  • I'm a Greek and I have nothing against Persia or Persians.I believe that both Greece and Iran should be friends and we both have respect for each other's cultures!

  • Long Live Persia and Greece...

  • Arabs defeated the Persians in many wars and made the Persians fleeing to the mountains, hiding in fear of the truth in the stories of the Persians cowards history and the Persians are drowning in ignorance and religious superstition until the Arabs came to them and teaching them who God is

  • @Adoooolah the only reason the

Arabs took over Persia was because they were economically and numerically weakened by fighting with the Byzantian empire. The Persian armies were split apart by the war and were not united. And the Persians had a monothestic religon WAY before they was even a such thing as Islam. That religon preached good thoughts, good words and good deeds Not stoning women and treating them like shit. So thank you for bringing such a religon for us Persians to enjoy.

  • sparta is the best

  • the best-trained soldiers of history ! THIS IS SPARTA !!!!

  • @ Sarris12 Considering you just deleted my comment it means I'm quite right and quite educated (thank you for the "compliment"), and I don't care about your balkan bickering, it says clearly on my channel from what country I am.

  • @Kamadeva01 considering you cant even see your comment and assume that i deleted it i m more than sure that ur stupid and uneducated..not that i wasnt before

anyways bring ur friends to comment too advertise the video and get lost, ur opinion really doeasnt matter nor the country that ur from

  • yooo this video is dope

  • I'm Greek and I want nothing to do with Iranians. The French cleared Greece of middle eastern people that was trying to force their human rights on Greeks, during the Greek war of independence. Its a insult to think that middle eastern people are civil. They still have rulers and no democracy.

  • both nations i mean greek and the iraninans have a briliant culture and they both are like brothers to eachother!!!

  • LOOL YH RIGHT A BLONDE BLUE EYED GREEK...HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • Comment removed

  • Persia wrote first human rights--After this came the evil Romans who killed 100,000,000 people in their bloody reign of 450 years--fact.

  • If the Persians had won, cultural practices like: no slavery, social equality among men and women, and RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE might have been allowed to pervail. Both Persian and Greek culture had many wonderful qualities; it was not good against bad.

  • @Fencie87 your statement is bullshit because: 1. the greeks had slaves(of other ethnicities usually, and the spartans had greek slaves), 2. there was no equality between men and women...in Athens, the "cradle" of democracy women didn't even have the right to go outside without the man's(father/husband) permission, let alone vote...they were baby makers and house dwellers, 3. religious tolerance? are you kidding me? the athenians were intolerant of religion and dubbed the most godless of greeks

  • @Kamadeva01 If you read my statement more carefully, you'll see that I was simply stating that those societal practices (free workers, religious tolerance, et al.) were qualities of PERSIAN not GREEK society. This video seems to portray the Greeks as the good guys and I wanted to say that it was not that black and white. My comment was also intended to imply that democracy did not automatically make the Greeks a better culture; though that does seem to be the message in American schools.

  • @Kamadeva01 the Hellenes were so open-minded that they even had statues for unknown Gods, under one of them Paul sat and started preaching about Christ.

You're insignificant and uneducated, i bet you're a Matsedutski but even if you're not your opinion doesnt matter..cheers

  • @Kamadeva01 ur statment is bullshit! u say that greek civilization was nothing! im expecting from u to tell me what anciet country knew mathematics physics medical astronomy theatre drama comedy satir philosofy democracy olympic games architecture.... etc.....etc,,, no one else exept persians that knew algebra! if u are not greek, comparing ancient greek civilization with ur ancient ''civilization'' u were a homo sapiens that lived in caves and eating bananas on trees with monkeys

  • @Fencie87 nothing is ever good vs bad. So this is always true. That aside, i definitely agree.

  • @Fencie87 excellent point

  • i thought that alexander was a slav not a greek and was driving zastava instead of horses ,SPARTA IS GREECE,ATHINA IS GREECE ,MACEDONIA IS GREECE,FYROM=MONKEYDONIANS

  • @cobone1

    The History Channel,,Discovery Channel,National Geographics,,Ect,etc,,are all wrong??

No,its just that can't find any of there docu. about the Persian and Greco wars except for this clip.

I have some videos from the BBC they are from the British Museum.

    much thanks.

