Well, for a long while, these are the kind of stuff they made. You can also see them credited for many episodes of Tiny Toons (some of which feature pretty obscure DC comics references) and Animaniacs (with characters like Minerva Mink foreshadowing his *many* later "sexy girl" characters like Harley Quinn and Jingle Belle). =p
Well it just shows you what a giant leap forward Ren & Stimpy and Spumco was. Everything comes from somewhere and it's interesting to see the beginnings. You have to remember John and his pals were working for DIC, the worst cartoon studio ever, to make this. After this show he, Bob Camp, Lynne Naylor and Jim Smith decided to start their own studio and what they did with Ren & Stimpy raised the bar for cartoons. Some of the stories they wrote for this cartoon later became Ren & Stimpy episodes.
I like the way Cecil sarcastically says 'sob'!

I'm surprised to see Paul Dini and Bruce Timm in the credits. I mean, this is about as far from the Batman cartoon as you can get.

They also had sound effect editor Russel Brower in the credits. He was sound editor for "Tiny Toons" and the first season of "Animaniacs"

I had a feeling that Dishonest John is voiced by Maurice LaMarche. Because he sounded like Principle Pixie Frog from MY GYM PARTNER'S A MONKEY.

@MattBL You're absolutely right! It's Maurice LaMarche!

Yeah the fingernail cutting part was totally Ren and Stimpy but that was the only gross out part.
