@Jiibrael Particle physicists today are almost always related to astrophysics as well. A lot of phenomenon in both particle physics are related to that of astrophysics, and they each help understand the other better.
As far as Michio Kaku is concerned he is invited a lot for these talk shows due to his popularity and of-course he definitely understands these topics and is able to explain it in layman terms very well. He's sort of the face of the physics research community.

@arm721 Unless some major asteroid destroyed it, or its sun having exploded, taking it along with it --- since the light the astronomers are now examining here on earth LEFT its sun, about 600 years ago --- then, yes, chances are very high that the planet is still there.
Normally with very large, stable planetary systems that have existed for billions of years, like earth & this "earth twin," things don't go horribly wrong within 600 years.

This Interview is so awkward and painful to watch... Fucking dumb ass reporter. And now that they found keppler-22b which is more of earths twin. Its going to take 600 years for LIGHT to reach it. On top of that, if we were to travel at light, then we can bend time itself, so we wouldn't even need to travel there. wdf-.-. and gliese is actually relatively close. keppler-22b is 600 light years away as i said before where as gliese is only 20 light years away.