Not all Historians are patriotic as you say.

I know, i was actually referring to this particular vid.

  • @cobone1 Yes, i know the info is on the internet and YT, but i am asking if there are any real documentary’s about the Persian and Greco wars, i mean come on we have the history channel, discovery ch, national geograph and other, and to say that there aren't any real documentary's about this is very unusual.

P.S:By "real" i mean unbiased based on facts with real historians and not mixed-up with patriotic BS.

  • @cobone1 I wanted to mention all contradictions and stupid things that you have said in your posts, but it's such a waste of time to discuss with you. Enjoy your life with your ignorance :)

  • @cobone1 I'm talking about "The Canon of Medicine" written by Avicenna. As I said before, I appreciate all nations' contributions in human civilization, specially Greeks' contributions. However, people like you who have this illusion that Greece is the center of the world and all good things in today's world come from Greece are blind.

  • @cobone1 I answered you why you cannot claim democracy would have died if something else had happened 2300 years ago. I advise you to read it again. In general, it is so lame to say certainly how the wold would be if something else had happened 2300 years ago. Most probably the world wouldn't be like this, but are you sure it would be worse? Why don't you think it could be better? Because nobody could be better than you? It's so silly to be certain what would have happened after 2300 years!

  • @cobone1 No doubt that people like to live in more developed societies because of their higher living standards. It's always been like this, and it'll be like this forever. However, it still doesn't partition the world to East vs West. If you divided countries to democratic and dictatorship, I would agree with you. But, dividing people geographically, or based on their race and ethnicity, is a kind of racism!

  • @cobone1 I never belittled Greek civilization, or any other civilization! I guess you are confusing me with other people. You are absolutely right that saying the world would be a better place without the US is naive; however, it is just as naive as saying democracy would have been destroyed if Persians had conquered Greeks some 2300 years ago!

  • @famemonster1993 Btw greeks did not kill Christ where did you get that one?

  • @cobone1 ..........I absolutely appreciate and admire the US and other developed countries for their modern achievements an advances; however, I cannot stand it when they stupidly overwhelm others. I hope you will read all my comments below!

  • @cobone1 ..........They should be just assholes and fucked up people to do this. I don't want to say Persians or middle easterns are superior to others, as I'm not a racist person like you. I just want to say dividing the world to east and west is so naive, stupid and insane. It makes people to forget their similarities, their common things, and their interaction that they had and still have, and it increases the hatred between people which leads to meaningless conflicts...........

  • @cobone1 .....Don't you think you should consider interactions between all nations and their impacts on each other in the history? Do you know anything about Persians influence on Greeks? Do you know anything about middle easterns contributions to science and culture when other people were drinking each others blood and living in their stone-aged societies? Do you know Persian medicine books were taught in Europe for 600 years? And now those Europeans are overwhelming Persians?..........

  • @cobone1 .....You said "Iran or any OTHER Arab" which clearly shows you have no fucking idea what is the difference between Iran and Arab countries. I don't expect you to know that, but I expect you to shut your mouth up when you don't know anything about others. Also, you are dividing the world to east and west, and then comparing their civilizations, and concluding that easterns are idiots, westerns are prominent...........

  • @cobone1 Iranians don't have freedom in Iran today, but your mind and thoughts are manipulated and misled in a free country, though I don't know where you live. Do you rally think there is such a rigid border between nations? You have no idea what you are saying, you are just imitating some asshole people who want to manipulate masses. First of all, in the eastern part of the world, different nations have very different ways of life and customs...........

  • @cobone1 .....Although this is beyond the scope of our discussion, you should again read history, contemporary history this time, before opening your mouth. Moreover, did I say Iran has human rights today? I said the first declaration of human rights was in Persia. Its charter which was written in 500 B.C. is in the British Museum if you want to get sure. I meant as human rights didn't die in spite of all incidents in Persia, democracy wouldn't die in Greece either.

  • @cobone1 .....Just because you don't like Persians today because of the propaganda in media?! You said Iran doesn't have democracy today. You're right, but did other nations have democracy in all the history? After ancient Athens, democracy reemerged in the 18th century. Did anybody have democracy from 100 B.C. till 18th century? Also, one of the most important reasons Iran doesn't have democracy today is that the US crushed Iran's democracy in 1953 by a coup and put a pro US dictator there.....

