  • classic american junk food.

  • which part of chiang mai is this ?

  • you forgot to add some flying dirt, smog, car/truck fume....HMM HMM HMM Taste good!!!

  • Youtube Documentary - They Sold Their Souls For Rock And Roll

  • Yes. This is why I like Pattaya. So many smaller streets just off the main streets where all the vendors are. Get freshly prepared food 24 hours a day. Bangkok can be a bit more diffiult. Not as many street vendors and push carts.

  • you guys are crazy with the king !! it'S dictatorship!! I pitty the fool

  • Dictatorship? Not reallyh. But the military does rule and will overthrow whoever they want when they want. Constitution? Just ignored when convenienet. Thailand has had many many coups in the last decades

  • I spent just under 18 months in CM, and I miss it more than anything else, I would move to live there in a flash if it was possible...I am going back to live there someday soon...Long Live the King of Thailand....

  • I am looking at moving to CM is it really that good

  • Do you have any footage of Somphet market in Chiang Mai? So many memorable evenings eating Kao-Ka-Moo (I can't write it better!) and noodle soup there, all while watching the Spicy bar folly across the street!

    I miss Thailand terribly..

  • i miss my home town, country and the food. hope to back soon can't wait.

  • Pom rakk gow pat gai duai kai !!

  • thai food aroy!!! I'm just came back from Chiangmai. One of the food I fully recommended is the Coke Noodle with chicken!!!

  • This video makes me hungry. I could go for a nice bowl of noodles, some Thai sausage and satay. However, here in the states, that same bowl of noodles will probably cost you from around $5.50 to $8.00.

  • A bowl of noodles is about 20 to 25 baht in 2009.

Thai Baht 20.0 THB = 0.603228 USD US Dollar

  • Thai food has to be the best in the world. Do not be scared to eat from street hawkers they are probably as safe as any restaurant in London or New York, just be careful where the meat has been cooked and then left out. By rule of thumb, if the food is fresh cooked in front of you, it is likely to be safe.

    Can't wait to go back:)

  • In all of my 29 years I have never had a better

piece of Fried Chicken than the stuff I found in Chiang Mai. Northern Thailand is a mountain paradise. For your next vacation skip Florida, California, or Hawaii. Go straight for Southeast Asia. It will change your life.

  • I have ... in 2004, then went back in 2005 twice in 2006 and now will live in Bangkok! I love the Thais and Thailand ! Long Live the King of Thailand, may he live over 100+ Years!

  • i miss chiangmai ;chiangmai is my hometown ;now i live in europe and long time i didt back to visit there

  • aroy mack phad thai, noodle soup and chang beer

  • Ate at these stalls daily throughout the country and never got sick. Avoided anything with ice though, only bottled water.

  • I LOVE CHIANG MAI!!

  • Thanks for the video! I really miss Chiang Mai and I especially miss the food. I never quite understood why someone would go for a burger when you could have amazingly good Thai street food. While I normally eat healthy, the fried pork skin in Chaing Mai was sublime.

  • Thai food is really special, but please be careful about eating on the streets like some of the food stands shown in the video. If you're new to Thailand (first time tourist) your system may not have the antibiotics and you'll end up with Bangkok Belly and spending your vacation time touring the restrooms of the country.

And yup, the fried pork is great, even has a pleasant sounding Thai name "Cat Moo".

    OK enough preaching -- Sorry!

  • Cat Moo--that does sound nice. My rule of thumb for street food was simple, always eat at the stall with the longest line. I did have some Bangkok Belly but the local pharmacists were great--yea Cipro!! Speaking of Bankok, there's a little stand just outside the university that makes the best fried chicken on the planet. mmmmmmmm.

  • Again, total agreement, there are places throughout the country that really have some great fried chicken; better than the American classic (KFC). If you're in Chiang Mai try the fried chicken stand, just outside the west wall of the central prison.

Another treat try the fruit favored "honey" in your morning coffee!

  • @alanespinney cat moo is fried pork skin . those are like snacks . it's tasty

  • I never got sick from street food in 8 months of being in Thailand for university. Only one time from som tam that was too damn hot but good anyway. Ahh, sticky rice and som tam with some grilled chicken. Now you make me want to cry!

  • MyThailand eating off the streets in any country could have an adverse effect on your stomach, over ten years eating street food and the only time I've had food poisioning was from a very popular restaurant in Koh Samui.

  • how much do meals cost?

  • Good question -- usually meals on the street, as shown mostly throughout this video, are less than $1.00 USD, whereas meals in somewhat more established businesses range from $1.00 to $2.00 USD. Upper scale Thai establishments $25.00 to $50.00 USD.

  • I miss those prices, 25 baht ( around 65 cents) for a meal. I am going broke eating out in the states.
