Real men also cry. These men are the DEFINITIONS of men and to see these men's eyes moisten like that really makes me understand their pain and plight the pride and patriotism the power and potential of mankind and humanity.
Thank you Patriot Guard Riders of NY, you were there to help us bring my cousin Christopher Scott home, there for the calling hours, and standing across from us in a field when we laid our Fallen hero to rest, you are an awesome group of people, that brought a calm to our community words cannot express how I feel about these groups, God Bless You All
I´m happy they do that, I´m neither American or pro war but those soldiers fought against the taliban and al gaida. Anyone who have been protecting the people of Afganistan and Iraq from those douches deserves respect.
The PGR stand for what far too many of our veterans never got when they finished their service: a welcome home, and an honored farewell. Thus we carry on the legacy of all who have served this country both here and abroad. Bikers know the meaning of honor. We are not books to be judged by our covers.
wbc shows up in my town for a prtest against a brave soldier named joshua mcclimans. i am grateful to these men who are going to be there to shield the family from these disrespectful people. thank you fgr for showing respect for this man and helping out. and i will be there next to them to support them.
They were at the funeral service in Council Bluffs, IA for Sgt. Brent Maher, killed in Afghanistan from an IED on 4/7/11. I was there helping counter-protest against the WBC. Thank you Patriot Guard.
"I'm not american, but i got respect for all thoses braves soldiers who gaves their lives, and to the PGR. I think it a nice way to pay respect to all familys of deads soldiers.
I discover the PGR when i watch a video of them blocking the Westboro Baptist Church, i was so happy the see them blocking the WBC. Thank god for the PGR. The famillys of dead soldiers don't ned to have thoses crazy WBC when they are crying there loves one at funeral.
The Patriot Guard Riders helped my family say goodbye to my brother, James Knight, on April 4, 2011 in Pittsburg, Texas. You guys are awesome, and I can't express what your acts meant for us. My brother came home from Vietnam to protests, and was even spat on - he wasn't welcomed, but he went Home with respect. Thank you for what you do.
I'm British but what these riders represent goes against every negative connotation associated with America. It only saddens me they are needed to attend funerals.
I don't necessarily believe in patriotism, but these guys are awesome, and I've huge respect for what they do. Big hearts. From the UK, keep up the great work, guys.
As for any WBC members out there, I hope a zebra shits on your foot.
Im English, and our soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq have been fighting against religious fascists in those countries, im glad our American brothers and sisters are opposing the same kinds of people in the US
This brings tears to my eyes. Such love and compassion, not like those who protest at funerals, what does that accomplish just pain for the families left behind