  • @cobone1 I didn't say democracy would have been invented somewhere else, I said it wouldn't die, because Persians wouldn't force Greeks to change their way of life. You don't believe it? Read history! Persian Achaemenid Empire is famous to be tolerant and giving different states in their empire freedom to practice their own customs. Moreover, Greeks were defeated by other people in the history, but their democracy didn't die. Why do you think it would die if Greeks were defeated by Persians?....

  • @famemonster1993 You are so wrong! You may say political systems in the US and other developed countries are not perfect and ideal democratic systems, but it's definitely much more democratic and better than many other countries in the world. Specially from Iran whose government is a dictatorship pretending to be democratic!

  • @cobone1 You are totally wrong. First, all states conquered by Persians could have their own language, culture, rituals, religion, rules, and .... So, Greeks would be able to continue their own way. Also, weren't Greeks defeated by others later in the history? Why didn't anything happen to democracy? In addition, Alexander the Great conquered Persia, but did human rights get destroyed? I should remind you that the first declaration of human rights was in Persia, before Alexander the Great.

  • @famemonster1993 These things you are saying are foolish and stupid. If you want to defend yourself, you should just tell the truth, unbiased. Insulting and degrading others does not mean your are great, it just means you are ignorant and blind. To answer false arguments, you shouldn't make false arguments either.

  • @famemonster1993 by writing such things my friend u made yourself seem fool....

the greeks were a whole lot more than just historians.....philosophy,maths,medicine,physics,astronomy and a lot more where first studied by the greeks......the roman empire was based on greek culture....

  • really guys???? u saw this video and all u do is dissin each others history????

no one denies the contributions of these nations and their greatness....

ur a bunch of idiots if ur arguing about whose dick is bigger......

  • @famemonster1993 i didnt asked you to teach anything i asked you from which country you are. now "everybody knows bla bla" thats a great argument for 10 year olds. have a nice day.

  • @parmenion96 You are just being as ignorant and foolish and stubborn as "famemonster1993". If you want to say Persia doesn't exist anymore because what was Persia 2000 years ago is divided to different countries now, it is exactly the same about Romans and other empires as well. If you want to see who are Persians now, just search Persia or Persian and you can easily find the relation between Iran and Persia. If you are saying these things just because you don't like a group of people ......

  • @parmenion96 ..... or you consider yourself superior to others, you have serious mental and personal problems. For your information, Iran was called Persia officially till 1935 when Iran asked the world to call them Iran, which means land of Aryans in Persian, and is how Iranians and Persians always referred to themselves in the history. Persia is the Greek pronunciation of Pars (or Fars) which was always a part of the Persian empire and is a province in the middle of Iran today........

  • @parmenion96 ..... From your argument that Persians never freed Jews it seems that you don't hesitate to talk on things about which you don't have any knowledge. I seriously suggest you read and learn more about something before claiming anything about it.

  • @famemonster1993 first you say greeks lost and got a persian provence now you say the greek got kicked out by you (plural)? Who is you? the persian? the iranians? the iraquis? who? well neither one they didnt got kicked out. Listen you can tell stories to some uneducated people or in your country. The media doesnt hide any truth cause for the truth are books around not the media, also stop pretending you are a medes. they are dead you are in the best chance an arab. what country are u?

  • @parmenion96 Moreover, why do you say "you are in the best chance an arab" to a person whom you don't know at all? I guess the person with whom you were arguing is from Iran. If you say Iranians are Arab, you don't know shit about Persian, Iranians, and Arabs. Please, learn more before claiming something Mr. Educated.

  • @arashi43273 Mr Educated first i asked something specific 2nd are you his layer? 3rd what kind of arguments are "everybody know" and "Overall Greek sucks and Persia rules". This "استقلال. آزادی. جمهوری اسلامی" is iranian and google for old persian. CApitol of iran is tehran. the Arabs call it tehran in persian times the plcae was called Ray. while i.e. Rom remained Rom, Athens remained Athens etc.

