Hi. Im an average 15 year old from Norway, and after watching several clips of MMA, I starting to think that this is the sport for me. I have NO training in other martial arts, so I am very new to MMA. You all think I should start or look for something else? just be honest.

no, ive been wrestling for years and have been training for quite some time now, the ammount of vasaline used would NEVER affect the fight. ever. period.
bj penn uses rubber guard and jabs, thats it. if you can stop that, and gas bj, you win. gsp is a smart fighter and knew how to beat him. he did it flawlessly, vasaline had nothing to do with it.

PLUS, the rubber guard sits above the shoulder blades around the neck, gsp's trainers never rubbed ANYTHING there, vasaline had NO factor in this fight whatsoever. Everyone is just jumping on the bandwagon because people are clueless.

Thanks for showing everyone how much you know about these two fighters. If you watch the fight, you can see that there is barely any vaseline that was on the cornerman's hands (you can also see that it was leftover, thus was not much in quantity). GSP had BJ gassed during stand up, and if you can push BJ to his limits, the fight is over. GSP would have demolished BJ Penn regardless of the vaseline. BJ is using this as an excuse for getting embarassed when he's not in his weight class.

He didn't cheat. His trainer apparently touched his back after putting vaseline on his face. The the official wiped it off and warned them. It was an accident that would have and didn't have any effect on the outcome of the fight. Penn got owned. GSP dominated him plain and simple. Nothing to do with Vaseline.
