there is a specific closeup of a photo of King from the back of one of the books. That shot was to be a substitution for a cameo of him in the movie. I remember them talking about it that day on set.
So much work, yes, and a great experience being in this film. Thanks for watching.

Film-making is so boring. It's amazing people do that for 14 hours a day.

"The Mist" is a short story that can be found in the anthology "Skeleton Crew". Sorry for any confusion. :)
bijeto 4 years ago
I hope that they dont butcher this like they do with most King book-to-movie transformations.
Lokust007 4 years ago
This is like dead on though except the ending is different.
tetsunosuke1 4 years ago
Sweetage, the only problem now is that nowhere I know is showing it and I can't find it anywhere...
Lokust007 4 years ago
The story is definately creepy; a very different kind of horror- so yes, I would say read it. The story can be found in the book "Skeleton Crew".

I hope we get a trailer for this soon. It'd be great to have two good Stephen King adaptations in one year (1408 was nice and creepy).