  • @parmenion96 your question: Because he could be Azeri, Kurd, Arab, Baluch, Armenian, Bakhtiari, Assyrian, Talysh to name a few. Also i wanna know what kind of persian he is? parthian? greek? egyptian? Indian? Assyrian? Skithian?Jew? to name a few. ca 400 year of greek rule than roman provence for a long time and splitting into manny parts mixing with tons of other people make it inpossible for him to be historicaly persian i understand that for political raisons they claim to be persians.

  • @parmenion96 If you read my comment on "famemonster1993" post, you could see I'm not defending him. Are you saying because Iranians are using Arabic script, thier language is Arabic not Persian? It is one of the lamest arguments one could say. Do you want to say British people don't speak English because they are using Latin alphabet? Or, do you want to say Japanese are not speak Japanese because they use Chinese script? .....

  • @parmenion96 ..... Or many other nations are not speaking their own languages because they use a different script? I searched for "Old Persian" on Google and did not find anything which approves your claims. Please, send me some links if you have any. If you want to know about the capital cities, you should read history more. Then, you will find out why Persia had different capital cities in different periods and you will find out that all those capital cities are located in Iran today. .....

  • @parmenion96 ..... Again, for your information, Tehran is not an Arabic word, it is completely Persian, and that place, which was a small village, had been called Tehran much before any Arab came there. Ray is a different city, located in the south of Tehran. Now, Tehran and Ray are kind of connected to each other because Tehran expanded too much. All capital cities of Persia still have their own names. ......

  • @parmenion96 ..... You said:"He could be Azeri, Kurd, Arab, Baluch, Armenian, Bakhtiari, Assyrian, Talysh to name a few", again, I advise you to learn more. For example, about Azeris who speak a dialect of Turkish which is completely different from Persian, you should read articles from history, archeology, and linguistic to know that the old Azeri language was Pahlavi Persian, and to know why the language of people in that region changed, ......

  • @parmenion96 ..... do the people changed there or their language changed in a process?! Even the word "Azeri" itself is a Persian word. You say Iranians are mixed with others, so they are not Persian! I totally agree with you that they are mixed with others, exactly similar to all other nations which are mixed with others. Can you please name just one nation which is not mixed with any other nations? .......

  • @parmenion96 ..... If Persians are mixed with Greeks in Iran, Greeks are mixed with Persian in Greece as well since many Persians went to Greece as many Greeks came to Persia. If Iranians wanted to prove they are Persian, they wouldn't change the name of their country from Persia to Iran. My friend, your mind is full of hatred, what you say is totally against any scientific evidence. Instead of trying to picture the world as you want, you should try to reduce your hatred.

  • @arashi43273 now you want to talk about greeks in greece? the topic was persians and iranians. My mind is not full of hatred you are mistaken. I think you are out of any arguments therefor you bring now this "you are full of hatred" crap. Try to argue to what i said.

  • @parmenion96 Not only about Greeks, but about all nations in the world. Only racist people claim their race is not mixed with others, which is totally wrong based on scientific evidences. Now, the point is that, if you say we don't have any Persian today because they are mixed with others, the same is about any other nation in the world, then we don't have any Greek, Egyptian, Chinese, Japanese, Romans, Russians, and so on.

  • @arashi43273 i almost agree with you, al are mixed the thing is that some are more mixed than the other and some kept some of their old culture and language. A greek can still read (old) greek can you read persian?

  • @parmenion96 You are right, Greeks are still using their old alphabets, Persian are not, they have been using Arabic alphabets since Islam came to Persia. But, does your script determine who you are? What about the actual language that they speak, their culture, customs, traditional rituals, and other things which connect people to their heritage? I'm not trying to say Persians are peculiar, I just think it is not wise to overwhelm anything related to others whom you are considering stranger.

  • @arashi43273 islam came to a many parts of the world same way christianity came to greece and that long time ago but all what you mention ( language, culture etc) yes they still exist. for example check the "sera" dance here on youtube. The language is the strongest connection to the past as are the names of the greeks, Alexandros, Leonidas, Pinelopi Afroditi etc still used on a large scale. What else you want to compare?

  • @parmenion96 You are certainly right about Greece, I never said Greeks don't have these connections with their heritage. What I said was all about Persians. I meant in spite of using Arabic alphabets, the main part of their language (the actual spoken language not script), culture, customs, their names, and so on come from ancient Persia which shows their connection to their heritage. I never wanted overwhelm Greeks or others, I just wanted to defend Persians of being overwhelmed.

