I find it hilarious that republicans try to paint this bill as a new entitlement when it's nothing of the sort! There is no government sponsored health provider anywhere. The only entitlement that has been added over the last 10 years is by Republicans with Medicare Part D which was never paid for and was the largest entitlement since Medicare!

I thought they only liked watchin' football, nailin' cheerleaders & drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon. No, they're really into some heavy stuff. Nobody uses the Crimson Tide's college library so they let me in w/o a student ID. Strictly pass/fail for me so if I did get accepted it would have been to UC Santa Cruz. It is sad.

That fact is exactly why we have the 2nd amendment. There are more people than most people realize, that will reluctantly protect their freedom with force. Our Declaration of Independence clearly states " it is their [the people's] right, it is their duty, to throw off such [oppressive] Government" They need to tread lightly, the people are pissed.

It allows me to see how dense people are on this topic of healthcare that they think they just "need immediately"...President took quite some time off after the Massachusetts election, what happened to those suffering then...didn't they need healthcare? He can vote no for me and uphold the "Party of No" title for Repubs. Why? Because it will destroy the American economy and lead to people getting less than what they pay for (as with ALL gov't programs). Taking an economics course in high school would help you to see that remaking 1/7th of a productive economy, that doesn't need drastic comprehensive reform, would be detrimental to the standard of living and also to the future state of this country.

The five largest US health insurance companies set new profit records in 2009, while the greatest economic downturn since the Great Depression sent millions of Americans onto the unemployment line and into poverty.
The five firms reported $12.2 billion in profits last year, an increase of $4.4 billion, or 56 percent, over 2008. At the same time, 2.7 million Americans who had been enrolled in private health plans the year before lost their coverage.

No one is singing the praises of Insurance Companies here, there needs to be reform just not what is proposed. This idea that what Democrats have proposed is what needs to pass is asinine. They need smart, efficient reforms not trillions of dollars that will bankrupt us. Think in terms of household spending and what you would do should you lose your job, home, insurance...."you wouldnt go blow your money in vegas, when you should be saving for college"...
