You have to be able to use your ears to hear the emotion. You can't just watch and understand. The whole package has layers. It's different than 'stairway to heaven.' Rather than having epic lyrics, epic singing, epic music, and epic theatrics, and epic presentation, Not all elements of the package are congruent. It's interesting and complicated in a different sort of way.The performance is done in an apathetic way, while the music is relaxing, while the lyrics are excitedandemotional

The two things most overrated in music: technical skill and originality. Honestly those things don't matter if your sound is interesting and you can arrange a good song. It's been proven time and time again. Of course people who have those things are interesting, but look at a band like the Mars Volta. they're thoroughly original and great at their instruments, but their music is so empty

I LOVE THE VIVIAN GIRLS! I love their sound! It is melodic with killer hooks and a buzz and blast topping. The lyrics and vocals have a killer emotional kick. I am going to say it again. If you are not a Vivian Girls fan, there is no hope for you. The sound on these video recordings could be a lot better. Buy some of their CDs or see them live!

Their instruments may be Squier and not Fender Custom Shop but the music that comes from those Squiers and their hearts couldn't sound better coming from a custom shop. The Vivian Girls are a shining example of the fact that just because you have a 3,000 dollar guitar doesn't mean you instantly sound great. Their honest songwriting and hooky riffs make me have some hope for music today.

Low quality, entry level guitars. Looks like the bass also is a squire. But if they like what they're using I guess that's alright for them. I and several others just don't like it. So I can't say I'm not biased. And I'm pretty sure they have something better by now.

But really as long as you make something good out of it then I guess no one would complain, it would just be harder to satisfy everyone.

But hey, at least they're doing something.
