How about basing ecumenism on the teachings of Jesus? Isn't this the true foundation of Christianity? Also the U.S. Constitution provides for religious freedom. Didn't Jesus say something about NOT uprooting the weeds growing among the good wheat? I see that Jesus Himself says specifically to let them both grow TOGETHER (v.30). and that HE HIMSELF will send the Angels to do the weeding.