The PGR doesn't have a stance on war but are there to pay tribute to our warriors & their families. WE also ride for police, firefighters, & 1st responders.
I saw a group of Patriot Guard Riders on the highway the other day. All I could do was give them a big thumbs up but I wish I could have told them directly how great their work is.
Wonderful video. I've proudly joined the Patriot Guard myself, currently active duty USN. I've loved my nation since I could remember and even after I leave the service will still continue to honor and love those who sacrifice their personal lives on a daily basis to protect the country we hold so dear.
The PGR was very kind to my family during what was one of our darkest hours. I am grateful for everything they did for my family and my husband. RIP A1C Carl Ware Jr
I was the lead ride captain for the PGR mission for LCpl Stephen L. Morris. Stephen came home on New Year’s Day 2006. He was the 1st KIA from our area to came home on a charter flight. The escort home is in some of the video. We had over 140 riders escort Stephen home even though his flight was a few hours late. Almost everyone of our riders waited at the airport. The amazing thing was that all the folks in Lake Jackson waited for the procession on the roadside with flags & signs for hours
God Bless America and all those who stand for her and beside her. We're not perfect but we allow others the freedom to judge us. By doing that we are righteous and good and can always stand tall. We should not let hate blind our meaning of justice. As tough as it is to resist enforcing our respect on others, gain strength from the trials and stand taller still. Patriot Guard Riders you are heroes! Smile and be strong. Resist the temptation to rip the head off of some WBC sign waving fanatic ;]
I still serve and it gives me goosebumps, chills, and my eyes water to know that such a honorable group go out and extend themselves to the full extent of their entire DoD family.
Love this report. Kept the focus on the Patriot Guards and the fallen soldiers. Only a brief mention of "protesters disrupting funerals" so they don't inadvertently give them free publicity.
These men and women are not giving a position on the war or anything they are just supporting the young man or woman killed. Lets all let the hate go and just love each other. Pro or Con on the war these men and women who are in the miliatary joined to better themselves in life. We owe them the respect they deserve.
To Patriot Guard across the nation, to any who happen to see this post, God Bless you. Thank you. For remembering what it's really about. Thank you. Regardless of why is started, what happens during the war, or the ending, or how people feel, the point remains that US men and women are being killed. Nothing beyond that matters. From privates on up to commanders, lives are on the line and being lost. You honor the US Military with your presence and your dedication. God Bless you all.
I had the opportunity to ride w/my soldier who is soon to leave for his 3rd tour of Iraq, along side the Patriot Guard Riders & several who joined them(what an emotional day). We were in Minden, La,to honor a fallen soldier,Army Sergeant Joshua Tomlinson who was killed in Afghanistan by a road side bomb this month.
Who would have thought that threat effort of the Westboro Baptist Church being in this small little town of La.could bring such a diverse group of people together.
As a Patriot Guard Rider...I will ride as long as I can...as a Patriot...I will be so until the time when the PGR will ride for me.....it is comforting to me that sometime, someplace down the road, someone I don't know will make the effort to say..."MISSION COMPLETE" RIP....
Chargers2566- You are correct, politics never enters into honoring our defenders. You don't have to agree with their efforts, only that they are over there doing a duty that all should share. These rides are double edged. 1-Our troops deserve no less than to be honored. 2- In all my rides, I find that my fellow riders & I still cloud up. And the smiles on the faces of the families are priceless. These events humble every one of us....a little bit more with every ride. God speed, my brothers.
chargers2566- You are correct, politics has nothing to do with honoring those that do their duty. Too many people take the time to criticize but don't bother to thank those that continue to see those rights maintained. They're too busy with "more important things." There is nothing more important than standing up and fighting for our God given rights. The PGR doesn't ask for recognition only that those that do their duty are honored.
I would suspect that most of these guys were in the military. People need to understand that when we did our time in the military, we all did our part to earn our freedom, and we survived that. Now we can enjoy our lives, doing what we want to do. For us, it's riding motorcycles, for the most part. It's also raising a family and doing what all Americans take for granted. When we ride we do a lot of thinking, and we are humbled with what we have, and think of the others that died for us.
i agree frisky but i have to say that the PGR members are some of the real heroes and great people like them are what's needed for the families of the fallen. though they may not want thanks it is truly deserved to them.
Thank You Patriot Honor Guard Riders. If it weren't for all of your Patioric souls, many heros would not have such an honorable funeral. - T.J. Yang loving patriot. - God Bless.
All of those that are members of the PGR, thank you for what you do for the fallen military members of our country. It is something that truly touches my heart, so again thank you for everything you do.
I ride with the S.E. Texas PGR. Thses ride are a double edged sword. I hate them because it means another patriot has given all and their families now have an empty chair at the dinner table. I've taken my grandsons on a few rides & even thought beforehand they only knew what I described to them but during & after the ride I can see the lights have come on for them. One has joined his ROTC unit. I'm proud of them, my fellow riders and those we reluctantly ride for.
LittoMoonLight- As kramerd3 said, "It's the least we can do." Our fighting men & women deserve to be called heroes, not we that ride to honor them & their families. A motorcycle isn't necessary to ride. We often have 4 wheelers accompany the fallen. We ALL have time to thank them, just set that time aside. If you look, you will see there is always time to thank those that deserve our support. "All Gave Some, Some Gave All."
May God bless the peacekeepers. I read that somewhere. :)
thank you very much sir. it's good to know that we're taken care of by good men and women back home to help ease the pain for our families should something happen to us. I am a member of the 1st armored div. and thank you all from the bottom of my heart for taking care of us and being there when our families are in need of help
Wildmustang00--I will humbly speak for other riders in the PGR. A thank you to us is undeserved. It is we that thank you my brother for doing your duty and the sacrifices all of you make. Please pass along to our brothers in arms our prayers for your safety and a speedy victory so all of you can get your asses back home to us.When you are coming home, have your families reach the PGR. We will be honored to be there to welcome you home from a job well done. Never forget, we love you.
Everyone in the 4th brigade 1st armored division extends their thanks for your prayers and thanks you for the support you give us in our times of need and for looking after our fallen brothers/sisters in arms and helping their families. You all have our thanks and gratitude for everything you have done for all of us in the United States military.
@RangerAlways, Thank you for all that you do. I say this to every serviceman or woman I encounter, now if I ever happen to see any PGR in my part of TX I'll be sure to thank them as well.
If you truly love your country, not necessarily the government, and consider yourself a patriot you will be welcomed by the Patriot Guard. It will cost you your time, nothing else. The payoff is love, respect, honor, and going home knowing you eased the pain of a soldiers family.
We expect NOTHING! It's the least we can do for those who gave all! PGR New York here. When military personnel at PGR missions come up to me and extend their hand in gratitude, I am overwhelmed with pride and that, my friends is a priceless reward! God Bless America
I can't thank the members of your great organization enough. You guys are truly some of the greatest Americans I have ever had the priviledge of meeting. I've had to bury a few friends who I've lost while deployed, and support from patriots like you helps all of us. It's rare to meet people as self-less and caring as your members. God Bless America (and especially the PGR!).
To all patriot guard members who might see this comment-Thank you! I am currently serving in the KSARNG in Egypt for the MFO peacekeeping mission, and we were honored to have the patriot guard escort us to our departure ceremony in Salina, KS. Thank you for all you do, from one soldier.
My name is JIMMYB and im a member of the patriot guard in michigan, the best way to join is to find out on the web to see if you have a state pgr group, if not we have a national web site you can join.
Remember you dont have to have a bike all you need is respect, i dont have a bike and i have been a member since march 09.....GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS
The PGR are an example of selfless dedication and compassion that we don't see enough of during these troubled times. Let's hope that thru their example people who view those who ride as the stereotypical outlaw criminal will realize that under all that leather and denim are real human beings with hearts as big as the country they revel riding in.
I would also love to see a critical mass type group of road bicyclists in patriotic cycling attire out there too. If you mobilized all the bicyclists in an area you could get probably hundreds of folks out there.
There is no better way for a military member's family to see their loved one go than a massive parade of the red white and blue they lived and died for. The flag lives, and they live forever.
Patriot Guard, I have so much to say but I am going to keep it short. THANK YOU FOR THE WONDERFUL THINGS YOU DID FOR THE FALLEN HEROES. I AM AN IRAQI VET, AND I HAD LOST FRIENDS AND WITH YOUR UNSELFISH WAYS, CAN REALLY BRING COMFORT FOR US. YOU MAKE IT EASIER TO COPE WITH A LOST LOVE ONE AND OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN ARMS. THANK YOU SO MUCH
When my friend died in Iraq on Valentines Day in '06... They showed up and rode from the funeral to the grave site and spent ime talking to all of us... We were very thankful for them showing up. God bless them!!!!!
These riders are one of the best things to happen to this country!!!! Just to see how there are good people out there. Thank you to all of the Patriot Riders...
I believe they do go on line and search Patriot Guard there is a chapter in every state, and as far as breaking news they just escorted 2 tractor trailer loads of wreaths going to Arlinton each state chapter did it in their own state and I believe some went from Maine To Virginia. look up Wooster Wreath for that story
I am setting up a PGR ride from Tallahassee, FL to Deltona, Fl on Feb 25 for anyone that wants to go. Gen Moore (ret) and Joe Galloway will be doing a book signing. I ma going to have them sign a couple of books and to tell them thanks for thier service and their book. You know them, from "We We're Soldiers" both the book and the movie. Anyone that wants details, drop me a line!
I am a PGR member, anyone can join, you do not need to ride a bike. We appreciate the thanks, but just a reminder that is not about us. It is about honoring those that have and do serve. It is just the right thing to do, to show these families that America does care. God Bless those that have and do serve.
ive known about you guys for a long time. and im only 15 and a freshman. but when im out of high school and i serve my time in the marines you better believe im going to find you guys and when i do im joining with you right away. what you all do is a beautiful thing and people repsect and thank all of you beyond recognition and more than any of my words can descridbe. your all heroes in my book
I'm thankful that such sick things don't happen in my country. But I am twice as thankful that there are men and (presumably) women who would fight against these morons calling themselves Christian to keep the troops and their families in comfort in such sad times.
Real men also cry. These men are the DEFINITIONS of men and to see these men's eyes moisten like that really makes me understand their pain and plight the pride and patriotism the power and potential of mankind and humanity.

