To answer your second question: Daniel Bryan was briefly fired after using a cable to choke out a ring announcer during an invasion angle they were doing with the original Nexus faction. He was improvising and took it too far in WWE's eyes, but this was RIGHT after the first NXT season had finished and Bryan's was receiving a significant push.

Fans were ecstatic about the spotlight he was getting, and so when he was fired fans were pissed off and wanted their Daniel Bryan back.
