for birds only about the size of a duck they sure have loud calls. If you are out on a lake with no noise around and just nature at night you can hear thier calls from atleast a mile away

Beautiful, love forked lake. stop by our channel, there are Adirondack fishing videos and some hunting, but I just filmed some loons swimming this morning and they will be going up soon.

One of the best things about camping mid-week instead of weekends is there is less motorboat activity to drive off the loons.