  • @arashi43273 are any peole called Xerxes, Artaxerxes, darius nowaays in Iran? Well if we read all post we typed it doesnt look like you defend anything its about me claiming that iran is not persia and you the oposite. Now tell me why exactly should iran be persia and iraq or kuwait or Jordania or maybe Israel?

  • @parmenion96 * " and not Iraq...."

  • @parmenion96 Yes, of course many people in Iran have those names today, Khashayar, Ardeshir, and Dariush! What you wrote are Greek pronunciations of Persian names. Persians have been using these names since ancient time, and still they are using them. Just check wikipedia if you want to make sure. You claim Iran and Persia are different? That's so lame. Just search it on the Internet, and give me just one credible link to support your claim! Just take a look at the right column in this page!

  • @parmenion96 why Iran is Persia? Because Persians have always been living there! Because it was called Persia till 1935, when Iran asked the world to call it Iran for some reason (search on the Internet). Before 1979, Islamic revolution, both Persia and Iran were official names. Your claim is totally lame and ridiculous! Being Persian doesn't give any superiority to Iranians, it is just a fact! and you should be so ignorant to deny it! Read more, learn more! It seems you have no idea about it!!!

  • @arashi43273 and greeks were living in nowadays syria so is syria greek? Take a break before you call me any names i ask you again why iran and not iraq? why iran and not Jordania? why iran and not Kuwait?

Read my above postings there is no point to write evrything twice for you mr arab.

  • @parmenion96 I can't stop laughing! you are such a stupid and ignorant asshole! Just read our posts one more time, I have answered all your arguments, but you are so stubborn and asshole that you don't want to accept the truth, an obvious facet! Are you seriously saying Iranians are Arab? There's not any problem with being Arab, but it shows you don't know shit about what you are saying! I have Greek friends, I admire Greeks, but every society has illiterate people like you! JUST READ AND LEARN!

  • @parmenion96 You are such an ignorant person that you are even denying Iranians are using ancients Persian names! I can find for you how many thousand Iranians have those names now! The point is that you are easily denying an obvious thing in this world, the thing that thousand people are using these names today! It just shows you open your fucking mouth and say whatever you want without knowing shit about it.It means you are an asshole. GO READ ASSHOLE, LEARN MORE ASSHOLE, THEN OPEN YOUR MOUTH!

  • @arashi43273 i ask you again why iran and not iraq? why iran and not Jordania? why iran and not Kuwait?

  • @parmenion96 Not Iraq because Babylonians were there! Not Jordan because Semitic people were are are there! Not Kuwait because Arabs were and are there! Persians, people who came from today Iran, conquered Babylonians in Iraq, and different tribes in today Jordan, Kuwait and other countries, and ruled on them, and gave them freedom to practice their own customs, language and religion! Do you understand now why those countries are not called Persia? Like the British ruled on India and....

  • @parmenion96 Because today Iranians are descendents of Indo-Europeans who immigrated to that land in the second millinnium B.C. and were called Persians later. They settled exactly what is called Iran today plus some parts of neighboring countries. People who lived in today Iran formed and founded different Persian Empires.People who lived in the land which is called Iran today have been called Persian since 2500 years ago continuously. I don't know why some people like you want to deny it!

  • @parmenion96 And I ask you again, go learn, these things that I'm telling you can be found in any basic history book and any usual website about these things. Just bother yourself and search on the Internet! You can find thousands links on the Internet about relation between Iran and Persia, not from Iranians, from other people from any nation. It's so obvious that people consider them equivalent by default and even don't try to prove it. They mention Iran/Persia, Iranian/ Persian. You are blind!

  • @parmenion96 And again, I have answered all your arguments. This time, before opening your mouth, read previous posts if you don't remember them, and make sure you can't learn them by a simple search on Google! Otherwise, don't waste my time with your illiterate comments!

  • @famemonster1993 Also greeks are christians they didnt hunt christians maybe you mix that with the romans. cheers.

Also about greek and persian empires just google alexander the great. If you ask me persian got their asses beaten manny times by the greeksm my favorite part is the battle of plateae.

