Just look at our solar system, a group of planets within relatively close proximity to each other and not one of them has similar properties. Besides, even if they launched this Darwin mission, it could be millions of years before it lands on anything, and it might not even land on a planet. There's a lot of empty space out there.....

@reaktionmusic He has a motor illness that caused him to lose the ability to move at a young age, and was unable to speak when he received surgery due to having pneumonia during his illness. So basically using the chair is the only way he can communicate. For more info just go to wikipedia.

If no ultimate base exists then all foundations r mere relativism, hence no morals at all have any binding power over anyone at all
Under atheism, since theres no supreme mind to enforce any invented morals, there is no moral law & all invented laws r just the tyranny of the ones over the others
Ergo in atheism nothing is inappropriate

@lordsong7 I admire your use of rhetoric, as I am also well versed in nomenclature, and I'm sure you're the winner of many arguments. However, I find your response to my statement prosaic and contumacious. From here on I shall write in the vernacular.
Firstly, you base your argument on the canonical belief that 'God' created the moral/ethical compass when in fact man did. I guess you'll probably direct me to God's revelation at Sinai where he gave Moses the ten commandments.

@lordsong7Secondly how exactly does a 'supreme mind' enforce moral behavior? Your leitmotif seems to be a battle against atheism. Good luck with that considering you can't prove God exists, and even if you could what makes you think atheists would care? Your argument is counterintuitive, all social groups have their own ethical codes and morals but ultimately people choose for themselves how to behave. You chose to make a sexual remark to a person you were assuming was 13 years old.

@Iordsong Atheists are not so lucky and have to learn from their mistakes and become aware of their short-commings in order learn and act differently in the future. It would certainly appear that under such a system of guaranteed forgivness from God, things would have the potential to go completely Mad Max esque. You are correct in one thing, there is no moral law that has any power over anyone.

@lordsong7 I do agree that the ignorancy if directly rejecting any theory related to religion, but out of a scientific sight, the believe in a god as any religion tells just can't be, nonetheless, when trying to come to the essence of the universe, the only solve we can think of right now IS religion, right as it was intended.
Religion was a creation by us, we invented it to clarify things our minds could not comprehend, and perhaps we maybe got a part of the solve with that, maybe not.

When I first saw this show announced, I was immediately hooked! By no means am I a Sci-Fi fan, I don't own any Start Wars films, nor do I pay attention to any stereotypical "nerd" cult such as Star Trek or Lord of the Rings, but I'll be damned - This is THE BEST alien-life documentary I have ever seen, by far!
What I love about it is how scientific it is, yet at the same time, so entertaining! Awesome! And amazing that this is not better-known.. What a well-kept secret, gem of a doc this is :)

@NCAstronut Evolution is happening in our on society. Did you have wisdom Teeth? The answer is most likely yes. But the fact of the matter is, less and less people (including my own siblings) are being born and not developing wisdom teeth at all. Wanna know why? Because we no longer have a use to for them and EVOLUTION is making them disappear in society. Small genetic differences cause evolution, it doesn't happen over night.

Evolution is what they teach, but that does not make it TRUTH, or FACT. It's just a bunch of opinions, or so called well educated people. They want you to believe it so much, they teach it as fact, and fill young kids minds full of this nonsense. There is no evidence to that can be verified buy a single person to prove it.

Thousands of years have gone by since we needed wisdom teeth, now with reproduction and genetic differences, they are going away. That sir, is evolution. They aren't evolving into man because they don't have the genes to. We have the genes to grow fully functioning tails. They just went away, like the genes for wisdom teeth are. Because we no longer need them. We were animals, we are animals, and will always BE animals. There, now I'm done.

@reaktionmusic He has a motor illness that caused him to lose the ability to move at a young age, and was unable to speak when he received surgery due to having pneumonia during his illness. So basically using the chair is the only way he can communicate. For more info just go to wikipedia.

I guess like anything else you get used to your artificial voice as much as you get used to your regular one and maybe it would be weird to change it after all these years.. And maybe the chair is super-comfy. I don't have lou gherig's or anything... but i DO have chronic bone and joint pain due to illness. And if i've learned anything about ergonomics in that time it's that the ugliest setups are often the most comfortable. ^_^