God bless the Patriot Guard Riders! The only sad thing is that our own Government isn't doing anything about Westboro.

these are GREAT PEOPLE! No matter what your politics is!
chargers2566 1 year ago 4
Chargers2566- You are correct, politics never enters into honoring our defenders. You don't have to agree with their efforts, only that they are over there doing a duty that all should share. These rides are double edged. 1-Our troops deserve no less than to be honored. 2- In all my rides, I find that my fellow riders & I still cloud up. And the smiles on the faces of the families are priceless. These events humble every one of us....a little bit more with every ride. God speed, my brothers.
RangerAlways 1 year ago
chargers2566- You are correct, politics has nothing to do with honoring those that do their duty.

I'm proud of them, my fellow riders and those we reluctantly ride for.

you are truly a Hero :)
LittoMoonLight 2 years ago

I am a member of the 1st armored div. and thank you all from the bottom of my heart for taking care of us and being there when our families are in need of help
wildmustang00 1 year ago

If you truly love your country, not necessarily the government, and consider yourself a patriot you will be welcomed by the Patriot Guard. It will cost you your time, nothing else. The payoff is love, respect, honor, and going home knowing you eased the pain of a soldiers family.

The PGR are an example of selfless dedication and compassion that we don't see enough of during these troubled times. Let's hope that thru their example people who view those who ride as the stereotypical outlaw criminal will realize that under all that leather and denim are real human beings with hearts as big as the country they revel riding in.

That's great. I love these guys to death!

Anyone that wants details, drop me a line!
weathermanfsu 3 years ago 4