So overal persians died out while greeks still exist.

  • @famemonster1993 lol. First of "the greeks" as the greeks who lived in greece never became a persian provence. period. now it looks like you dont read books now what you call slaves that has been used in persia and later on in rom. Athens for example didnt had slaves they had workers. Slave= sklavoi, worker=douloi now try again in any script of the time to find the word "slave". Oh yeah the spartans had slaves. but we were talking about the persians, and they had slaves just google it.

  • fuck my fuck u fuck usa, fuck greek, fuck, persian, fuck turkey, fuckarab and fuck u all ..........long live kurdistan............

  • American bullshit, these people are not historians, they love talking about “democracy” while they don’t know anything about it. Speculations, what if…...if the persians had won? who knows what would have happened? The Persians freed the jews from slavery while slavery was common among the greeks. Do they mention the Cyrus cylinder?

  • @methaphaze lol the persians did not freed any jews. the whole midle east near east etc was ruled by persia. Now as to what if the persians would have won? clear no democracy for us today. open a book bro

  • @parmenion96 lol! You are the one who should open a book bro! The Persians did not free any Jews? No historian has any doubt in it bro. It is written in any history book about that period. The Persian conquered Babylonians and freed Jews. Then, Jews were free to live wherever they wanted in that wast empire. And, yes, who knows how the world would be if the Persian conquered? The world today might be much better, much worse, or similar.

  • @methaphaze no one denies the greatness of the Persians or the contribution of Cyrus to western civilization as a whole..however the aim of this video is not to insult the Persians by any means..read the description

  • @Sarris12

Americans have rather a biased view regarding history. They present Greece as being a "Rampart" ageist the barbarians. I travel a lot to Greece and part of my family is Greek. There's more shared culture and history between Iranians and Greeks than between the French and the Greeks, but this is a personal view, and I am not talking about the food. I think that all of us owe a lot to these two great civilizations and what is going on right now is really saddening!

  • @methaphaze bravo from Greece

  • @Sarris12

  • @methaphaze FUCK YOU!

  • @methaphaze You wouldn’t happen to know where i can find some real documentary’s about the Greco-Persian Wars, would you?

  • @alfa8

I think nothing can match a real book. Osprey editions provide a nice set of documentations. I also advise a trip both to Greece and Iran. Cap Sunio, Athens, Deplhi and all the islands are simply amazing.

  • In Sparta, every man is held accountable for the words of his mouth...even a messanger..

  • yes then the romans took over and they had democratic traditions also

  • what series does this belong to?

  • BULLSHIT!!

  • I have to say that even if Persia had conquered Greece, it WOULD NOT have been the end of democracy!! It was Persian tradition of rule to allow the people they conquered to govern themselves in their own tradition. As long as they payed their dues to Persia they could have gone on in their democratic traditions.

  • @JTheTeach , exactly, i completley agree with you, even the ionians under persian rule were not under harsh rule

  • im just watching it for a good grade:)...A+

  • @bubu1153 I did that when I was in secondary school too! Try searching for some longer documentaries online. There are lots of great in-depth ones about Greek History.

  • Make clips like this one as much as you can, but you can't change the history...

History Channel is just a business-channel... for fools its good enough of course,

but if you really want the truth read historical books from different views, else write history for yourself and be happy!

  • Bow to the glory of Greece pathetic creatures...

  • wait the guy said if persia was to win, then democracy would have ended...WHAT???? hey bald guy....listen up. iran did beat the spartan, then persians invaded athens burnt it to the ground and burnt the acropolis. read history for gods sake, the spartans were helped by 7000 athenians at thermoplia. they only put up a good fight. then they all died. that why when alexander invaded persia he burnt persepolis for revenge because persians burnt acropolis . come on now.

  • @IRANisPERSIA1 they took thermopyles but last the war at the Plataies.maybe you should read some books.....

  • @IRANisPERSIA1 yes they burned athens but the persians lost the battle of salamis and platea thats why they could not conquer greece.

  • History is written by the victors, different views of "democracy" from Europe and Persia. Alexander was described as "The Great" by European Historeans but the man could have easily been portrayed as a Tyrant or a power hungry savage.

Do you see where im going with this? In these times, no one will truely know which side stood for justice and equality for all.

