  • lovely unit, was that a Chiltern driver at the controles, or a Didcot railway volunteer?

  • I think that train sounds more quieter compare to other Turbostars who dont have MTU engines fitted beneath the train. This train is the newest and quietest turbostar to be used on the Chiltern Mainline.

  • Its not a turbostar...

  • @class313 Yes it is but some Turbostars like this one have been fitted with brand new Diesel MTU Engines to reduce the noise of the engine.

  • @andyncfcgetshypedup I stand corrected, thought it wasn't, apologies

  • @class313 no problem

  • Certainly look good

  • @howarth004 yep :)

  • Wish I knew this was happening

  • @bronzeonion ah its been on the DRC site for a few week now....

  • I didn't see the 121!

  • @MrGriser ah it was on the branchline round the back

  • little kids they our so sweet "Its going really fast daddy, Daddy our we gettin off it!"

  • @Buttercupline2 oh yes!

  • @zaccee1996 All 4-chiltern units are in service now

  • How gay I was there on Saturday and no 172 running but when I am not there its let lose! But I did get to go inside it tho.

  • @HSTCalvin well I have a different opinion.

  • I CABBED THAT =D Lol

  • @HitchinTrains same :P

  • @HSTCalvin I know the 170 was much better design but the 172 is just bits of stuff mangled together which makes it a horrid train!

  • think i'll take a trip in here tomz :D
