Actually the Chinese because of their new found wealth are embracing pet ownership as much or even more than North America, they have a lot of people with money now.
The forces within China are winning in the Dog & Cat area, I've seen some videos of really rich Chinese fighting the dog & cat meat trade, there are lots of Chinese that love their pets as much as we do.
It's Korea that's eating our friends like there is no tomorrow.
Wow. I didn't know this kind of crap still existed in korea. this is just...so sad...I mean..I feel like slaughtering ANY kind of animal overall is very sad... Like, did you know that you can name a rooster/chicken and when you call its name it'll come to you? but regardless of that fact, we still eat it? We Americans still eat it! Same with cows and pigs! I myself is a vegetarian, an exception of sea food such as fishes and squids... but like idk ... geeze.. idk what to say anymore
