coffeefish, there is 2 problems. First, The Democrats holds a Senate Majority of 51-49 and every time a bill gets passed by the House or Senate, Bush vetoes those bills. Afterwards, another vote takes place to override his vetoes and they cannot get enough votes to do that. The Senate is very crucial, they need at least 60 seats in the Senate to have a filibuster.

yes, many do. mine in fact. it cover's all prescription drugs (including viagra) EXCEPT for birth control. It also covers most outpatient procedure (with a copay, of course) EXCEPT "voluntary family planning" (ie- vasectomies, tubal ligation, iuds).

Luckily, I have insurance (which I pay $300 a month for) that allows me to pay $50 for each prescription. Just think of what ppl have to go thru who need their monthly meds to survive and have no insurance.

coffeefish, there is 2 problems. First, The Democrats holds a Senate Majority of 51-49 and every time a bill gets passed by the House or Senate, Bush vetoes those bills. Afterwards, another vote takes place to override his vetoes and they cannot get enough votes to do that. I guarantee you that once Democrats pick more seats in House and Senate and Obama is president, things will change dramatically. The Senate is very crucial, they need at least 60 seats in the Senate to have a filibuster.

yes, many do. mine in fact. it cover's all prescription drugs (including viagra) EXCEPT for birth control. It also covers most outpatient procedure (with a copay, of course) EXCEPT "voluntary family planning" (ie- vasectomies, tubal ligation, iuds).
That wasn't a cheap shot. These are issues that need addressing. The insurance companies aren't going to fix it unless someone makes them fix it!

Women have ALWAYS had to worry about it. That's why it is important for women to see this and get out there and VOTE FOR THEIR HEALTH. If Viagra were NOT covered, it wouldn't be an issue - we'd all pay the same as everyone else should. But it was McCain's OWN WIFE who said in his last campaign that she felt they should both be covered by insurance. McCain's memory meds should be too...and doubled. XD

Obviously you are a guy.......if insurance covers stuff to pump you up to eventually release sperm, then, insurance should cover birth control to keep the sperm from becoming a surprise to to a woman. She just wanted to know if he was going to be fair on both sides. But as with most politicians he had to think long and hard on how to answer so as to please everyone so he can be elected.

If they made a pill to STOP erections, then we could use that to keep rapists and molesters from impregnating victims...but no, THAT pill doesn't exist...but a 'morning after pill' does and birth control does. Some women take birth control to regulate periods - for health reasons as well. Any drug that is for sexual HEALTH should be covered, not just Viagra.

I agree with you on many things, but I think this is just a situation where John McCain honestly couldn't remember enough about the issue or his vote to discuss it. Regardless of where he stands on various social issues, I don't think that he is as radical as George W. Crotch-hair. I actually like John McCain a lot better than Obama...and I voted for Kerry in 2004.

Actually, that's about average for a months of any kind of drugs in the U.S. Some of my meds I take every month are over that amount. Luckily, I have insurance (which I pay $300 a month for) that allows me to pay $50 for each prescription. Just think of what ppl have to go thru who need their monthly meds to survive and have no insurance.
