  • jeremy???

  • What's that? Another gear up landing by Charleston? You don't say...hahaha

  • @STV1t0 Who is Charleston?

  • @TheCentralServices It's a C-17 base in South Carolina.

  • @STV1t0 And he landing no gear in Afghanistan?

  • @hungryle. If we did not have private firearms in our homes from the beginning of our country we would not have a country. Would you live In a land of hungry wolves and walk about every day empty handed?. I chose to have weapons to protect myself and those I care for. And no I will not accidentally kill someone as I have had training. In fact I have had to produce a weapon to get a four gang member types to leave my home that were clearly going to do me harm. The police were nowhere to be seen.

  • You dummy Americans....

  • Comment removed

  • @hungryle i dont know but what did amerians do to u?

    think befor u speak

  • @mrgeorgemacho i dont said that ameraicans are evil, so theres no question what they did. Just mean dummy for your war against "the evil", all the privat guns in der Houses, the poor People in the slums without any help from the state; the gangs; the gay-hating- organistaions; the Bush-goverment and his massive Destruktion in own country aaaaaaaaaaaand this Zombie-blind- patriotism-Actors here^^ Sorry man, im from Europe. here we are some peacefully

  • @hungryle well America does has its things but it doesnt mean it a bad country

i live in europe aswell in holland but also in europe theres shit everywhere in the whole damn world theres shit everywhere.. hmm i want Marihuana ^^ but like i said the world is fucked so u better of saying dummy people:)

  • @hungryle Not much for learning history are you? Find someone who is 80 yrs old and ask them how peaceful Europe was only a few decades ago.

  • Same thing happened while I was at Bagram in 05-06. (maybe it was the same incident) What I heard was that the Marines had been practicing aircraft carrier landings with the A6's and forgot to take the catch line down. So the C-17 hit the catch line and collapsed the front landing gear.

  • Office weenie news report. Cut their budget. Why did this aircraft land with gear up? Was it a gear extension failure or did they simply forget to run before landing checklist?

  • Seriously Adam Eggers.. As you call yourself. I seriously think your 2 braincells from being legally Weetodded! Her name is Jaime, NOT "Jeremy!" Idiots.. no matter where I turn. What has become of this nation?

  • Forgot to extend the gear. It has happened many times on C141 and c5. I know from experience. Landing gear doesnt collapse.

  • Nice girl! nice!!!

  • Weak as fuck. Did you see that deadbeat give a fuck about that flying city?

  • @JesusPaid4You Jesus was a cross dresser.

  • why does the news team have to be inform? It makes them look so unprofessional.

  • what a crock of shite..where is the crash...??? here's a tip...if you are going to chose the title of your video as having the phrase "c17 CRASH"...then at least have the decency to show the freakin crash

  • Оооо, американские пилоты ошибаются? Не верю, они же лучшие пилоты. Это же русские всегда пьяные, а американцы нет, они лучшие....

  • hah!

    i remember that.

the stories floating around were "didn't activate landing gear, landing gear inop and hard landing".

    we'll never hear the truth.

    that's the way it goes.

that shit clogged up flights for awhile.

  • @tapper45 Let's see, didn't activate landing gear would cause alot more damage, Landing gear inop when they have a manual pull handle to drop them separately, and a hard landing that collapsed all 4 main landing gears and nose LG? Yeah right, what the living hell happened?

  • @tienshenhan86

    they aren't MY excuses.

    they're RUMORS.

i wasn't ONBOARD when it happened, i was getting my flight line badge renewed.

did ANY part of my post lead you to believe that i had the answer?

if it did, you need help with your reading comprehension.

in case you weren't aware, when 1 gear fails the other gear are subject to a lot more stress and usually fail as well.

and when the gear dep INOP LIGHT doesn't work you won't know the gear didn't deploy.

  • @tapper45 At ease, I was directing that towards officials, not you. Every gear has it's own light indication, and every light ind. has 4 individual peanut bulbs, so for that many lights to go out, AND Bitchin Betty (the automated voice) to not beep and say"too low gear" is unlikely. Maybe 2 gears failed and a hard landing which caused this. As a crew chief, I am just very curious, and you were the only one with suggestions, I was just running through scenarios with you.

  • @tienshenhan86

    yeah, at ease yourself.

    they'll never tell the truth.

i wouldn't be surprised if the log books magically disappeared just long enough for them to look "right" after the incident.

the gear would have had to fail, the inop ind would have had to fail and the audible would have had to fail for the 1st and 2nd to not know.

if they did get an ind, then the manual dep would have had to fail.

they drop like rocks onto that final though (sop) because of the perceived aa threat

  • @tapper45 Farther down the comment someone said they disabled the warning, so they must have pulled the CB and killed the audible warnings which can get annoying during flight, being that they are military pilots in such an area it is obviously a big mistake to do that, and the outcome was so. Peace in the middle east.

  • @tienshenhan86

    that is very likely.

we disable lots of things and when the shit hits the fan it usually gets covered up and somebody gets promoted for their quick thinking and smart actions during the high stress situation that they created themselves.

i've seen it firsthand more than a couple times.

  • Bagrams the old soviet airbase right?

  • @blackhawkwm yeah

  • that sucked my mail was on that and i didnt get it for a week after that for some reason

  • Don't care, she's hot.

  • the official crashreport states:they forgot to lower the landinggear and...shut down the alarm telling them they had not lowered the landinggear of their landing aircraft.

that's a big PILOT ERROR me think!