  • Past is past but this video is full of so much nonsense that makes one to throw up! Just remember that the whole world suffered at least two big wars because of civilized Europeans! It seems the bad habits do not die easily.

  • What a convenient justification of barbaric acts for destroying a civilization which predated any European so called "city states" by a bunch of barbaric looters whose mission was not to help their own people but to destroy other people's achievements. This is the foundation of history of Europe which continued with centuries of barbarism even after they stole all cultural creations of Mesopotamia and Great Persian Empire. So much for start of democracy!

  • w0w some fyromonkeys should really see this!!!

  • Pathetic - we human beings are still not able to get away from parochial view point. 2500 years on and still, we view the history in terms of us vs them attitude.

  • fire4u369 is Persian nationalist

  • @maroom1

r u an expert of persian nationalism?! or rather, u r a Lebanese Nationalist too?! rofl !

the fact is actually varies between what this funny documentary says and what, they (oh sorry persian nationalists) say ! yeah !

  • COOL!!!

  • how amazing, this guy is a idiot

  • persains are the ones that made slavery illegal and had true democracy. mecedonian and greek didn't even have peace among themselves because they were sucha violent and greedy people. Alexander use to burn and destroy civilization. This guy doesn't k now what he is talking about.

  • @fire4u369

Well, that's "history" for you; not always chronologically accurate or completely truthful. Western civilization is not as perfect as they attempt to make it seem.

  • @fire4u369

Persians made slavery illegal? What are you smoking? Tell me oh wise one, exactly what kind of soldier was the Persian army composed of? Voluntary men or where they conscripts - oh, I do apologize, you might need a dictionary on that last one.

  • @nelsonmars I didn't know conscription = slavery.

  • It was all a matter of training, equipment and strategy...The Persians were poorly armed ,poorly trained and their generals were only relying to their cavalry in order to win...The Greeks were well armored, professional soldiers, they had the best generals and they used the phalanx formations which could melt the Persian cavalry away....

  • @memitsas317 Perhaps the non-Iranian troops under the Achaemenid banner were ill-trained, but the nucleus of the army, the Iranian troops (Persians, Medes, Sakas, Bactrians, ect.), were known for their bravery and skills in combat. They were the ones, under some of the greatest generals of the ancient world (Artaphernes, Mardonius, Datis, Harpagus, ect.), who conquered the known world from Macedonia to India, Egypt to Central Asia.

  • Thank you for putting this up! it will help me with my history report! ^_^

  • @Ghostpelt101 You need accurate things for your report, not this bullshit propaganda!

  • @arashi43273 Um... My comment is from 1 year ago.

  • @Ghostpelt101 I'm sorry for the hassle. I just think this video isn't a good reference. I admire Greeks' contributions to the world; however, these people are saying if Persians had conquered, nobody would have democracy today, and today's civilization would be worse than what it is. But, how do they know what would happen in a period of more than 2000 years? Based on which scientific and wise evidence are these people claiming such a thing? Just because they believe they are superior to others?

  • @Ghostpelt101 These people are dividing the world to two groups: them who are good people, and others who are bad. Romans and Greeks are from them because they are in Europe and close to them. So, all today's achievements are because of them. Persians are farther and from others, specially considering today's political atmosphere, so they are monsters and evil. So, they couldn't have any good impact. These people even don't consider that Persians were far more civilized than Greeks in that time.

  • @arashi43273 Like I said before. My comment is from a YEAR before and I don't need to do my project anymore. Obviously.

  • the persians lost, and one hundrend years later they were conquered by the greek king Alexander the great.

  • You BOTH LOST!...ROME WON!!!

  • @teamxxxsleep No Persia was not defeated. Huns won and Persia was succeeded by the Sassanid, Parthians, Safavids, Seljuks, Khwardzewdsoud and Timurids.

  • 2:29 that guy is IN DENIAL, PERSIANS WON GET OVER IT!!!!

  • your the one in denial... Greece beat Persia.

  • I hate Persians people

  • @Sallar21

The only people who deny that Greeks won the war is persian nationalist like yourself.

Show me JUST ONE historian (neutral historian, not persian nationalist like you) who agrees with what you said.

  • Very interesting video :)

  • exellent!!!
