I don't care what anyone says, Dynasty Warriors was the first of it's kinda, and will always have the greatest combination in gaming- amazing Game play, and mind boggling music, and that's how it's always going to be.

Best character in this game is Gan Ning.

Second has to be Zhang Liao.

Why? Because they have moves that can kill an entire troop unit pretty much instantly. Drains morale extremly fast. Also gan ning's musou can kill officers usually instantly even on hard mode with a good weapon and Lu Bu as your officer.

@Haunterpnoy I know I'm late, but this > Strikeforce. Koei had the right idea, but the fact that they didn't keep the same format, which is army vs armies on the battlefield, really kill it for me + this is a classic, which basically put DW where it at today.

@doublenono88 DW Multi Raid 2 (strikeforce 2) just came out in Japan and while it is not army vs army, it does fix alot of the problems with the first one (mostly contol issues and tforcing you to stay airborne) so it feels like a DW game. I look for the third Multi Raid (strikeforce) to go in the army vs army direction again.

Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warrior. and Warriors Orochi has always been Ninja Gaiden Mixed with strategy and RPG elements for me. and its sweet! :D i love KOEI for making those AWESOME games.

They should have released it with Japanese voice acting like they did with Warriors Orochi 2 here in the west. The English voice acting is weird to say the least.

If you don't like it, get a Nintendo DS or search for PSP tactical games.

It's because Dynasty Warriors is based off of the Historical period known as The Three Kingdoms Period. Theycan't change history further than the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms has because then it wouldn't be based on history.

The thing I hate about this game is that you can't level up your characters and you have to depend on your officers to give you life, attack, defense, etc, and the officers really SUCK at fighting.

dude on Dynasty Warriors 4 for the PS2/PC they had a option called Officer Creator, its where you make your own character. My guy has a white robe and a giant 2 handed sword.

LOL if you only occupy the villages and treasure troves, you wont get a 100% completetion. I have finished the game already. All the stages, all the 4 kingdoms, and an overall 100% completion. I am starting on the Combinations now.

I have this game, and in the battle of chang ban, I always run out of supplies or the general dies. If I stay close to the general, I run out of supplies. If I go conquering the depots, the general dies. what am I supposed to do?

conquer supply bases but stick close to the general, if that doesnt work then just get bases and every time you get one, look for where the general is and see if he is under attack if not that go for another base, but if he is then go to his aid

you are supposed to keep the general safe by constantly fending off those guys trying to kill him. and also constantly occupying depots, forts and all other squares of each level to get a 100% completion!

I have this game, and I dunno what I did wrong, but for every single mission I complete, the next mission Im back to Level 1, even if I'm using the same character. I finished The Yellow Turban Rebellion, and went to Battle at Hu Lao castle, using the same character. At the end of the Yellow turban rebellion my char was lvl.8 and as sson as i started the next mission my char was back to lvl.1 Is this supposed to happen? o.O

yeah thats normal, when u beat a mission your lv is reset but the charactars base stats go up. for example, a characters base attack is 80. at the end of the mission hes lv 9 and its at 140. he's reset, but his base attack becomes 90, get it?

You get a game over cause u run outta time (look at blue bar) and the objective is to capture the tent with a flag on it, the enemy's base

the aim of the game is to kill people,and go to their main camp and kill the commander..

there are depots(get life refil),atk and def bases,strongholds,(retreated/d­ead people come here,not you.) and the main camp! get that and you win.

also,other objectives include killing somebody before they escape and taking a series of bases.

okay, so when you are looking at the map (with the blue are red squares) how to you know which one to go to? sometimes it will say under "conditions", but most times it is not clear enough for me. if there is an ememy base on a map, i know to go to it, but sometime there is no base. i have a lot of questions, so i guess i'll just start with those. again, thanks to everyone helping me!

Well the blue coloured sqs are your side, and the red are your foes side.(duh..)and well, you choose which one to go using the lines leading towards another sq. Also,sometimes you have to take over a certain base/foe or wait really.

Going to a certain sq is your choice though,

its very simple all u need to do is read wats happening, and take a good look at the map to try and understand it i worked it all out after playing for about 30 minutes, and look press start and look in history to look back on wats happened..hope this helps