  • Shitty jets compared to mcchord :)

  • Of course its a charleston jet......

  • @bradh08 Whats that supposed to mean?

  • Made a hard landing my ass flight crew turned off the warning system and he landed with the gear up.

  • dont need engineers any more 90 plus percent of commercial airliners dont have FE's either

  • bah! stupid americans and their democracy-spreading lies!

  • @Anthraxboy501 democracy is good, fucking commie asshoe

  • I was at the Bagram Air Base when this happened early last year. This was 1 of several mishaps that happened in Afghanistan while I was there for 18 months.

  • Heavens Sakes! I wasn't aware there is no Flight Engineer aboard the C-17. I suppose I'm old school, and believe in the worth of FEs! Since Washington is throwing around TRILLIONS wily-nilly, why not place a third seat up front!

  • @ThatMiserableCat Theres 4 seats up front... Of all the c-17s we have, theres only been 2 times a crash happened, both pilot error, 90% percent of the time overseas, theres a Flying Crew Chief onboard anyway... Most of them know there shit....

  • the FE would have zero to do in a C-17. The EICAS system is desigb to display all engine and systems that are required. An engineer would get in the way. Just as there is no navigator on these aircraft

  • @tongandennis--

Read you. I do understand the aircraft of today are built as 2-upfront birds. I merely stated that as an old school pilot, I can appreciate an FE on board. They don't hurt, and they've been a help to many in the past .

Hope Obama gets the worth of this remarkable aircraft, and keeps the production line open, if only to procure 2 or so aricraft per month.

Everyone out there--! Tell Washington to keep the F22 Raptor line going! If we lose air superiority, we're doomed.

  • Al they had to do was get the bottle- jack

out of the glove box ese!!

    JD

  • If only they had a person on there that was a systems expert and responsible for checklist completion, you could call him something like a FLIGHT ENGINEER, good job designing the engineer out of that thing

  • The only people that complain about FEs not on the C17s are FEs out of jobs, the C130J Models are the same no FEs,get with the times spadeng1.

  • We are still waiting on 96000002 to come back from Long Beach. I remember when she came back, had like 3 different paint jobs and you could clearly see the damages that was done during the belly landing

  • I work with a Boeing Engineer who dealt with this. The crew pulled the GPWS Circuit Breaker, then forgot to drop the gear. When they got on the ground, they put the handle in down, but left the c/b open. When it got in the air with the bags, the gear worked as advertised.

'R2 Stick Actuator, Ops Check Good'!

  • I seen 6002 come back through Charleston on it's way to Long Beach. It looked like complete hell. They had to fly with the gear down the whole way, under 10,000ft. Lotta refuels.

  • @nauticstar87 this thing flew over my house and i got a glimps of it riding my bike looked like someone went to town with a grinder on the underside of the fusealage

  • @nauticstar87 But she still flew! What an awesome A/C. I'm proud to have taken park in her build.

  • @aviatormxpilot That's awesome that you got to take part. I heard through the "grapevine" that it was a crew error. Not sure how true it is considering that it is "hear say."

  • @SergeantZippo I heard the same rumers. I did get to see photos of it moments after the accident. BTW, when I wrote, "take part in her build", I ment to say, her build in the C-17 production line in Long Beach. As in brand new $200+ million Aircraft.

  • @aviatormxpilot Hey that is just as cool. I know it is a long process, but once a new one rolls off of the production line, it is a proud moment looking at the finished product and knowing that you were part of the whole process.

  • Respond to this video... Yeah, I never get tired of it. 25 years total. 10 years building the DC-9 (MD-80 series), DC-10 (MD-11) and for the last 15 years the C-17.

  • damm why mess up a good plane use to fix it.

  • Comment removed

  • I was at Pease SAC base the night some kid flying a KC-97 tanker made a perfect landing right down the yellow line ...and forgot to deploy the landing gear.

Small fire in APU only , easily put out by MSgt. Glovers firemen.

  • Yikes!!

  • Also, crew get off the plane and report to medical immeadiately to piss test

  • So.....Jamie is actually Jeremy is she? lol

  • @damaged01 I just found this video and that's exactly what I said

  • Actually they pulled the breaker for the Ground Proximity Warning System and didn't follow the landing checklists. Also the tower never called out "check gear down" at 300 feet like they should have.

  • Hmmm... sounds like you were there... Were you in the cockpit? Wait... Were you the idiot that didn't put the gear down? LOL - Just kidding

Seriously, why would they have pulled that breaker?

  • this crash delayed a vital delivery to me when i was deployed at the time.

  • female reborter is fucking HOTTTTTTTTTTTT

    I WANNT HER.....YUMMMMMMMMY

  • I loaded the cargo in charleston to fix that aircraft.

  • Wow, I was stationed at Charleston AFB for 4 years and my buddy told me what happened. I didnt just work on this jet...I was the Dedicated Crew Chief on 96000002...the one in the vid...I know for a fact that the gear worked properly when I left...lol. Just sucks that the idiots crashed my plane:( Hope they can get her back in the air again!

  • I was here to see this pretty funny if you ask me, they used air bags to jack it up in the har to lower the landing gear haha

  • what happened to the sports report?

  • smooooooooooooooooooooooooth

a gear up in a c17 big oops.

  • apparently the word in the aviation world is that the crew never selected gear down
